The interior and cutlery is absolutely beautiful. We order a chilli con carne, a pot of tea and one plain scone with cream, butter and jam. The scone was one of the best cones I have eaten, and the chili con carne was good with plenty of chesse baguettes and a salad. All for a price of £20 which I think is a bargain. Especially considering the big portion size of the chili con carne that fed two of us and the scone too! Gigantic! It was packed when we visited on a pretty dull and windy day. The decor is charming: florals, bunting, beautiful crockery-it’s all very pretty! Just popped in for coffee and cake but the full menu looked so tasty. My carrot cake was huge and very good; I was so full from my coffee and cake that I skipped lunch! We visited on a Sunday and found that the majority of cafes were closed. Looking at those that were open we decided upon this place due to the reviews. We sat down and waited to order. When it was taken I did say to my friend I wasn't convinced we would get everything exactly right, as the gentleman didn't write anything down and he didn't seem 100% sure.
