A generous chunk of cheddar and very tasty home cooked ham. Very filling and fresh. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and go out of their way. As the name suggests the café is above the sea front overlooking the bay. The café is within a gift shop. I don’t offer award 5 stars but will on this occasion as there was nothing to fault. It's very nice to stop at the top and enjoy the view, but it's just as good to get a takeaway and eat on the very nice pebble beach below.

Everything is cooked perfectly and fresh, using quality produce. There's a great selection of breakfast baps, cold sandwiches, toasties, all the cakes are homemade, icecreams are a generous serving. Our favourites are the breakfast special (see pic), bacon bap, brie and bacon toastie, homemade cinnamon fruit loaf, scones, coffee and walnut cake and brownies. Basically, it's all good! The service is amazing, super efficient and very friendly, we come every year for a 2 week holiday and they remember us and what we have. A must visit if you're in the area.

My wife’s tea, toast and marmalade were also just what the start to a great day needed. We just touched on what was on offer but the service received and quality of the food was top notch so we’d highly recommend heading for Chapples as it’s clear that the new owner (from August 2024) knows how to offer and do that bit more that makes all the difference 👍

The Victoria sponge and the hot chocolate were both reeeeeally good, too. What I particularly loved about this place was that the owner genuinely cared about her customers. I was there for a while as I was waiting for a friend to finish a running race, and during that time lots of locals came in and she chatted to them all and showed a real interest in them and how they were doing. She went off at one point with plated up roast dinners for some people who lived in nearby sheltered housing because they couldn't get to the café. She came back and told the other people, who I think lived in the same place, how they were doing. So lovely and so heartwarming to find such kindness, especially in the times we are living in at the moment. I felt so welcomed and looked after and it was a pleasure to be part of this wonderful environment for a short time. Definitely would go again.
