This was anything but perfect. While it’s photogenic, edible it isn’t. The place was cold, everyone was sat in their coats. The breakfast was not hot, more lukewarm to some items being cold . Egg overcooked, sausage skin so hard it was like leather. The scrambled egg and smoked salmon, the salmon was inedible and I had to spit out the salmon. There was so much sinew in there it was impossible to chew. No one at anytime asked how the meal was. We waited and tied to catch a waiters attention but to no avail. We left very disappointed having spent £32 for two people for below average food.

Been Signals a fair few times in the past and always had fantastic food and fantastic service. Today, we had one of our childs bike so decided to sit outside. Saw the sign outside that there was an app, which I always like to use technology, and bonus a discount for using it. The sign said scan the QR code. This I found on the tables inside, so scanned it and there was an option to change table number. The tables outside didn't have the numbers on, but there was only one other table occupied so picked a number. Our drinks were brought out by one lady all fine, fantastic coffee. Our food than came out by a different lady, who straightaway confronted us by saying "can I ask, how did you order on the app outside". I explained I chose a different table. They continued saying that there isn't QR codes outside so they don't know whose ordering. We explained the options of outside tables are on the app, so if not allowed need removing or adding table numbers. Unfortunately it continued with comments making us feel we were in the wrong for using the app, or maybe for being outside in the rain by choice. This experience was the first time we'd experienced this at Signals but has put a dampener on feelings.

It's the most awesome cute and cosy cocktail bar, which, if you didn't know, is a cafe too. Serving chunks of gorgeous chocolate cake, cakes, and delicious savoury bites. It's really well sited and easy to get to. The funky decoration of the whole sitting rooms filters through to the atmosphere. Everyone is welcoming and helpful. The cocktails are all mixed by very good bar staff, we enjoyed a few 'Dark and Stormy' cocktails and 'French Martinis'. I am sensitive (not allergic) to gluten so I struggle to find things I can eat when I visit Saltburn... I am able to eat sourdough due to the low % gluten in it. Half of the menu was sourdough based rather than another bread, which made my entire week! I had a Brie, Bacon and Scotch Bonnet Jam Toastie and it was absolutely gorgeous. Definitely the best meal I've eaten in Saltburn. Don't even get me started on the Mocha 😻. My brother had a special hot chocolate and it was also very very nice. You can literally taste the difference between this store's cream/marshmallows and your standard ones - WOW. The customer service was fantastic despite it being very busy. Thank you to everyone who was working today! I rate the atmosphere a 3 as it is a very very cramped space and my fat behind could barely squeeze past other customers 🤣

It is outstanding! The staff are delightful and attentive and the chilled music playing in the background is just the right volume to create the perfect relaxing ambience. There are gluten free soups available as well. The cafe is much bigger than it looks with outside seating and extra seating downstairs in an intimate little seating room suitable for both drinking and eating. My partner got the lemon meringue which was so pretty and tasty, but they also had cherry Bakewells, almond cookies, soups, panini's, and more. For a tea room, its really good. Once the food arrived, the sandwich had a short dark hair on the plate (not on the food but still not pleasant) and the toasted teacake was black. By this point we’d been there for over half an hour though so we just wanted to eat and leave. Found black bits floating in the tea after adding extra water to the pot and realised the teapot was FILTHY inside and obviously hadn’t been cleaned properly for weeks or longer. The caked on muck was coming off and floating in the drink after we’d stirred the teabag in the pot. There’s a certain degree of staining in a teapot that is to be expected but this grime can only be due to a lack of hygiene standards. Definitely won’t be going back, despite the pretty view.

Never had any complaints until today. Only one member of staff to cope with a deluge of customers who all came in at the same time; she was quite clearly overwhelmed and could not cope with having to constantly switch from preparing orders to taking orders and payment at the counter. We got there early and had our pick today’s treats! The girl serving was very chatty and helpful while we made our choices.
