This sort of sharp practice irritates the hell out of me. They said nothing when I ordered it and indicated the deal and just applied normal prices at the till. We managed to sit outside away from the noise inside which was a plus point. We visit this Costa under duress as we don't like the dogs all over the place in Caffè Nero. But after Sunday we shall see where else we can go. It's a shame. Since they refurbished the cafe it's a nice place to go. Tables need to be cleared more frequently.

I originally sent this in a message on FB to the café as feedback, however after not receiving a reply for months, I figure I might as well post it here. As another reviewer has said, this place has drastically changed the quality of their menu. They used to do a mix and match style selection where you could choose 3 to 4 dishes, which my friends and I used to share between us, they were incredible. On visiting with my friends about three months ago, I just picked three salads for myself as I could see they changed their menu, but just assumed that the food would be similar to what it was. I’ve attached pictures of a previous visits food, and a picture of what I got this time. The broccoli was so good, even though it looked messy, but it couldn’t make up for the other items, which were so disappointing.The aubergine just didn’t taste good, the squash was ok, It wasn’t cooked for long enough, the sauce seemed to have been put on with a piping bag?? And had a lacklustre flavour of maybe mayonnaise. I don’t have to tell you which photo is which below. They are worlds apart, in standards, presentation, and taste. It’s such a shame, because this used to be the go to place I would take people to on visits, especially if they were vegetarian as each dish had so much thought put into it. I have to say, the service is quite friendly, and the atmosphere is actually lovely, lots of families, park run attendees, and cute dogs. They need to get back to what they were, or unfortunately, they’l just be another mediocre café.

It was £4 for a regular sized latte (most expensive price I've ever seen for a regular latte), £5.50 for a fresh orange juice and over £5 for most cakes and muffins. My eggs were perfectly runny and served on some proper thick-cut toast. The coffee was decent too – a good, strong flat white that actually tasted of coffee, not just hot milk. Service was quick and friendly, no fuss. The lady behind the counter was managing the rush really well and still had a smile for everyone. The best part is the price. For the quality of the food, it's brilliant value. It's easy to see why it's popular with locals. But, I have to say, I’m impressed. I ordered my burger with no salad as many salads not prepared by myself tend to make me very sick. But they made sure my burger was completely dairy and egg free. I wish they labelled dairy and egg free options better on the menu or had an additional board for the menu further from the till. It’s one of the only eateries on the farm if not THE only one, so it’s naturally a little costly. But, the burger I had was phenomenal. Very delicious even if the vegan cheese looked a bit strange. It’s good when you need a meal and happen to be on the farm. Overall, I think it was a quite good experience. Nothing to really frown at.

We were ignored on arrival by the staff sat out front rather than looking after customers. IThere seemed to be only one person in the kitchen and the orders were not fulfilled properly for the customers before us. We had to remind the staff of our order for a smoothie after watching several other milkshakes being made for customers arriving after us. Our food order was then forgotten and only came after a reminder, this was about an hour after placing the order. The lack of apology and attitude really added to the disappointment, the staff really don't seem to care about the customers. The tables felt sticky and were not wiped down once, we had to wipe crumbs from the previous customers off the table ourselves. I can't think of any other cafe locally where this would happen. The food when it arrived was really good, but the poor service will mean I won't be returning. This is such a shame, but there are many other places locally where my custom will be appreciated and I won't be made to feel like an inconvenience.
