I have had...a lot...I mean a lot of donuts in my life and this is firmly like top 3 from a chain. When I found out that I could grab some while watching some hockey at the PPL center it was an absolute game changer for me. I eventually found out that (especially in the morning call club) the PPL center has some other very good food too, but I always come back to Timmy for my fix. I can't say much for the ambiance here because I have never actually used the outside door and come during normal hours. I have had stuff here 4 times now and each time was during a hockey game so naturally the lines are long and they're running around like crazy in the back. They are definitely at least still friendly while trying to keep up with the masses.

I asked for an Oreo iced cappuccino & they told me they had no peppermint or Oreo while I was looking at both the peppermint & Oreo pieces on top of the machine … then they make my drink let it sit there for a sec walk around get whipped cream that the bag wasn’t piped right instead of paying attention they just put the bad whipped cream & scooped it off with a spoon never informed me either also didn’t add any Oreos to the top either. I also went one time as well got a dozen of donuts the manger tells the same girl from today with the dark hair & no hospitality for certain individuals was told by the manager to get the dozen of donuts didn’t even ask which ones I would like BUT got a lil irritated when I didn’t want a certain donut & asked for a different one … they need to be a little more lenient because even the manager don’t take things serious …. They don’t take anything serious in this place & don’t make certain people that don’t come on the regular feel welcomed. DO BETTER !!!!!

We searched for the best breakfast in Allentown and La Vida Cafe came up at the top of the list. It did not disappoint. The food was amazing...we both got the Allentown breakfast quesadilla. My daughter got an iced Chai Latte which she really enjoyed. (I got a Diet Coke because I'm horribly boring). The vibe in there was very cool. They have these 2 awesome chairs by the front door that are so comfortable. I could have fallen asleep in that chair. The staff were so friendly and the service was top notch. If you're visiting Allentown (or you live here) definitely check out La Vida Cafe.

I love supporting small business so I was excited to try it. When I got there they were 5 minutes from closing, so I got a cold brew mango iced tea and left. It was expensive, but pretty good. The three of us ordered items with the "2 for" designation, but it appears that the cashier rang it up incorrectly and we instead paid for two full meals each at the full price. I was very spoiled in Arizona. 😂 when I arrived here Last year (June 2018) the first first thing I did was look for coffee shops. To my dismay this was the only coffee shop. I went in... it was dark, dirty, not friendly, and the coffee was horrible. I didn’t go back. My husband happen to be bey and got an amazing coffee few days ago and told me I should go back. I was there Sunday and the place is CLEAN, bright, airy, and the barista and I struck up a conversation and the place is under new management!!! It’s night and day! The coffee was phenomenal and I’m so glad to have a great coffee shop close by like I did in my home town. 🙌🏼

The smoked ham croquettes are good. The dips we had were alright but I wouldn’t get them again. It’s super convenient for me because I work across the street in the large corporate center. I work in mental health, so I often look forward to a Starbucks after a long stressful day. Today however, I came to the counter and the barista just stared at me for several long seconds, and didn’t say a word. I was not bothered by this truthfully. I’ve encountered some harsh stare downs during the day from people my office works with to the general individual believing that I can read their mind, haha. So really not bothered. What did bother me though, was that right before me she did not treat the other customer in front of me in this manner. So this made me question if I did something to upset her. Her body language, truthfully, was not friendly, and I completely understand I sound like a nitpicky person who may allude to asking for the metaphorical manager… trust me I’m not. Not at all. I initiated the conversation to place my order. I asked the typical pleasantries. “Hello, how are you?” I received a curt “Hi”, and then a continued stare down, when I placed my order, she looked annoyed, and from what appeared to me, was some not so nice looks in my general direction, and some hush conversation with the other baristas. However, I couldn’t hear what they were saying so, that’s ultimately not that important. After this occurred, I went to the pick up area and was browsing on my phone. The next person to order was a Target employee, and it was like a complete 180 degrees in body language and overall tone. The barista was very friendly, engaging the employee in conversation. My drink was being worked on and then sat down to do the employees drink. Then they made mine and it was warm and the ice nearly melted. One of the baristas all but slid it down the counter to me, and the entire bottom was soaking wet. Myself and the employee both asked for a napkin. They brought the napkin’s immediately to the employee and I had to ask again for a napkin so I could wipe my drink. The one barista rolled her eyes and another barista handed me a napkin. I took a sip of the coffee, and ended up throwing it away when I got home because I had asked for sugar free vanilla and I was given full sugar vanilla. I thought I would be okay if I took my time, but after gastric bypass, sugar tolerance is very low. Now, again, I understand everyone has off days and overall bad days, but this was the first time I ever had an issue here so I’m honestly letting it slide. I hope that the barista (I didn’t catch her name) has a much better day tomorrow. We all have good and bad days, so hopefully tomorrow is a bit better. 🫂
