No reservation but they seated us immediately. Very attentive staff and food served pretty quickly, which is great. The food was ok but didn’t have soya sauce or chilli flakes on the table which I thought was a given for a Thai restaurant. We liked the atmosphere and it was reasonably priced. If you want a quick bite in the middle of the week then go for it. I think some of the 5 star ratings are from those who haven’t been out much.

The service was incredibly good and food arrived very quickly after ordering. The food was great, cocktails were decent and affordable (much appreciated happy hour on the Monday evening) and my choice of cocktail, Vice Admiral Smoker, came with a fun One Piece trading card as a garnish! We left very satisfied with our experience and each member of staff said goodbye to us as we went for the door which was very nice. It’s a shame I’m not local to Reading otherwise i’d be in here far more often!

Most Chinese food I have tried in UK has been very disappointing, but the two dishes I tried today really delivered on flavour. The Chow Mein was simple with enjoyable wok hei. Could have had a few more veg but it was a lovely contrast to the cold and spicy Sichuan shredded chicken bowl. The chilli sauce on the finely shredded chicken added great ma la with the cooling julienned cucumber, and combined the two dishes were very satisfying. So far all I have seen is Chinese people eating here which is a telling sign! This is not your average UK Chinese takeaway; this is close to the real deal! They do both traditional Chinese food (call up and ask) and Westernised Chinese food. First of all the portions are massive. The dry fried beef ho fun was fantastically authentic - exactly what I would expect from a restaurant. The water boiled beef, fish fragrant aubergines and soy beef tendon were all authentic. The mapo tofu had some surprising ingredients like mushrooms and peppers, but the sauce had the right numbingly spicy (mala) taste. The sweet and sour pork is some of the best I've had in Reading, containing large pieces of pork, not just batter. And the roast duck Chinese style was tasty and not dried out as it often can be. My partner has never been a big fan of Chinese food, usually finding it too greasy and sickly, or too orange and padded out with carrot and onion. Eventually found King Wok and tried them for the first time a few months ago. They're a 30 min drive from home.. but it's worth it!! She loves the Aubergine in Hot Bean Sauce (not something I've seen on any other Chinese takeaway menu) .. and the Classic Spring Rolls are the best we've ever had! We won't go anywhere else now! Be warned... they can get very busy on Friday/Saturday and there can be quite a wait for food. So order early on those days to avoid disappointment!! (Last time I tried ordering on a Saturday I called at 6:15pm and they said it would be at least 8:30pm before they would be able to have it ready as they are so busy.. they're supposed to close at 8:30pm.. that how busy they were! 😄)

This restaurant is excellent for North Indian food, offering delicious food. Another welcoming thing that the server let us keep the pickle tray until we are done with the starters. Mango mint yogurt sauce was very good with the mixed starters. For main course, we ordered 'Murgh garlic' and Chicken Naga Chili masala.  To go with it, we ordered Egg fried rice and  Peshawari Naan.    Murgh garlic and Peshawari naan was a perfect pair. Murgh garlic had very soft chicken pieces with very flavourful gravy. Even though the restaurant was very busy, Mr. Rehman (our server) was very attentive. Also the lovely lady who served the food was very friendly and she even had a friendly chat with my 3 year old. She provided children's cutlery so that my daughter could eat food at her ease. My daughter was also given a small glass of mango lassi (on the house) with mild flavour. She enjoyed it very well.  We could not finish all the food, the rest of the food was promptly packed for us to take home. We really had a good time, all together it was a culinary delight to have it. We will definitely go back.

It was great back then and it’s still great now. I returned last night with my family and that was probably my 10th visit. The big upside of Kei’s is that you never leave hungry. You can eat as many prawn crackers, starters, middle and main courses as you like, with all being freshly prepared to order. This restaurant is absolutely not comparable to ghastly buffets, which serve up piles of tepid mass-produced food using ingredients of a questionable quality. The bulk of the dishes on offer are Chinese but there are plenty of Thai dishes and some Singaporean and Malaysian too. There are just too many dishes to name as favourites, but the chicken and cashew nut and crispy chilli beef are definitely towards the top of the list. The satay chicken to start is also a winner! The staff here are most attentive and very friendly, even when rushed off their feet delivering orders to a packed restaurant. We were repeatedly asked about the enjoyment of our meals and table water was always replenished without asking. The price per head for dinner is £19.50 and the restaurant does apply a 10% service charge, which I did not object to. The service was faultless. Whilst not a cheap meal, the experience was worth every penny. Drinks and desserts come at extra cost. But after so much great savoury food, I had no room for something sweet. There are a lot of places to eat near the Caversham Bridge in Reading, UK on both sides of the river. I decided to try this particular restaurant located on the southeast side of the bridge. I had noticed it on my walk along the Thames walking path that it is next to. They have seating inside and out. Both offer great views of the Thames across the walking path. Although not my favourite cuisine, I was glad to see a lot of options on their all-day menu and a very ambitious set-menu to say the least. As well as an Indian menu, English, Italian and French dishes were also available, including a luxurious dessert selection. On my first day I ordered the corn-fed chicken breast that came with carrot purée and seared broccoli. The purée, broccoli and thin thyme infused gravy was delicious, however the star of the dish- the chicken, was bland and a little dry. For dessert I had an amazing rum sauce plum and blackberry crumble. Perfectly crispy crumb, soft plums, and a vanilla custard that brought the flavours together wonderfully. On my second day, I ordered the duck salad, confit pork belly and the dark chocolate mousse. The duck salad was disappointing as it was dry and chewy, a far cry from the melt-in-the-mouth experience I was expecting. The pork belly, though paired with a rich herby mash and light serving of vegetables, was again lacking in quality. Having only a few days prior tried a pork belly dish at another Crowne plaza, I was perplexed to see the inconsistencies in food quality. In this case the ambition and complicated elements of the dish, took away from the quality of the meats served. Nevertheless, dessert hit me with a high note, the dark chocolate mousse was sweet, light and paired perfectly with the tart raspberry purée and strawberry sorbet. I went with a few more sides after that, and I’m happy to say their triple cooked chips were the best ones I’ve had in a while. We also had breakfast on both mornings which was delicious, especially their full-English and assortment of pastries. I also favoured their plain praunta which was reminiscent of a savoury crispy pancake, mild in flavour and suited to all tastebuds, as opposed to authentic Indian flavours. Their garlic naan and poperdoms were also perfectly fresh and piping hot, but after this good experience things only went downhill… Unfortunately their paneer was solid and not as fresh as it should have been, and their plain lassi was so bad it made one of our table members sick for two days. Stay on the safe side and order a fine wine or a fresh juice, that lassi gave stomach aches to all who drank it. Yet again, dessert saved the evening- their array of ice creams and perfectly soft and moist chocolate brownie wetted the sweet-tooth. Service in the restaurant itself was a 10/10 experience. Staff was very accommodating with seating and table arrangements, and very familiar with dishes on all the menus which made ordering a pleasant experience. We got to know our servers well and I was astonished to see they remembered our past food preferences as each day went on. The only reason I have given four stars as opposed to five, is due to a bit of a breakfast mishap where another room’s order was sent to our door and I had to have a rather unpleasant and tiresome phone conversation as to how the order was not ours. However, credit is due where it’s due and the reception did call back to apologise as the breakfast order was indeed sent to our room by mistake. Overall, staff is very friendly and efficient, but my experience in the restaurant was much better than my experience with room service. Overall I was happy with this Crowne Plaxa’s staff experience and pleased with their excellent, luxury standing desserts. Ordered 2 main meals plus the usual extras through Uber Eats for the food to be delivered and a main meal missing and it wasn’t even ticked off the receipt showing the quality control of sending out orders without fully checking everything was present was very bad. The special traditional prawn fried rice was tasty and the best I've had locally. The mixed pad Thai was good but did lack a little spice would have been 5 stars otherwise. (I do like hot and spicy food though). The prawns in both dishes were large and succulent. Will definitely be using again. Update 18/06/23. Had the Singapore mee goreng and Nasi goreng with stir fried veg, delivered on time and all were tasty. Currently our favourite takeaway on Bracknell.

Beautiful, little cosy restaurant with lovely food and lovely staff. We ordered Nepalese Chicken curry, Fulka Rotis, Chilli Momos and Saag Palak. The food was yum. Everything was very fresh and tasted authentic. We also tried their Gurkha Beer, which was surprisingly smooth and light. The chilli momos could have been a bit more spicy though, but still good.
