We were taken to our room which was a nice touch and told about local services if we needed them. Our room overlooked the courtyard, really good size and we had a bathroom with own shower. Nice touch with the free toiletries and we had a fan in our room which was a good addition! You get left with a key to the fire door if you're back late which again is great and don't feel you are restricted to a curfew. They don't have parking but we parked on the museum and just extended. Tip: take a photo of the QR code so you can extend without walking back to the car. We had a drink in the courtyard after check in which was such a sun trap and we really felt relaxed there. Good choice of drinks available. Slept really well in the room and the pub is on the whole quiet after closing times. In the morning we were welcomed to our table and we could help ourselves to cereal and yoghurt. The orange juice was a nice touch. I know there was water available but maybe a suggestion to put these next to the yogurts if people need it. There's no breakfast menu and it sounded the only choice was a full English. I'm sure you could ask for anything and they would have made it as the server was so attentive but maybe offering a menu or a choice as some people don't like to ask in case they feel awkward. The breakfast was delicious. Generous portion and you could have extra tea/coffee and toast if needed. We were asked if we wanted marmalade or sauces which is taken from the kitchen. Probably a good idea to put this on a table so people can help themselves? Wasn't a massive issue though. On the whole we had a lovely stay and we would stay again!

Breakfast is served at another pub about 30 yards away and was spot on. Great value for money given the location. It needs a makeover. The stair walls and carpets are very grim walking to the rooms and the bath in my room wasn’t clean but I had no option but to use it as there was no shower. I had to kneel in the bath whilst holding the shower attachment, not ideal. All this place needs is a lick paint, some carpets and it would be brilliant.

We arrived without having booked (silly us - definitely recommend booking a table!) but we were told they could fit us in, and I'm so glad they could. The prawn toast was unlike any I've ever had. Super crispy, fresh and moist. For our mains we had the beef pad krapow (off the specials board) and the prawn pad thai. The beef was stunning, beautiful flavours with tender beef and a touch of heat - perfect! To end we had the fried ice cream (had to give it a go) and the lemon and lime cheesecake. It was fairly nice, clean and tidy, but the only couple of downsides there were, was a couple of the forks weren't as clean as they should be. It's tucked away by The Museum of Iron. We walked into a bright, airy and cool industrial café. The furniture is funky and comfy. My son and I chose a table. So the large room has a high ceiling, paved floors and no soft furnishings which makes for an extremely noisy experience, voices and scraping chairs echoing round, not comfortable at all. The entrance is accessible and there is plenty of room inside for wheelchair users. As other reviewers have pointed out, the car park is a pay car park, and again not cheap. The fees provide for upkeep of the museum but if the fee is compulsory then it is not a voluntary donation. Altogether disappointing.

In popular tourist destinations this is something I always find difficult as often end up disappointed. Having wandered up and down the high street and checking reviews though I have to say I pulled a blinder with this selection. Once at the Elephant crossing the welcome is warm and friendly, the service is second to none and the atmosphere is fantastic. The restaurant has a beautiful outside terraced area with excellent views across the river. Staff were a bit hit or miss. Walking in I was encouraged by the bottles of Cholula on the table. However if you’ve eaten tacos in Mexico or throughout the southwestern USA you may find that the whole the menu looks interesting the fusion falls slightly short ending with a mediocre meal - but at least it doesn’t break the budget. I ended up using at least a third of a bottle of said Cholula on my meal to give add some extra interest and heat to it. Ultimate verdict - probably wouldn’t return. We had an amazing meal at the Elephant Crossing. We decided to recreate the platter and had multiple dishes. Our server recommended some of our dishes and she chose really well. The tacos and lollipops were especially tasty! We had a few mojitos too which were made fresh and complimented the food really well. We had probably over ordered but how can you not with the amount of tasty dishes there are. We went outside after for a drink. Great atmosphere outside with the lights and a great view of the gorge. We then went for food which was high quality and tasted phenomenal zero complaints, especially since we got a free drink since it was her birthday and we were celebrating! Bar manned with one member of staff on a busy evening with long wait times. We ate outside at six and stayed outside until 9 and our finished plates amongst other tables were there the whole time. The spa itself is hit and miss I had a great massage but my partner not so good. But nice and relaxing none the less. Overall we want to like the hotel as the staff are nice but it is outdated and I presume the focus is primarily on the golf course. P.s breakfast was great and they do fried bread!! Staff in the spa were helpful and friendly. Facilities were very clean and just great. I had the Revitalising exfoliating massage treatment for 50 minutes by Leah. This was a brilliant experience and the very friendly Leah was very adept and thorough. Later we ate in the busy restaurant where we were again greeted and served by friendly helpful staff. Our fabulous meals arrived swiftly and we thoroughly enjoyed them. My daughter devoured her Gluten Free fish and chips as I did my ribeye steak. The facilities were clean, well maintained, and the light lunch was great. One thing we weren’t aware of when booking was that a children’s swimming club was taking place during our visit. It did make the pool area a little noisy, and we didn’t have full access to the pool for a while. Had we known in advance, we probably would’ve chosen a different day. After looking at the menus available and having an 11yr old and a 14yr old in tow, we decided that the Sunday lunchtime menu had something for everyone. It did not disappoint. I had a mackerel scotch egg starter with a mango chutney and curried mayonnaise. My wife had chicken liver parfait with almond bread. My main was pork belly with pear and black pudding. The two ladies were kept best busy all night but were superb. £30 for two courses or £38 for three courses... and worth every penny. A lot has been said about the 10% service charge but the menu states it is discretionary. I always give 10% when a place goes above and beyond, and I was happy to pay. I think unless you had a really bad experience, I honestly feel it would be churlish to remove the service charge. All in all we had a great night and we'd definitely go back again.

Steeped in history this restaurant is in the old police station and court house. You can eat in the old courthouse making it quite unique. The reviews on here are extremely positive and as soon as we saw the outside of the cafe we could see why. We walked up the short flight of stairs and found a sweet little seating area. All the tables were full but a lovely gentleman called us over to join him and his wife because he didn't want us missing out on this lovely place. We ordered the chocolate brownies and hot chocolates and they arrived promptly. The waitress was polite and courteous. The brownie was the best I've had and the hot chocolate was delicious. Service is faultless and the art on display keeps one occupied whilst waiting for food to be prepared. We had a very tasty mixed bean soup with a cheese toasty. On the night of my first day of stay I had dinner at Aftab. The host was named Ahmed. Ahmed is a nice man. A local came by for a takeout (in England it is take-away). Ahmed seems to know his regular customers well. I ordered a prawn dish, a cauliflower & potato dish, and garlic nam. Ahmed made a few suggestions. The food was great. I enjoyed the flavors. We discussed the relationship between the Republic of India and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. There seems to be tensions between Hindus and Muslims of the Indian Subcontinent. Like China the people of the Indian Subcontinent have an ancient culture, blood rivalries, and cultural divisions. People of under-developed countries need to understand that it is in their own interest to live in peace with their neighbors so their country can be stable. We were greeted by a friendly young man who gave us a history of the place. It's a shame that there doesn't seem to be much footfall in this part of Ironbridge in the evening. Food is freshly cooked and the chef obviously loves his job. The menu is varied, and nothing seems to be too much trouble. It's a sign of the times that people will eat mass produced rubbish which will probably cost more than the exquisitely flavoured delights that this place offers. At the moment, there is no alcohol licence, however you can bring your own, much like many other restaurants of this type. People of Ironbridge, please don't lose this fantastic little restaurant, your town will be much poorer should you lose it. I recommend the sheek kebab as a starter, followed by the lamb biryani. My much better half had aloo ghobi, tarka dhal and rice which she really enjoyed. It is obvious that different dishes are cooked separately, none of the generic sauce which is usually used.

As we entered the lovely lady (didn’t get her name) told us where everything was and we got seated to look through the menu. When we knew what to get, we placed our order and waited for about 2mins for our drinks. Then our food came 10mins after, which i was not expecting it to be that quick. I got the breakfast wrap which had bacon, sausage, egg, cheese and hash brown. Honestly i couldn’t believe how good it tasted after the first bite. Then my mum got the small breakfast which included: beans, sausage, bacon, eggs, tomatoes and toast. There service here was incredible and couldn’t ask for better service and food. Would definitely recommend this place to get some good food.

First impressions were not the best the bar tender was most interested in taking our payment rather than serving our drinks and was rather unwelcoming. We were advised there was no change therefore we were forced to leave her with the change (£7.81) which were not impressed with. Thankfully the weather was lovely for a Saturday in November so we decided to sit outside. We then met Jade as she was clearing tables from previous customers. Her customer service, genuine interest and happy nature shone through and turned the experience all the way around. She engaged with us, informed us that they were a hotel, informed us of the latest refurbishment and swotted us up on the Christmas events calendar - even given us her personal recommendations from the menu, offered to take photographs of our party and took a genuine interest in speaking with us. She had us all in fits of laughter (and all of the other customers seemed to be in total awe of her) just what I needed after a rendering diagnosis I have recently received. Menu is very good, desserts are something else and staff are excellent. Accommodation is also very good, our room was exceptionally clean, well presented and very comfortable. We were 11 in our group and our first stop was to have lunch at The Water Rat Inn. This place is in an amazing location near to the Iron bridge.The restaurant is really good with very nice seating inside, outside and in the ground overlooking the river and another bridge. Plenty of free parking available on site.One can walk along the river to the famous Iron bridge which we all did after having lunch. Talking about Lunch, we were seated inside with nice ambience overlooking the car park and grounds next to river and bridge. The staff were very welcoming and helpful in talking our food and drinks orders. The price is reasonable. When the food was served, it looked so appealing to look at and good potion sizes. All items eaten were really tasty and delicious. We did not have room for dessert (may be next time) Thank you to all the staff for looking after us and the service provided. We definitely recommend this place to all and will definitely return.

No one greeted us when we walked in; we were ignored until we asked for our table (we’d booked ahead). Three main courses came at the same time, but my dad’s burger eventually came half an hour later. (We were told because it had to be made fresh? Surely all the food would need to be made fresh?) He asked to have it wrapped to take away since we were all done with lunch. It was taken away and when we didn’t receive it back we asked where it was, turns out they’d thrown it away by mistake and had to cook another one from scratch. So another half hour wait.
