The drive here was a bit intimidating but it’s definitely worth it. The service is quick and speedy so can feel a bit rushed if not prepared. But we had time to enjoy each course. The drinks were really interesting so many options. We had a fig cocktail and a cherry pit spritz. Both were great. Loved the desserts as well. Love the ethos of “Live life on the veg”. The menu was so well thought out and everything paired so well together. The fig salad with pine nuts and feta was so refreshing and delicious. The padron peppers roulette was a good little addition. Hummus and sourdough bread with nigella seeds was an exciting start to the meal. Staff were super kind and friendly, they were very well organised, everything felt intentional and thought out. Really enjoyed it , would definitely recommend visiting for the whole experience. Such good value for the price.

They've obviously had to change things in the wake of COVID, so it isn't quite the same set up as their original vision, but it is still brilliant. Food is delicious. The staff couldn't be nicer. We only booked on the day and took a seat outdoors for the evening sitting. The location is lovely and the outdoor area was actually great. It’s not heated but they did explain this over the phone. You get blankets and it’s under cover. The service and food were fantastic. Everyone has the same menu (yes vegetarians are well catered for). The food was well presented, very tasty in a sharing format per table. This informal design adds to the experience. Some interesting soft drinks like shrub and homemade kombucha adorn the menu. We found it to be very good value for money and it’s not hard to see why it’s booked out midweek. Highly recommended but advise you book ahead.

Phenomenal food. Every plate brought out was delicious. Catered for GF needs and I didn't feel like I 'missed out ' on any course. Everyone is served at a similarish time, has the same food on sharing plates at each table and then a choice of puddings. Vegetables are the stars but lamb was also part of the menu. The food courses flowed seamlessly with perfect gaps to get drinks/let good settle. We loved that you didn't know the menu till you arrived - don't let this put you off. There was also a wonderful selection of drinks to try. I only hope we can one day visit again!

The wait staff told us they only finalise the meals that morning once they have everything in from the deliveries. Nice view of the harbour from most of the restaurant. Very friendly staff who will happily run through to catches of the day and how they are cooked and give you prices at the table. The fish was excellently cooked and presented and they popped over every now and then to see if you wanted a top up on the unlimited chips. We waited 1 hour and 11 minutes for our starters. They weren't great. No more tables joined the restaurant thank goodness and the usual rush we experience every Monday everywhere else just didn't happen here. Another 50 minutes and our main meals arrived. Cold! My Gammon was nicely cooked and was a lovely piece. The fries were crunchy and cold. The Scampi was greasy and cold with a soggy coating. We were offered 20% off but then when they realised we ordered through the app they came to the conclusion there was nothing they could do even though we couldnt eat it. No offer of Coffees or anything like that, just an excuse of the kitchen being short staffed. The table was booked in advance so they could have got in touch if 7 meals was too much for one person to handle. The staff seemed like they had just given up. The venue itself is absolutely soulless and a crying shame. The menu is pretty good if they can find someone to cook it. Great location but not worth a 40 minute drive, in fact if I was staying there I wouldn't even walk down the stairs to dine or drink there again.

Lack of food was the issue. Having booked a table, stating it was for Sunday roast, we arrived, greeted by a stoney faced waitress, to be told there were no roasts. My wife ordered a simple chicken & noodle dish. She waited 20 mins. The first thing to say is that clearly Wagamama have cut their portion sizes by 25%. The half breast portion of chicken hidden amongst the noodles was so over cooked my wife had to ask for a knife & not use chopsticks, which we like to do, as she simply couldn’t even break the chicken apart. The lunch we had today was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour, a real step above the ordinary. Had a meal out with my partner here last night and it did not disappoint! The waiter was super helpful , friendly and attentive . The venue is really special , it is a small dining area with a lovely atmosphere. I had the sea bass served with veg and dauphinoise potatoes, which was delicious followed by the almond tart with amaretto ice cream. We finished with a gorgeous chilled limoncello and an espresso. There was an extensive wine menu, nuts and amuse-bouche to start with. Everything was thought of making it a perfect evening out . Seasonal & high quality ingredients (many items home grown/local) and excellent flavours across everything we ordered. The aubergine and ricotta dish was the star of the menu (charred peaches/mackerel/ lamb ragu with pappardelle made in house also delicious) and the fig leaf ice cream had incredible flavour. I couldn’t fault any of the dishes. Good drinks menu especially non alcoholic options. Service was friendly and attentive and accommodating our dog (treats and water). On a hot day it was very (slightly uncomfortably) warm in the restaurant is my only minor negative but appreciate there isn’t much that can be done when you’re sitting near cooking food. The entrance through sun soaked and beautiful garden was immediately inviting. I enjoyed the Sunday Lunch Topside of Beef which was outstanding along with the veggies and huge Yorkshire pudding, by far one of the best roasts I've had eating out and definitely recommend (the Cauli cheese alone gets 5*). Our party also thoroughly enjoyed the delicious Scotch Egg starter and mains of Fish and Chips as well as Fish of the Day plate. We rounded the meal off with a couple of puddings (a crumble I'd spotted being served earlier that we couldn't resist and an affogato served with the silkiest icecream). With our 1yr old in toe, the staff were hugely accommodating to the little one, preparing a high chair, accommodating our request of an extra Yorkshire pudding for him to enjoy and even offering to rinse the child's tableware we'd bought with us at the end of our meal. P.s. I rarely review meals out but today's lunch surpassed expectations so much that I felt compelled to share secrets of this gem of a find in the heart of Devon!

The staff were very welcoming and friendly, as it is part of the South Devon Railway in Buckfastleigh there's lots to see and do. I had a half steam english breakfast and the scrambled eggs were delicious and the breakfast was reasonably priced. There is also an amazing model shop on the side, which is great to look at, I definitely will be returning in the future to try some of there other great food on there large menu.
