Now the food we had was okayish, though it took them some serious time to deliver it. The real surprise came from the beers. I came here especialy to try their beers since they proclaimed themselfes able to match a beer to any kind of food in their menu and they literaly have a beer book. First beer I asked was not available. Second one I asked for they "just finished it". Both were on tap. Thir beer was on can, called Stone IPA. For my surprise the beer was definately been staying for some time in their fridge, the foam did not lied. More over, the beers they have, the european niché monk style precious stuff, it's just to pretentious things for one to be able to enjoy and it is definately not a good idea to spend 7 or 8 or 10usd to find that out on your own pocket, especialy when waiters are completely oblivious to recommend you or to teach one about their 'tens of different beers. I have had everything from Culvers to Shirl's to Kopp's to Caesars, and I will tell you, Leon's is nothing special. DQ soft serve is more noteworthy. Normally I do not leave negative reviews, especially not for local small businesses. When I went to Leon's, I could barely see the menu, I was rushed to order, I was not given the final price of the food, the hot dog on my "chili dog" was YELLOW. The grilled cheese was the star of the show and it was mid at best. To the owner of Leon's: I sincerely wish you nothing but the best in business, but there are some serious improvements to be made. If I were in your shoes, I would ditch whatever meat supplier you are currently using and go with none other than Vienna Beef, I would ditch the "Spanish hamburger" in favor of a real cheeseburger (preferably a smash burger) and maybe use a higher quality custard mix. There were so many good choices on the menu it was hard to pick - I ended up with an ice tea and the Crescent Wrench which is essentially a scrambled egg, cheese, and I choose avocado on a buttery croissant (bacon or sausage was also an option). I opted for a side of fruit which had generous portion of pineapple, orange slices and melon. I would definitely recommend this as a must visit stop on your next trip to the Third Ward. We are so glad we did because it was so delicious. The pizza is very thin and slightly crispy. They put a nice marinara on it and really good Italian sausage. For 2 people, we shared the large. The service was very kind, although when we walked in we asked if it was ok to park in the lot by the restaurant and we practically got yelled at by the guy behind the bar. It was odd. I had the Patty melt and substituted onion rings (at added cost) instead of the included fries. I also ordered a bowl of grandma's chili and a butterscotch malt. I loved everything, the chili was mild but full of flavor ( it could have been a few degrees warmer when served) but that is my personal preference. The butterscotch malt was creamy and full of butterscotch flavor. The onion rings were slightly undercooked, my personal preference, I hate over fried onion rings the onions lose all their natural sweetness. My son had a cup of Chicken Noodle soup, he thought it ticked all his boxes the carrots still had some texture, chicken was firm and tasty, his only negative comment was the elbow mac noodles were very firm but not the texture of undercooked pasta. My wife has very limited mobility and I am fairly large (overweight). A booth seating is awkward for both of us and high stools are not something my wife can use.
