A lovely atmosphere, with the restaurant packed for the whole time we were there. As a starter my wife and I shared the sourdough focaccia with balsamic and olive oil. The bread was warm, and the balsamic was wonderfully tart. For mains I had the pork rib eye, with braised cannellini beans and agrodolce. It was wonderfully cooked - soft, tender, pork that was perfectly balanced with the sweet/sour agrodulce and the rich, meaty, braising sauce from the cannellini beans. My wife ordered the pappardelle with roasted squash and crispy sage from the Vegan menu, she said it was delicious and the crispy sage was the star of the show. For dessert we went for a special - brioche bread and butter pudding with apple compote and chantilly. It was so good - warm, rich, sweet, and spiced. We paired the dessert with the house-made limoncello which was absolutely ridiculous. The flavour took a few seconds to hit, but it just exploded with sweet and sour lemon that was so fun and delicious. Would absolutely recommend - great food, great service, and well priced for the quality you get.

Booked it very last minute so hadn’t had a look at the menu before hand, when we were told the menu is a small plate concept we were surprised as normally not the type of people to share food aha! When we asked for the bruschetta to be bought out at the same time as the rest of the food, it wasn't. It took nearly an hour to send out our mains and only 15 minutes to send out a starter. So about a 50 minute wait for food for some people Sent the pork back for being 75% fat, the sirloins texture felt like it had been in the oven since last Sunday and the bruschetta used overripe salad tomatoes instead of some decent tomatoes to make it just a little tasty. The bloke was very nice about the whole thing however a restaurant needs good timing, good food and good service, this place had one. Couldve had a better meal at a closed down burger king.

We arrived too early for lunch service (30mins too early) but we said we were happy to get a drink and wait for food. They took our drink order (two different coffees), but forgot about the tap water. There hardly any other customers in the restraint at that point. Then didn’t come back to take our food order when the kitchen ordered. Had to get waitresses attention several times. For charcuterie board (just look at the picture, I took it after we took off only two slices of chorizo and two pieces of crostini) and roast (pork and beef). The board was so bad, awful for £11. Roast was not good, only okay. We’ve had much better elsewhere. Beef was difficult to cut, pork wasn’t crispy or melting in your mouth type of fat. It looked nice on the plate but not tasty. The Yorkshire pudding was like a crispy piece of bread, with no rise. Considering how quiet they were, I don’t understand how the service couldn’t have been so inattentive. Would be okay if the food made out for it a little bit but it was so disappointing.

They were tagged jumbo shrimp but were definitely just normal sized. They were served in a garlic butter sauce that had a hint of chili flakes and bread on the side. The mussels were extremely fresh, they had come in that day. That did mean they were a bit gritty but the flavor was really delicious. They came in a bold, white wine sauce and a generous portion. I had the Tomato Basil salad. This caprese with mozzarella was very straightforward with a nice seasoning on top. I followed that with the chicken Parmesan. It could have used a touch more tomato sauce, but the lemon to squeeze in it along with the jamón serrano and cheese made it very delicious. It was a very generous helping and also came with a side of hand cut fries. I would strongly recommend this or the mussels. I had a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and it had a particularly fruity hint to it that I quite liked. We were the only ones there as it was lunch. They had a two course meal option which I believe was 25£ so we went with that. Our server was very attentive and I believe also handling the bar. Ordered carbonara. Looked like it was made with pancetta large pieces. The seasoning was low. But actually well balanced as when you got a piece of pancetta(that was mildly salty) you go the seasoning you might have thought it was short on. There was so much pancetta so much fresh pasta. Come with appetite! The carbonara was made with egg so authentic. I would have preferred guanciale but would make the reasonable price of 12£ impossible. All in all a nice glass of Italian red. It was free food for kids which was a good deal and their food was OK,pizza lovely. I wanted risotto as it was advertised on the sign outside, I order it and got normal rice with mushrooms. I got handed a menu and once the waiter came back I placed my order and the food came astonishingly quickly and I was very impressed. The same with the mains, I had lasagne and it was delicious. I skipped dessert because I was full with the first 2 courses so I asked for the bill. I was surprised that there was an additional 10% service charge added, not obviously marked as optional. This seems very weird in England, the staff should be paid well already, I'm getting service because I came to a restaurant so not sure why I pay extra to the already restaurant marked up prices. Very American and no idea why you cant just add the service price in the prices of food. Would make much more sense. I'm happy to give the waiting staff a tip if they did a good job, which they did, but don't ask me for it, or put it on the bill that's just down right cheeky! Was not impressed at this policy and should not be randomly adding charges for things you already expect when going to a restaurant. It was empty on a Friday night, had a booking for 11 people, and although I understand we arrived a bit before our booking, considering they had nobody around, the table wasn't ready yet. Great offering and good value. Went to their branch in Prince Albert Street Brighton and waitress lovely. Food was great. Arrived at 20:50 and ordered the set of 3 courses. Got to dessert at 21.28 ( we eat quite fast 😂) and a waiter arrived to say it’s too late to have the dessert as kitchen closed but would check!! Looked at their website and low and behold it says they close at 9pm, not a problem just tell us that in sitting down. Ultimately got the dessert but couldn’t help feeling we totally overstayed our welcome by the staff. Brighton is now a major City. To close at these times, is tough. There were still around 15 people in the restaurant. They have another branch around the corner in Jubillee Street, so next time it’s definitely there, won’t feel as pressurised or rushed! On the positive the female waitress was lovely. The male who came later ( if it was my staff member) I would probably check on a random drug test……not sure all was totally right, but was an experience. This is brilliant news for us and we will certainly be back! Other reviews have commented that it is overly expensive, but the quality of food and portions would suggest otherwise. If you want a cheap Italian meal there are lots of options in town, but for an incredible meal this is the place! And we absolutely could have scaled back our order to be more affordable if it wasn’t a special occasion, and we will do so that we can visit often! Trying to find a table for 5 at midday for a spontanous roast is a tricky find when you call up most places and theyre fully booked until 5:30pm that evening - we were so lucky that wasn't the case with La Piazza and I imagine its because no one would think that this resturant would do such a great roast! Hoenestly - the portion size inceedible, the beef thin, the pork belly wasn't too crisp that we couldn't bite into the top, so yummy and the chicken was also really really good! All five of us were really happy with our choice. Would defintely go again and recommend to others. Really lovely variation of veggies too.

A very pleasant layout. It was for my Daughter's birthday. Generally the food was good. I really enjoyed my seafood linguini. Unfortunately my partners ceaser salad not so much. As the pizza's all go in the same oven apparently. They could make a little more effort for gluten free puddings. So overall a good experience. I come here quite regularly with my partner and this time we had the Funghi Pizza and the Pomodoro which was probably my favorite. The pizzas have a great crispy base and the ingredients all seem fresh. Most pizzas like the Bruno, the Padana, and smoky bbq chicken have this English twist to them because they taste a bit sweeter than a real Italian pizza. They have some nice starters although the chicken wings specifically don’t feel Italian and are perhaps a bit over spiced. The sauce that comes with them is amazing but gets hidden by all the seasoning on the chicken itself. The calamari and the shrimp starters are also underwhelming but the doughballs with the 3 sauces is great for sharing and the sauces are delicious. They do have some lovely wines and sparkling sodas so definitely try the lime and ginger. I know the dough comes in frozen and the chicken is sourced from Thailand which feels cheap and “chainy” but I suppose it doesn’t really affect the quality but it makes you feel a tiny bit ripped off when you’re still paying £18 per pizza. Also make sure you get the app because they do have good deals like a free drink or side and sometimes even mains but read the terms and conditions. Overall it’s a really nice place but it feels overpriced and I definitely wouldn’t go here often if they didn’t have discounts or free items.

We started with the fried olives - a unique dish and totally delicious. Our mains arrived in good time and were really lovely - I would say that the amaretti biscuit crumb on my dish was a little too sweet and overpowered the more delicate flavours somewhat, but otherwise a very tasty dish.
