An excellent authentic Italian restaurant, run by actual Italians! We arrived as a group of 7 with no reservation and only waited 10 minutes. Great freshly-cooked food, served with a smile, in a classic interior. Mostly good value for money, although beers were a bit expensive - it's also quite noisy due to the closely packed tables. A beautiful authentic Italian restaurant. Hands down some of the best food I've had, their lasagna is my personal favourite and their cheesy garlic bread is to die for. The place is run by a brilliant and friendly team. It's easily the best Italian in Liverpool.

Ik begrijp eerlijk gezegd niet waar alle lovende reviews vandaan komen. Dit restaurant heeft weinig met een echte authentieke Italiaan te maken. De cannelloni was een opgewarmde gehakt staaf met 1 lasagne blad erop, zwemmend in een smaakloze tomatensaus. De pizza stelde ook weinig voor zoals op de foto te zien. Hier helaas geen echte steenoven maar alles wordt in een grote oven geschoven. De bediening vraagt bij het uithalen ook niet of alles heeft gesmaakt maar maakt de tafel graag vrij voor de volgende gasten.. De inrichting van het restaurant krijgt dan weer wel dikke complimenten, hier is echt tijd en aandacht ingestoken.
Door alle goede reviews hier gaan eten maar voor ons zeker de laatste keer!

One of my favourite Italian restaurants of all time! Every time I visit Liverpool, I have to stop here as the food is absolutely sensational. It’s not a fancy or “luxury” place, just a down-to-earth, authentic restaurant that serves amazing quality food.
There’s always a queue outside, but it’s definitely worth the wait every time. It’s always busy, yet the service is still friendly and efficient, which really adds to the experience. A true gem in Liverpool that I can’t recommend enough!

Starters of duck ragu and lobster ravioli (not pictured) halibut for main (also not pictured) and pumpkin cream orzo risotto with sausage and truffle for my main. An absolutely outstanding dining experience from start to finish. The atmosphere exudes sophistication and style, perfectly matched by the impeccable service. Every member of staff was attentive, professional, and made the evening feel truly special.
I ordered the mixed chicken and prawn pasta with fries — it was absolutely beautiful. The mixed steak with mash and the sea fish were equally superb. Every dish was cooked to perfection, full of flavour, and beautifully presented.
The food quality, presentation, and service were all spot on. San Carlo truly sets the standard for fine dining — an exceptional restaurant that delivers luxury, class, and culinary perfection in every sense.
Our final bill came to £800+ but it was worth every penny and £ 😊

The moment you enter, the resturant was light up with art like decoration. With bars at the front before leading to our table at the back. Ordered a truffle mushroom pizza and penne bolognese pasta for mains and fried rice ball with truffle as starter. Order their signature cocktail “Charlie charpin”. The fried rice ball was nice with a balance taste on the gravy and rice was cooked well covered. In my view, both pizza and pasta were too salty and overwhelming. But tiramisu and mango sobert were good to pull the experience back.
On my observation, the servers taking care of zone I am sitting was One of the worst services I have ever met in such resturant. I had the rice ball and pizza for my meal but not even attentive to give me a side plate. Attitude was bad as of could not care less on spending in comparison to other diners. Would I go again, might not with this experience. Very disappointing!

San Carlo Liverpool offers a refined dining experience with lovely vibes, friendly staff, and great service that makes you feel welcomed from the moment you arrive.
The food was a highlight — Carbonara was creamy and perfectly balanced, the lobster ravioli was delicious and truly unique, the lobster tagliatelle was rich and flavorful, and the risotto with mushroom and truffle was absolutely top-notch.
However, there were two small disappointments. Despite noting in the reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, the restaurant did not acknowledge the occasion. Additionally, there was no tiramisu available on the menu, which was a letdown for such a classic Italian spot.
Overall, still a wonderful dining experience with excellent dishes, but with a little more attention to special occasions, it could easily be a 5-star visit.

Came here on summer evening and thought it was nice beautiful restaurant. When entered, just realise the air condition wasn’t working making the atmosphere stuffy and we had to speak about it for staff to put a fan for us. When it comes to food, the bread platter we ordered was disappointing. The bread itself was hard and dry as if it was baked for days. We were told it was freshly baked in the morning, don’t think the quality of the bread was top notch in this case!
Come to our main dish, the pasta portion looks huge which were great. However, we were a bit disappointed on the amount of olive oil added to the dish. That probably makes pasta smooth but it was really oily!
Overall, this probably the first and last time coming to this restaurant for sure. The price was fine dining price but don’t feel I had the fine dining experience.

The restaurant is stunning, food is divine, service is impeccable and the overall ambiance was perfect for a nice evening with friends. It’s hard to find authentic Italian food and this place has the BEST! They use ingredients from the Basilicata region of Italy & every bite was like a taste of Italy! I’d highly recommend the bruschetta, carbonara and cannoli but we shared multiple dishes and all were amazing. If ever you’re in Liverpool do yourself a favor & go to Il Forno!!

We had lunch at Il Forno Bocconcini last Sunday and it was truly spectacular.
The meat was cooked to perfection — tender, juicy, and full of flavour. That delicious bread served on the side (I don’t even know its name!) was soft and simply divine. We also had some desserts, beautifully presented and made with great care.

I docked only half a star because this version uses pancetta and Parmesan instead of guanciale and Pecorino, but it still stands out as one of the best Carbonaras in town. This place is somewhat of a local legend. I’ve been meaning to come here for a while, but I’m quite lazy and I haven’t stayed down near the Albert Dock recently, so it’s had to wait until that came around again.. Anyhow, that time has now come and so I took the opportunity to visit on a grey and windswept summers day, as squalls whipped across the dock and tourists ran for cover.
The restaurant itself is in one of the dockside Pavillions - if you’ve been here, you’ll know the score. Beautiful brick buildings that were rescued from dereliction in the mid-1980s; former warehouse buildings, they have brick vaults, low ceilings and loads of character. Some of the refurb is a bit 80s’tastic, as you’d expect, but it has mainly stood the test of time well. Gusto itself is in one of the first pavilions that you come to as you come in the main gate opposite the Hilton, next to the Dockmaster’s office. The entrance is discrete, as they all are here, with corner signage and an inset door. Inside, the restaurant is dark, although there is a wall of glass dockside, with views of the water and the boats.
Seated straight away on what appeared to be quite a busy night, the service was good and drinks etc were offered quickly. They had Noam, which is quite a fancy beer that I’ve only had previously in Gaucho - it’s a German-style beer that comes in quite a fancy bottle. Love a fancy bottle.
I wasn’t actually very hungry, so I was focussed on smaller meals that packed a punch in terms of flavour, rather than a pizza or something like that (their pizzas are good though - had one in Edinburgh). To start, I chose the arancini - this was an excellent portion, three little arancini with mozzarella and saffron aioli. Big flavours and very rich. Hit. For a main, they had a three-meat lasagna, which sounded good - I actually saw someone else having this, so knew the portion was reasonable. A bit weird it didn’t say what the three meats were - I assume pork, chicken and beef? - but overall the flavour was good. The waiter seemed to think I would need sides, but it really didn’t need sides - I guess I could have had garlic bread, but it didn’t need it. Some people might order chips with it, but that would be greedy.
No pudding on this occasion, as I was full, but they do a very nice tiramisu - as I recall from Edinburgh, they serve this from a big bowl at the table. I mean, that’s a degree of theatre I don’t necessarily need in my life, but it does presumably demonstrate that the tiramisu is freshly made in house. That’s nice.
Overall I would definitely eat here again - this is a nice restaurant, the food was pretty good value and the service was efficient and friendly - if you like cocktails etc, then there seemed to be a lot of that going on as well behind me, with much rattling of the cocktail shaker. I think next time I’ll have the garlic mushrooms to start and the salsicca pizza for a main - I will even splash out the 45p to make it a diavola with the addition of fresh chilli. Well done, two paws up. Recommended.

The restaurant itself is very nice. A good ambience, and wasn't over loud like in some when it's busy. We, 11 of us, sat down just after 1830 for a double birthday meal (my daughter and her partner).
When I looked at the menu, nothing jumped out me as something I wanted.
Everyone had a starter. I had the garlic dough petals. Sorry, and this just my opinion you understand, but they weren't anything to write home about. Don't know what everyone else had but my wife had the wild mushrooms. She said it was really nice.
I ended up having pizza. When it arrived I thought it looked dry. There wasn't much sauce on it at all, and I was right, it was.
My wife had Sea Bass which she loved, and to be honest, everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals too. Maybe I was just unlucky, I don't know.
Dessert was offered and we all had some. Although everything tasted great, it was overly priced. £9.50 for a slice of cheesecake? No need!
Sadly, I personally wasn't impressed but that's not to say others weren't. I found the over all experience over priced. We ended up paying over £53 per head (including service charge). Maybe I'm just tight fisted but I just didn't find it value for money.
The staff were great. All the meals arrived in good time and there were no mistakes. Can't knock them for that.
Sadly, I won't be going back but other members of my party might but I doubt it.

We really enjoyed a special occasion dinner. It was our first visit to Gusto. The decor was lovely and the restaurant was spacious, not too close with tables and not too loud.
The service from Mike was top drawer, he was very comfortable and just hit the right tone. I made a special request ahead of the dinner and he and the chefs looked after it perfectly.
The food was delicious and well portioned. We shared dough petals, two pastas, two sides and a dessert. All of it was fresh and lovely.

Blown away by this little gem!
I had spotted this place on find me gluten free and after seeing all the positive reviews decided to give it a try. The atmosphere on walking in was lovely and we was greeted by a lovely gentleman at the door who we later got chatting to called Yohan.
I was amazed by the insane amount of gluten free options on the menu, never have I been to a restaurant where you can order gluten free lasagne, so of course that’s what I got, I also shared a gluten free garlic bread with my husband and had the caprise starter, my husband had the calamari and seafood linguine!! Now when I say this food was on another level… the lasagne was perfect, the gluten free garlic bread wasn’t like your normal frisbee type gluten free rubbish you get in most places you could literally tell the dough had been freshly made!! My husband absolutely loved his and honestly there wasn’t a single thing we could fault!! Special thanks to the lovely gentleman yohan he genuinely was the most loveliest person and you can tell he really cares about his customers and takes an interest in the people he is serving! I will most definitely be back..

Myself and sister came here as I read it had a good choice of gluten free options. It did not disappoint. Near enough everything on the menu could be made into a gluten free option. There was even a choice of dessert which is rare to find. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who were really helpful and made sure I got the correct meal. Great Italian, I had the Artisan Pasta and it may have been the best I’ve tasted around the country, music around and not that busy, Countless options to choose from and Gluten Free and such options for everyone, seafood was prepared well and the Rump Steak was cooked to how I asked, a tip: Don’t be afraid to use the salt and pepper given to you it could change the meal. The garlic bread and ciabatta is a must have for starters, and if coming for family it’s just enough to satisfy four. Would come back if I lived in Liverpool but overall amazing Italian.

Fabulous food. So good I returned the following evening to have the prosciutto carbonara again! Had Arancini for starter one night, and garlic bread the next night (garlic bread is always my fav). Great place, though a bit pricey.
Wish they didn't charge for soda water though, as that does feel stingy. TGI Friday's don't charge for soda water. So the second evening I requested tap water with my mocktail instead of soda water.

Of all the times we’ve eaten at Zizzi, this has definitely been one of the more disappointing experiences. First of all, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were generally served promptly and didn’t have to wait long.
But then something happened that really made me raise my eyebrows. One of the waiters dropped a small pot of tomato sauce while clearing our table. No big deal – these things happen. Apart from the floor and a small part of the wall, nothing else got dirty. The waiter immediately informed his colleague behind the counter. She sprang into action right away and started mopping up the mess with some paper towels. “What great teamwork,” we thought at first. But then we noticed that she only wiped away the biggest spill and then very strategically placed the ‘Caution Wet Floor’ sign over the rest. The waiter who dropped the sauce came back shortly afterwards to finish cleaning up, or so we thought. Unfortunately, it was a half-hearted effort: quick and careless. The tomato stains were still stuck to the wall, and the ‘Caution Wet Floor’ sign was left there, awkwardly in the way.
That’s when we started to look a bit more critically, and other things stood out:
The counter was an absolute mess. There was a rubbish bag on top, staff drinking glasses, a few of their mobile phones, plates for setting tables…
Behind the counter, a cupboard was left open, crammed with cardboard packaging.
On the floor by the counter, there was first one and then two large empty boxes.
All in all, very untidy.
And then the food:
For starters, we had the cheese fondue – absolutely delicious. Truly brilliant!
For the main course, we both had pizza, but it was extremely dry. Hardly any tomato sauce, and the cheese was overcooked…
And finally, the noise. At least half of it definitely came from the staff and their work: the kitchen was quite loud – not from the cooking (that’s part of the charm) – but from loading and unloading the dishwasher. On top of that, behind the counter, it seemed to be tradition to throw glass bottles into the glass bin with a crash. Really a shame – and very unpleasant.

Fantastic Zizzi restaurant. Drinks were served quickly and allergies taken seriously - our young waitress was really friendly, inviting and she was a great server.
For food, I had the Chianti Beef Ragu - absolutely deiclious. Great quality meat, red wine sauce was top notch and the pasta was smooth. Portion size needs to increase but other than that, it was spot on.
Other party member had the goats cheese pizza - although it looks overwhelming, the bases is spread so thin, there isn't that much really. Tasty and would eat again.
Defo recommend going - Zizzi seems accessible for all age groups and party sizes.

First of all, there was outside seating available but we decided to sit inside. The service was amazing and very warm and welcoming. Took to our tables inside and order our drinks and food promptly. I decided to get a Spaghetti Bolognaise and my partner got a Carbonara and I have to say, the food came out quickly and fresh and hot. It was phenomenal; so we decided to stay for dessert. One of my new favourite Italian places in Liverpool!
They have one of the biggest wine lists I’ve seen — nearly 30 options in total, including red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines. I chose the Primitivo, and it was absolutely perfect.
The service was great — the team really looks after you and there are plenty of staff around. We ordered a spicy pepperoni pizza, which was delicious, and a pancake with chicken, mushrooms, and cheese sauce — such a nice surprise!
I wasn’t too hungry that day, but I’ll definitely come back soon for a full meal. A fantastic spot for Italian food and wine lovers! 🍷🍕

I’ve seen many good things about this restaurant on tik tok and etc. so i thought to book.
20 minutes passed since we ordered our main and starter,we received a starter of garlic bread and calamari,which was fine considering the place was busy..the standards i had were pretty high as an italian myself,and the aestethic of the restaurant matching the stereotype of a rustic style italian restaurant.
Unfortunately the calamari was cold,battered flaking,barely edible.
The garlic bread with rosemary had burnt “rosemary” on top,so i complained and the matter was resolved with a switch of starter-to good quality pork ribs but cooked in a sauce that resembles burger king sauce.
I know the floor staff have no fault for the food quality,but apart from that,they lacked basic memory,we asked twice for our drinks and it took 5 minutes before we asked a different waiter.
They need a bit more training or less hours because i understand you can’t handle everything at once,but it was ridiculous how they were rushing and also doing nothing at the same time.
Then,30 minutes after the starters came the mains- lobster ravioli,fillet steak and some oven cooked potatoes that came with the steak.
Lobster ravioli had no sign of lobster,awfully sweet and i thought i was eating canned ravioli.Upsetting as they were no less than £15 and the steak and drinks had already come to a £100 bill.
The steak in my opinion was perfectly cooked,but i have no idea why the kitchen sent out undercooked onions and cold tomatoes on the side..the potatoes were okay,but after such an experience i definitely did not want to order dessert-although they walk around with the dessert cart.
The temperature of the restaurant is around 25-30°,it’s far too hot to ignore.

I can't fault the food or our server. The prawns in the main were cooked well. Flavour profile was well balanced although a little spicy (which I like).
However there was a problem with the rock paper scissors game 2 for 1 desserts offer. The dessert menu states that if we ask the server to play rock-paper-scissors and win then we get the offer. I won but after a short pause I was told it was best of 3, and subsequently lost. This is a misleading offer because the menu does not state that multiple rounds must be played. It is contrary to the Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and a potentially non-transparent term/not as described contrary to the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Where terms of an offer are ambiguous, it is the interpretation most favourable to the Consumer that is enforceable. Additionally, terms that are altered after accepting an offer are also not enforcable. I therefore ask, nicely, that the rule of 3 is made clear on the menu, and I ask that should we decide to visit again, that the offer be honoured retrospectively our desserts as the food was very good and we enjoyed our visit.
The desserts were nevertheless very good. Very rich in flavour.
Our server was friendly and the service was generally good.

We were celebrating exam results, and Prezzo New Brighton really delivered.
The restaurant was bustling when we arrived, but we were seated quickly and although we were made aware that there could be a slight delay with the food, after we ordered we didn't notice any delays at all.
All the food that came out was piping hot and absolutely delicious.

We booked here for our son's 18th birthday. I cannot fault the venue at all. The staff where amazing and so accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Even the game of rock paper scissors was a laugh with our server. The birthday boy loved it. Considering there was 14 of us Jo went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our night. The food was prompt and delicious. It was presented beautifully and was served hot. Id like to thank the staff working New Brighton Prezzo on Friday 7th November. We'd never been before and im not a fan of chain restaurants. We were in a rush and the staff went out of their way to help. Riva Blu Italian Restaurant & Bar in Liverpool was such a pleasant surprise. The food was absolutely delicious – everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and really well prepared. We didn't have a reservation but tried our luck after a few drinks nearby. It was a busy Saturday night here so I wasn't too optimistic but much to our pleasant surprise we were seated at a nice outside table and quickly served with our drinks as we chose our food.

Amazing food and service on a busy and stormy (outside) Friday night. After a short delay to get our booked table, Christian our server was very attentive. Good choice of classic Italian favourites with a twist. All food was served fresh and portion sizes were good. We were asked about allergies at the beginning of the meal. Would recommend Riva Blu in Liverpool, it is on Castle Street and an easy walk to and from Lime Street and Central Stations. Whether it is a special occasion, work dinner or dinner with pals- give it a go! The music was quite loud, the decibel alarm on my watch went a lot during the evening. Wow! Just delicious. We got the sharing charcuterie to start and everything was super fresh and absolutely delicious. I then got the fish and my partner for the tortellini with a Caesar side. Good italian food from a very friendly team
We visited on a weeknight for a quick meal and were not disappointed. I would highly recommend booking ahead table in advance as the restaurant gets busy.
On arrival, we got seated just at the entrance and got our drinks orders in immediately. Drinks arrived almost immediately, and then we got shown to our table. Meals were ordered, and they came in good time.
From the starters menu, I would highly recommend the scallops or calamari, whilst from the mains the wagyu lasagna 😋 is just the best. Portion sizes were quite generous
The team at Piccolina were polite and very friendly. They consistently checked up on us throughout the evening, refilling drinks when required.
I would highly recommend visiting Piccolono Liverpool if / when you are in the area.

Picturesque and worth visiting, however found more information about it's history from outside of the fort and online. Liked the idea of the cafe, but on entering it was very dark and dismal. We didn't feel comfortable so walked out and went elsewhere. Still, it was nice to see from the outside and it's worth doing your own research. WOW - You can see across the whole of the city of Liverpool. Then come the evening the sunsets are immense as well as seeing the city in lights. We were in awe of the view. Next day we headed up for light dinner instead of the beautiful Gino D Acampo restaurant downstairs. Food was OK - wine was deliciously chilled. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

This rooftop bar rides mainly on the name of the owner, because there isn’t much else really going on. The 360 degree view is really over hyped, unless you’re into watching neighboring rooftops. The decor is modern and , unfortunately the staff are not really up to scratch. I mean the person manning the entrance was clear, “this is a bar with food”, but when a server delivers a dish and he has no clue what he’s serving, goes back to ask what he just delivered and returns with the wrong name of dish, it doesn’t augur well. I guess good people are hard to find, though high prices are rather easy to charge. Not to mention other gaffes like serving wine without asking us to sample it or pouring the second bottle straight into the glasses on the table. Did I mention the tatty menus? It wasn’t a great experience- I like the guy’s TV shows, but wasn’t impressed with his bar operation in Liverpool.

We recently stayed at INNSiDE by Meliá Liverpool and visited the 360 Sky Bar during our visit. There had been a slight mix-up with our room – nothing to do with the Sky Bar – but we ended up speaking with the Sky Bar Manager, Hayley who had warmly greeted us on our arrival.
She truly went above and beyond for us. We had been given some drinks tokens as a goodwill gesture, and we asked if we could have something other than Prosecco, as we were hoping for soft drinks instead. When I explained to Hayley why we’d been given the tokens – even though the issue had nothing to do with her or her team – she took the time to really listen and understand what had happened.
Hayley then went out of her way to speak with the hotel management to see what could be done to make our stay special. Again, this wasn’t something she needed to do – it wasn’t her department – but she genuinely cared and wanted to help in any way she could. She made our daughter’s 21st birthday incredibly special and memorable – she absolutely spoiled her and made her feel like a VIP. We went on to have some cocktails which were delicious and the desserts here are so good too! Views from here are stunning, especially at sunset.
Hayley is an absolute credit to the Sky Bar and the hotel. Her hospitality skills are exceptional, and her team is clearly a reflection of her brilliant leadership. We felt truly looked after, and she turned a frustrating situation into a really positive experience.

We booked a table in advance, and as soon as we walked in, we were seated right away, which was a great start to the evening. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and we immediately felt comfortable.
We decided to go all out and ordered a starter, main course, dessert, and a selection of cocktails. We had my mum’s 50th birthday and we had the best night of our lives thanks to Ismael and Elliot
Ismael and his manager Elliot went above and beyond for us. Isma was really charismatic and took our order really promptly, while also advising us of what the best drinks are. He was so funny as well, he made my mum laugh which is really hard to do. He was busy on other tables too, but it was like he was everywhere at once. Like an omnipresent ghost that gets you alcohol and food. We appreciated that because we were so hungry at one point, and he recommended the prawn bruschetta. We ordered it and it came so fast!!! And it was delicious.
Thanks to Ismael we had the best night of our lives and we cannot understate how good of a waiter he is. His performance is unparalleled, and his skills unmatched by any other waiter I’ve ever come across. There is no one like Ismael, and good thing he’s working where he is, because he is 100% driving sales up. Make sure you compensate him appropriately.
Anyway I would recommend this place as long as Ismael is in, you will not regret it.

Staying in Liverpool came across what we thought would be a fab little Italian , how wrong were we. There were 5 of us some food came out and because my friend was waiting a while for hers she was offered a glass of wine FREE which she declined and said it was fine. Once her lasagna arrived it was cold in the middle, so we did not make a fuss as the restaurant was full, she quietly told the waiter and refused another as waited long enough for that one, I shared my food with her.
We were then offered deserts to share as a gesture for the poor food, again we declined and said it was fine.
When the bill arrived it stated £15.80 for a glass of what we thought was medium wine as that was what was ordered. We got a menu that stated £11.60 so we asked the waiter why it was that price on the bill, to be advised it was a large glass that had been given. After a conversation an amendment was made to the bill however the owner a female decided to stand there clapping her hand loud shouting thank-you thank-you in a very aggressive loud manner .
Initially we ignored her as the restaurant was very busy and started to leave, after paying the bill and leaving a tip for the waiter, however I went back and asked why she felt it was acceptable to act that way to her customers.
She argued that she is running a business and we should have paid for the large wine as that’s what was provided, even though it was a medium that was ordered?
She was very rude but as I pointed out we had not accepted anything free so why would we dispute £4.20 if a large had been ordered?
I understand small businesses need to work hard to survive however I feel she needs some training in communication and customer service as this type of behaviour is totally unacceptable.

Highly recommended Italian restaurant! I was walking around the center of Liverpool when this place immediately caught my eye—elegant and well-organized. Stayed for a few days in Liverpool and had breakfast at Ninellos . I can honestly say it was the best vegetarian breakfast I’ve ever eaten. My husband had the full English every day and enjoyed every bite of it.
