The fish was fresh, and crispy. Fried really well. The fish tacos were enjoyed by my sister in law, and the clam chowder was tasty. It’s not a thick, creamy chowder, but it jad a decent flavor. The clams were sparse, so that would be a nice improvement, but it was flavorful. The waitress was friendly, and the food was hot when she brought it out. We enjoyed our meal, but I’m not sure we’ll go again. There are other places in the area whose fish and chips and clam chowder are just a bit better.

So much perfection we went back the next night for more and if we were in town any longer, we would have went back again! The first night since we'd already had several cups of chowder on our walk, we skipped the soup. Boy did we regret that decision after having the Hungarian Mushroom soup our second night, it was rich and decadent with an earthiness that we couldn't get enough of! Service both evenings was top notch, genuine and attentive. The restaurant is warm and cozy while being modern and updated with gorgeous views of the Columbian river. Highest of recommendations to Bridgewater Bistro!

The clams weren't chewy, the chowder was nice and thick (which I'm big fan of) and overall very nice and flavorful. My Jambalaya dish was delicious..full of spices, loaded with plenty of crawfish, shrimp, andouille sausage, tasso ham AND salmon!! My wife's Mac and Cheese was heavenly! Brocoli comes with this dish as well, which was perfect for dipping in the cheesy goodness. Every bite had crab and bacon in it. The cheese was creamy and sharp! The French bread along with it only added to the flavor experience. Both dishes were huge in proportions so definitely bring your appetite. This is such a fun place to grab a hot coffee in the morning and overlook the river. The food (with the exception of the pastries) is made to order. Place is pretty clean and fairly busy at this lunch stop but service was prompt. I orders a super burger which is a 2/3 lb patty. Last time was during the summer where we enjoyed ceviche out on the back deck overlooking the river. This time it was rainy and cold out, so we enjoyed the green chicken pozole special and the birria tacos featured on the back of the menu inside. Food was once again excellent. Do not pass up an order of chips (with pico de gallo or guacamole or that excellent ceviche). Their hot sauces are tasty and seriously hot. You usually get good eats here. For a brief moment the quality seemed to have been taking a nose dive, but the last two times I went, it seemed as if they were back on their game. This time I chose the Halibut Fish and Chip Special. The fried halibut was nice and crispy. Possibly a touch too dark, but still tasty. Their sweet potato fries were plentiful and flavorful. We first stopped in for some fresh clams and were pleasantly surprised at not only the fish selections but how great their prices were in comparison to other places I’ve been to along the Oregon coast. We ended up buying steamer clams, sea bass and frozen snapper. They had a wide selection of both fresh and frozen seafood along with an array of exotic meats like alligator. We Also discovered they serve food for dining so we ordered the salmon melt and clam strip basket, believe me when I tell you it was the best and freshest seafood meal we’ve had in a LONG time! Colorful interior. It took a bit to get recognized and get seated. Rear parking was unexpected and appreciated. Location is super convenient, although a little hard to stop at first. I called our order in in advance and they had everything ready in about 10 mins. My husband had the breakfast burrito, which he really enjoyed. I ordered the avocado toast. After I left I reached in to grab a fry out of the bag (fresh fries are the best fries) but realized that there was a pretty big order accuracy discrepancy (they forgot 3 small fries and 3 4PC nuggets) so it required me to return to the restaurant to resolve, upon entering the lobby it confirm my eariler notion that they were busy, the lobby appeared to be clean and maintained. When I went up to the counter the same gentleman who brought me my order immediately came up to the counter and addressed me asking if they had forgotten something, after explaining what was missing he immediately apologized and went to retrieve the forgotten items, he even retrieved some dog treats for my dog. Now to the food quality whelp I have to say everything I ordered was hot, fresh, the burgers were even neatly put together(which seems to be rare nowadays), i mean if the cheese is so far misaligned that you have a 1/2 cheeseburger 1/2 hamburger lol .
