Some attention to detail stops this from being a truly great meal. Again portions are huge. The brie was well paired flavor wise. A little scrap of plastic wrap still on the cheese is an unpleasant miss at these prices, again, lack of attention. Mains, pretty decent. The sauces were excellent. The gnocchi are some of the best I’ve ever had, including some pretty fancy restaurants. The veal could have used more tenderizing, and the breading was a bit soggy. If breading is already falling off while it’s plated and before it reaches me something isn’t right. Overall a good meal, helped immensely by wonderful service, but I think for the price I’d have wanted a little more attention to detail with the food. Gnocchi were world class though and kinda save it.

The only miss I would say was the two cream based dishes, the limoncello mussels and gorgonzola gnocchi. The cream muted out both of those dishes so much so the limoncello was not particularly detectable, and the same with the gorgonzola gnocchi. The gnocchi themselves were delicious, but the person who has the gnocchi had me try them to see if she was served Alfredo by mistake. I could smell the gorgonzola, but agreed, could barely taste it. Service was excellent and the decor was quite fancy. Food options are solid too. Depending on what type of pizza person you are this may be right up your alley. Got the Matteo pizza and it’s made neopolitan style with mascarpone cheese and prosciutto. The flavour was excellent and the dough had a nice chew to it. If you don’t like floppier pizza and no crisp then it’s probably not for you. The braised lamb main was excellent as well. Very tender and flavourful. The way they made it was kind of similar to eating pulled pork. Location is great too given it’s located in the heart of Oakville so it’s very lively in the area and a nice place to go walk around.

This is literally a large long rectangle with low ceilings, limited decor of Wayfair mirrors and light fixtures thrown up in the walls and wood tables flanked by plastic chairs. When burrata came out, it was served with 2 giant pieces of focaccia! We literally didn’t touch our separate order. We mentioned this to another server and he suggested we take it home with us. I had expected not to be charged for the extra bread but of course we were. The burrata itself was delicious but presentation was terrible, instead of showcasing the beautiful colours of the peppers and beet juice, it was buried under the cheese and the entire plate was covered with plain, not so fresh looking arugula which was just an odd and underwhelming first impression. Our main meals were pretty good, I had seabass which I found lacking in flavour and husband had pasta with meat sauce. We skipped dessert as portions were large. Overall there is nothing to bring us to return, there are several other restaurants in downtown Oakville that offer a much better atmosphere, service and comparable if not better food.

Based on pictures & great reviews, I booked an appointment seven months prior to our event to check out the spaces (there are 2 event rooms - a smaller room inside of the main restaurant that fits approx. 24 ppl, & a larger private room with a separate entrance off of the left side of the restaurant that fits 60 ppl). We met with Michele (General Manager) & immediately felt ease with him, & knew that the vibe/aesthetic of the larger room was what we were looking for. We chose Menu #1 (Family Style): started with the mezzo antipasta, mista salad & added margherita pizzas. We then had 1 pasta (Casarecce Alla Boscaiola - cream sauce with bacon & peas), 2 meats (chicken piccata with lemon sauce & veal scallopine with mushroom sauce), served with roasted veggies & potatoes. The food was plentiful, hot, fresh & absolutely delicious! Our server Mavis was amazing & worked so hard to ensure our day ran smoothly. She constantly checked in with me to make sure we were on schedule, & that guests were always taken care of by clearing their dishes & serving them drinks. I was able to bring my own cake, desserts, & fruit trays. Mavis also helped me assemble dessert trays & cut the cake. Michele checked in throughout the event to ensure everything was going well! Leyton was so helpful, especially with the cleanup at the end of the night. Overall, our event was a big success! Many guests raved about the food, service & atmosphere. I am pleasantly surprised at how much the team at Verace exceeded my expectations! I will definitely use them again for future events & have been recommending them to all my family & friends.

Strip. It's location belies its elegance and understated charm. It's fancier than it looks from the outside and its warmly but dimly lit interior softens up an austere and well proportioned dining room with a semi open kitchen at the back. It was one of the finest dining experiences we have had in the Toronto area ever. We had never eaten there before but are both fans of Chef Capra. We secretly hoped we’d see him in action but he was likely taking a well deserved evening off. But that didn’t sour the evening. First of all, the menu had such a variety of things to choose from and the wine list had such variety - there’s no doubt that they can accommodate any budget and you will have a fantastic evening. We started off with some cocktails before our bottle of wine. We then shared the beef carpaccio and the bruschetta- both I would suggest were the best we’ve ever had of those items ever. We then shared a short rib tagliatelle and then the entree of the lamb shank. Again, both just absolutely fantastic. We really wanted to treat ourselves with it being our anniversary and boy did we ever. But the star of the evening was our server Sean. I would suggest he again set a new high standard. As I noted earlier we were sharing some dishes. At other restaurants they’d give us a plate each and put the dish in the middle. Which is fine. But Sean went above and beyond splitting the course in front of us. But with such passion and presentation. He went out of his way to engage with us and even gave us two glasses of sparkling wine to celebrate our anniversary. This is a long review. But its the only way I could fully capture how perfect the evening was. From greeting to ending with a tiramisu with candles on it - the whole staff from the kitchen to front of house did Massimo proud and I really do hope he sees this. We will now become regulars… with the drive from Newmarket. Thankfully we stayed close by at a hotel and Ubered so we both could enjoy all the aspects of the evening. Service was excellent, our server was great. Cocktails were great, but the food was a major letdown. Tonight we decided to splurge and order from Peppino’s instead of our usual pizza place since it is highly rated. I’m not sure if they were having an off night but for more than double the price of what we usually pay, we got poorly cooked, sloppy pizza (see images). She says it was “fine” and she had leftovers. I tried the New York style wings and the prosciutto pizza. The wings were excellent, especially the sauce. The pizza was good but prepared oddly. The pizza was cooked and sliced but after it was sliced they added arugula and the prosciutto which actually made the pizza difficult to eat. Perhaps if the prosciutto was sliced into small pieces and then added it wouldn’t have been such a difficult process trying to reslice the pizza in order to serve the pieces. We ordered a Large Margherita, Large Veg Tikka, and Med Cheese Pizza. Since we did take out, I gave more consideration to the experience since the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Also I specifically asked that the topping are on top of the cheese but instead it was very disappointing to see the cheese on top of the toppings. I didn't want to complain therefore they have lost my business instead. I gave them a 2 star beacuse the pizza actually tastes alright. What even more upsetting is we live less then 5 minutes from the place.

The staff is always so incredibly kind any time we order takeout pizza and they are super quick and efficient with orders, making sure to call you if you are a few minutes late for your pick up time. This is because they want to make sure you knew you ordered it for pick up and not delivery, as I guess that has happened and people mixed it up with ordering online thinking they ordered delivery but they really ordered for pickup. My husband is personally a huge fan of the meatball subs here as well. We would choose Toppers over Domino’s any day, just based on quality, ingredients and overall taste. We popped in to do take out. I was so excited to see they offer panzerotti not just baked but also fried! It's so hard to find a restaurant that offers it fried anymore. Then I saw the sign they were the semi-finalist for Ontario's Best Veal Sandwich 2019! We ended up ordering the Caprese salad, veal sandwich and the fried panzerotti and stayed to eat in! The nice surprise is how delicious the tomato sauce was that came with the panzerotti!! This real family owned restaurant with delicious dishes, simple decor and lots of free parking beats the Downton Oakville spots!

I recently moved into the area and found this place close by. The place already had great reviews so I decided to check it out. I have no regrets. Food was delicious. The ambiance is good. It has a chill "friends" style coffee house vibe. They wide variety of flavors. They even cater for large orders. First time I ordered food for 10 people at my work. Raquel/Rachel at the front was incredibly welcoming. The menu was wonderful to choose from. Lots of seafood and vegetarian options. We did decide to see what else was good and ordered the grilled calamari which is where things went south. It was a bit too chewy and tasted like charcoal rather then Calamari, but the restaurant were so concerned that we did not like it, they decided to not charge us for it. Of note, even though we arrived a few minutes after the posted closing time, we were warmly welcomed and told not to feel rushed as we made our selections. After I had paid, we were also generously gifted a slice of wonderful pizza which was devoured before we even made it back to our car (so in addition to the pasta and meat sauce we also recommend the pizza!)
