It was extremely expensive and disappointing. The caesar salad looked like it was 3 days old and from a pre-packaged supermarket. The quality was terrible. The lettuce was translucent and brown. My partner ordered the specialty dry aged steak and asked the waitress to put the sauce on the side not on the steak. The waitress acknowledged this and had a conversation about how most patrons like the sauce on the side. When the steak came it was drenched in sauce. We spoke to the manager who insisted that "THATS HOW IT COMES" and was quite rude, gesturing to the menu, loudly arguing and refusing to acknowlege the mistake. We told her to speak to the waitress and ask her what we ordered. The manager spoke to her staff member, came back and said "there was a communucation error" but offered no appology. I feel that the kitchen sent a regular steak which apparently comes drenched in sauce and not the dry aged that was ordered, realised their mistake and tried to hide it. Really disapointing, I get people make mistakes but for the manager to highlight us infront of the whole restruarant and offer no appology after she realised the mistake was really disapointing. We also ordered churros which we never got. The drinks were great and my husband loved the paddle - and the Prosecco was perfect for a warm sunny day I will try the grovedale one next time.

We were accommodated quickly and served drinks fast. The cocktails were refreshing. Pacing of the food was nice and I was so relieved that our kids meals came out first. I recommend booking before visiting. The sparking apple juice had a funny taste I wasn’t able to finish it but the cocktails I saw customers had ordered looked amazing. The bao and lamb ribs were excellent, fresh and perfectly cooked and served. The vibe and atmosphere and the prices are all within the value range. Cassava chips are pre-made and is served below the room temperature. So will definitely visit again but won’t try cold cassava chips.

Thought going to dinner might be a lovely way to end our day together. As we weren't familiar with what was available locally, we resorted to the internet & stumbled upon the Ming Village Chinese Restaurant. We parked in a two hour zone on the street, @ no cost. At 5.45pm on a Tuesday, parking wasn't difficult to find. The restaurant is tucked away from the corner of the main strip, & is accessed by a short, steep flight of stairs. Difficult for those with mobility issues. It wasn't busy, but others were also dining. We were promptly seated & given menus. Our orders were taken as soon as we were ready. The food arrived piping hot, was fresh, & perfectly cooked. The staff were friendly, polite. & efficient. Payment is either cash or card, & the pricing reasonable. We didn't book ahead, but I can see where it might be busy on weekends. Well worth visiting if you enjoy Chinese food.

We were told that the seating ended at 7:15pm which would usually be fine if the food arrived promptly. However, we ordered by 6pm and only received our corn chips and salsa at 6:38pm, with our mains only arriving at 6:55pm. The young waitress did offer us some complimentary corn chips to make up for the delay which was nice and was really the only good customer service of the night. Understandably, things are much more difficult with covid, and we have never eaten here before so can't comment on the service usually. On a positive note the food was very tasty and fairly priced, we ordered the rice salad and quesadilla which were comparable to Fonda in Melbourne. I would recommend this place if you are not in a hurry and not fussed about good customer service.

Lamb gyros and octopus over charcoal is our favourite here. Everything is fresh and so very tasty. And if you like hot chips…we think they double or triple cook their chips so they are very yummy. There is a small selection of wine and beer. If you like dessert, try their orange “cake”. Yum. So tasty.

We headed down to Torquay hoping that most diners would be at the nightjar market. We happened upon Dough Bros by chance. Lots to like. Great variety of sizes available in their pizzas, meaning that you can tailor to suit your appetite. My other half was impressed with the $6 beers! Pizzas were great, with generous toppings. Everyone interacted with us with big smiles, and it was a positive experience all round.
