We both had the Chicken Madison, side pasta, a big fresh salad and endless buttered garlic rolls. The salad, rolls, and drinks came out minutes after our order was taken. The Chicken Madison is in a class of it's own, tender chicken breast in a wine sauce with mushrooms, absolutely delicious. Not only was the food excellent, our server was attentive without being intrusive. Every time we dine at TJ's on the Avenue we have a fantastic experience. That said I think, although the food is excellent, it is way overpriced. Yes the calamari was tender and not over breaded but it is supposed to be rings not noticeable tentacles and the quantity for 17 is quite small. Also the 3 cheese ravioli was the best I have eaten but 8 pieces is not much for the price. The bread was excellent but they offered no more. Stuffed peppers and shrimp diavolo were also great. Our server was extremely slow as was food service. Sorry it's not for me. Other places are quite nearly as good and much less pricey. Oh and zero cell service.

I got the Chicken Diavolo and it was very good. There is one page of the menu that features what says is daily fresh made pasta...want to try some more of those. I reached out to Zappitelli‘s to see if they could cater her wedding on short notice. Her wedding was only about four weeks out when I called. I was told no problem and the young lady took my Request and gave me a quote which I thought was reasonable, especially on such short notice for Catering. The next day I received a phone call from Anthony saying I ordered too much for the amount of people we went back-and-forth for a few days and they nailed it. Can you believe or even imagine a restaurant that was so honest and so service friendly that they would’ve made More money on my original order . They are just next level everything. The food was incredible. Every single guest asked where we got our food from it was hot was delicious and so reasonable.Any big event or small event for that matter I will 1 million times use Zappitelli. Again, honest and integrity and quality of food at its very highest level. If I could rate this at six, I would! Thank you Zappitelli for going above and beyond. The cavatelli came in a bowl the size of a large serving bowl that I use for family sized meals at home, the portion was astronomical. I will be eating the leftovers for several days. The meatballs are homemade, you can tell by their asymmetrical shape, the sauce is also homemade. If you're not a fan of an abundance of sauce, you could probably request a lighter amount. The sauce was the best I've had dining out in quite some time, not acidic at all, there was just a little too much of it. The meatballs were large, two were plenty. They were moist, tender and tasty. The pizza sauce and toppings were sufficient, not acidy. The pizza crust could have been a little thicker, but it was still good. Because our kitchen is out of commission due to asbestos removal at this time, we have been eating out frequently over the past 7 weeks. Zappitelli's was a refreshing meal out for us, served on plates, not in a bag tossed out a drive thru window. We will be returning, most likely with family members the next time they are in town.

But, it has been awhile. It was our first time actually eating at the restaurant on Sunday and I got the Chicken Piccata and pasta. I unfortunately wasn’t impressed with the Chicken. It had too much lemon taste to the point of being way too tart. The meat itself was tough and rubbery to the point I ended up having to throw half of each chicken breast out. I don’t know if it was undercooked or just a bad cut or what. The pasta sauce was just okay, but the meatball was really good. And, the salad was really good. For as much as we spent on my dinner, at $24.50, it should’ve been much better. Other than that, our waitress was very good. I’m not sure if I’d go back again or if I’d recommend it. I know that I’ve had much better Chicken Piccata and for a lot less.

The unique coal oven flavor and crispness of the crust is delicious. And the overall pizza has a wonderful flavor without being too greasy and salty like many other pizza joints. Ordered a pizza expecting the dough to be freshly baked when topped with the over priced toppings. Beyond words to explain how disappointed we were with this pizza. This was for a special occasion and wow what a mistake. They barely put any cheese and saying that is more generous than I would like to be. They take a pre baked dough slab and sauce it and "top" it and back in the oven to get that extra dry experience.
