It's a touristy place more than anything. My take: - Food: average to slightly above average. We had the fried calamari and Brussell sprouts which were both decent. Neither were great. We also had the tuna poke which was very good. We also had a blueberry infused beer which was good. - Service: Was excellent. Wait staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. No pressure. We ordered a full lobster (our first time in Maine, so we had to!) and the seafood pie, and both were incredible — so fresh and full of flavor. The menu has so many taste tempting offerings it’s hard to decide. I had the fish and chips which were outstanding! The batter was light and very crispy with delicious seasonings. My wife had the grilled haddock with Jasmine rice and grilled vegetables (green beans and carrots) which were flavorfully sautéed and crispy. Our server, Hannah was very gracious and professional and we never felt neglected. There is also a fun merch store downstairs where you can find any kind of items you might want for yourself or as gifts to take home. We would go back if we were in town longer!

The service was awesome. David, the host, was super welcoming and friendly, honestly the best we’ve ever had when visiting the West coast. The food was good. I had a burger that was pretty standard, nothing special, but my wife got the lobster plate and it was amazing. It came with clam chowder and a blueberry pie that were both so good. The lobster was big and totally worth it definitely pay the extra $4 to get it already out of the shell. Way less messy and easier to eat. From separate passed appetizer plates prepared for the bride and groom to ensure we had bites of everything, to supplementing our decorations with their own candles and fresh cut flowers, it seemed like they could read our minds with what we wanted and what we needed. When the night got cold, Christian pushed out hot apple cider for guests, and John made fresh French press decaf coffee for two guests (even bringing out his own roasted beans as a take-home gift for them). Blankets provided by Sweet Pea’s were a huge hit with guests, and were used all night long. Communication leading up to the event (and during the event) was so easy. We dropped decorations off to Sweet Pea’s the day prior to the event; it was arranged perfectly and even organized for an easy take home after. During our event, servers made sure to introduce themselves to our one gluten free guest who got multiple separate appetizers (something we didn’t ask for, but was just *done*), and she remarked that this was the best wedding reception/dinner she had ever been to. Not to mention, our food was incredible and guests raved all night long. When our guests ended the night tipsier than expected, Christian was quick to offer his catering van to bring guests back to our cottages down the road and insisted they could simply grab their cars the next day. After a long day of hiking in Acadia we stumbled upon Sweet Peas. This place is a little hidden gem right outside of Bar Harbor. Fresh farm to table food located on a beautiful property. We shared a special appetizer that was the freshest tomatoes i’ve ever had. We also had the chickpeas and Plancho Potatoes. Both of which were incredible. However, the star of the show was “The Plowman” pizza. So fresh and the sauce they put in the middle of the pizza is delicious to dip your pizza crust in. This was our first dinner after we arrived and I am so grateful this was the place we picked. A little pricey- 2 lemonades, bang bang shrimp appetizer, lobster mac and cheese, and teriyaki steak tips totalled $110 before tip - but worth it as a treat. All of the food we ordered was delicious and the mac and cheese especially was a decent sized portion and filling. The shrimp were crispy with the right amount of heat and the tips were flavorful. Highly recommend. We will back if we return to the area.

When going through the reviews, I wasn't too sure but we went anyway. Best lobster ravioli I've ever had. I only got the small portion and it was a very satisfying amount of food. We wanted to get something different after getting tired of lobster and being disappointed by some other restaurants in this area. I kept it simple with the Spaghetti Marinara with Meatballs and while the spaghetti itself was exactly what you would expect, their meatballs just took it to another level. They were packed with flavor and I just wish they had given me more than two! My wife got the Pan Browned Gnocchi and after trying some of hers I regretted not having ordered that for myself. It was absolutely amazing.. I don't know how they made that but wow.. Everything was cooked perfectly and it may be the best italian meal I've ever tasted. We were also pleasantly surprised to find that they gave us some veggies on the side in the form of brussel sprouts. We're not sure how they were cooked but they tasted great and we just scarfed it down. If we're ever back in Bar Harbor we'd definitely come here again.

It’s exactly what we ordered and it was even better than we hoped. We ordered a large (thinking small was personal and large was shareable) and it was huge. COVERED in scallops and lobster and shrimp. The crust was thin enough but held up to the toppings. Most importantly - it was soooo good. The two of us gave it our best go and still took some home. That was likely influenced by our shared clam chowder ahead of time. Which that requires its own praise. We’re from the PNW where chowder festivals and competitions are the norm, so we’ve had our fair share. But this stuff… it was so simple but it was some of the best we’ve ever had. Wish we could’ve taken a quart on the plane! Anyway, we’d easily recommend a stop here, it just for the novelty, but for a quality meal.

Chocolate cake donut was amazing and a great size to split. We wanted to try blueberry but they were sold out in the afternoon so make sure to go early if your want more options! After a long day of spending thousands on everything around bar harbor, all my family wanted was a nice cold sub and to just relax on our last day in this beautiful town. We decided to give this place a chance because they had “okay” reviews. Not only was the service terrible, it was basically non existent. We ordered 4 Italian subs, COLD subs, we ordered them and thought everything would be fine. After waiting a while, a couple behind us got their hot pizza which was both undercooked and overcooked at the same time. They left without taking a bite out of the poison in front of them. The building had humidity and was set to like 80° Fahrenheit making my whole family sweat just sitting there waiting for any word of our food. After waiting over an hour, we decided the wait wasn’t worth it and just left. We wouldn’t told our waiter but 1. We didn’t get a single thing from them the entire time we waited there(not even waters), 2. The waiter spent most of her time in the back room ignoring the growing line of poor suckers who are going to have to deal with this terrible experience.

Peace and tranquility are in abundance. Leaves are changing to Fall as of Sept 24th 2025. Bar Harbor and Kinnebunkport just became one of my top 3 vacations. Temperatures are perfect, the views are spectacular, the local slow-paced rhythm so you do not need to rush and lobster rolls everywhere! A lot of excursions available through Hotel to enjoy the natural beauty. This is what vacationing is all about. We flew into Bar Harbor airport on Cape Air from Boston and that was a breeze. Rented car to get around Bar Harbor then drove South to Kinnebunkport. The drive south to Kinnbunkport is about 3.5 hrs and is beautiful and easy drive. Spent time on the Maine coast. Your blood pressure should drop ten points while relaxing in this town. Portland is only 40 minutes away when time to turn in rental car and fly out of Portland.

It has luxury prices without the luxury. The service is Holiday Inn service...functional not particularly welcoming. The rooms are well done since they are new but there is no welcoming complintary water...plastic glasses...NOTHING extra. The food at dinner is ok. The breakfast was not good including the coffee. My husband is a pancake fan...they were inedible.
