Such an awesome addition to the lower mainland. Booths were spaced out and crowds were not too crazy. Tons of free samples and friendly sellers who had genuinely interesting products to see. Mulled wine, apple cider, and bratwurst was all cooked over an open fire in cauldrons which took the atmosphere to the next level. Very affordable compared to other holiday attractions in the city. Had been looking forward to trying Yunnan fusion food, but I guess our expectations were a little too high because the food was unfortunately very disappointing. The decor had solid instagrammable moments, and the shopping wall was a good idea, but our table was placed way too close to that wall, which was very awkward people wanted to have a bit of a browse. Our tasting menu started with a beautiful plate of thinly sliced cured duck, which was unfortunately not as tasty as it looked. In our second course, the salmon was overcooked, although the onion consomme poured over the rice was really delicious. The third course of asparagus was nothing special, although granted if it was a home-cooked meal and not the third course of an expensive tasting menu it would probably have been pretty good. The fourth course came in a gorgeous traditional lidded bowl, and the sablefish was incredibly smooth and silky, props for the excellent freshness! The broth itself had a fantastic kick, but the noodles had a distinctly cheap mass-produced texture which didn't live up at all to the weight of everything else. We sprung for the extra uni dumplings, but the steamed uni absolutely did not play well with the pork filling. Very disappointing, and not at all worth the top-up. The deep fried quail was... not at all crispy for having been fried. It was lightly smoked, which was very interesting, but the special plum wine sauce was about as fancy as the little packets of plum sauce from any chinese bbq place. The dessert was beautifully presented, but like the duck, it looked a lot better than it tasted. The cubes of premixed mango pudding mixed into the pu-erh jelly was confusing, and oddly enough we were given a single bamboo forest match mousse cake and a single chocolate lion with yuzu filling for two people to share, which is really not the most covid-friendly option. We didn't hugely mind though, because both the matcha mousse and the (admittedly grgeously moulded) chocolate lion were really very grainy in texture.

While the dinner menu is extensive, we dined for lunch with a flavour packed value meal combo that took us through an amazing journey of flavours and textures. The first course with the green Curry Soup, beef Slices with chilli sauce, and mango salad were a light start. Cool, crunchy, soft, creamy, smooth, and light were just some of the many words to describe the delicious start. This was followed by a heavier yet well portioned bowl of pork belly fried rice. Well seasoned and not oily as the pork belly bits helped to create the fat profile needed for fried rice was so good and addictive. This tiny dining establishment is in a rougher part of Granville. We walked by it twice and still had a hard time finding it. But once you do walk in, you're in store for a super dining experience. I don't know what it is about Breakfast sandwiches that's got our daughter hooked on them so much but I am definitely not complaining about it as she's learning to widen her taste palate and eat foods she's never really eaten much before, thanks to her new love of Vegan breakfast sandwiches. Grilled Cheese Sandwich is a simple dish that I could make at home so I don't usually order it, but a vegan version of it is a real treat as we don't often have Vegan cheese at home. I absolutely loved this Vegan Grilled Cheese Sandwich. The cheese was just as ooey and gooey as a regular Grilled Cheese Sandwich and it tasted so good with the Marinara sauce! They also have a fridge and freezer section where you can buy ready made food to go, or plant based foods to cook at home. I think I may do a bit of shopping on my next visit! But along came this place. Truly, The Workshop Vegetarian Café was a quirky, adventurous, and overall fun dining experience. I've been hearing alot of positive reviews about vaades on the north shore, and how the lunch specials hit the spot. The lunch special use to be 10.75 at their original location in North Vancouver. Even with inflation and years later, Vaades still remains reasonably priced at their new location in Langley currently. The lunch special has rice, naan, salad, a cup of savoury chickpeas in sauce, and your choice of lunch entree. I chose the pistachio curry chicken and the fish curry. Our level of spice we chose, extra hot. Our services were fantastic and it's a very cozy restaurant. Our food was amazing. I highly recommend the pistachio curry chicken. Every bite had the taste of pistachio. This was a really cool dish. I loved every bite. The naan was moist, the chickpeas submerged in spiced sauce was delightful, and the salad was refreshing. The basmati rice was cook beautifully. My friend had the spicy fish curry and it delivered. The fish was moist and the curry was so flavourful. Great value for lunch. I would recommend this place to anyone I know. Vaades will be missed the city of North Vancouver. But loyal patrons like myself don’t mind the travel. Some of the BEST Indian food I've ever had and that says a lot as I grew up with it living where I do. Initially, my boyfriend and I were going to get a light meal from a Japanese restaurant but we ended up parking nearby other places. So we figured why not check them out! The eatery is quaint & simple in decor and very clean. The service was efficient and friendly without being too much ...My sons gf is from India and knows great Northern Indian food and she loves this place. We had Pistachio curry chicken , a baked white fish , tandoori chicken , basmati rice, garlic naan and Papadum . I always though I didnt like Tandoori chicken but after having it here...I LOVE it . The white fish was so perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice and the pistachio chicken was mouth watering ...had a sauce that was great with the rice. We all just drank water so I cant report on beverages. There was some traditional music playing in the background and it was a lovely time spent catching up with my kids who took me here for a late birthday meal . My great grandparents, grandparents, my parents, family and friends used to all go there back when it was called Capilano Heights and they had the best food, service and atmosphere. Since it got taken over and renamed to CC’s, it has become so bad. The food tastes gross, nothing like it used to. The service is terrible, always takes a long time and often there was big lineups or wait times when we went in there. Atmosphere was terrible and I even saw someone posted a video of a rat running around inside the restaurant. Its so sad that a generational restaurant has become so bad. I hope that the older owners come back and make it great again like it used to be or better owners come in that can have the same quality that it used to be or better.
