Elegant decor with an overall stunning atmosphere. They have indoor and outdoor seating with heaters in the colder seasons. The food was some of the most flavorful Chinese dishes I’ve had in a long time! Off the servers recommendations, I got the Fried Rice with Roasted Duck. It had the perfect balance of earthy spices though I wish there was more duck to balance all the rice and veggies. The Pepper Steak was so tender with a hint of spice. Paired with a glass of Sangiovese Rose wine was a perfect combo. Pricing was fantastic for such large portions. Now if you are going on the weekend keep in mind this is a very popular place. We ended up waiting up to an hour before we were seated. But the wait was well worth the food. Parking was also very dicey, it’s paid to park and we had to circle the area several times before a spot opened up. And even then it was a 7min walk. But overall will definitely come back again!

The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere. There is plenty of shared parking, although it gets busy there is still plenty of room. The tables are separated by smoked plexiglass which I believe is new from COVID protocols but adds a bit more privacy so it is an added plus. The Spring Rolls and the crispy rolls are very good and come 6 to an order. The Masaman curry was very good and I opted for the upcharge for fried rice.

All the staff are attentive and the service is all the better for it. Be aware of the fact there per company policy, a customary 15% service charge is added to all parties of six or more, no matter how tickets are split. I recommend Forbidden City restaurant when you are interested in Asian cuisine and atmosphere.

However, overall, the food at this restaurant was disappointing, both in terms of portion size, balance, and flavor. For lunch, we ordered the steak skirt bento box, the spicy crab noodles, and the sunny side maki roll. First, the bento box came with a single skewer of steak which wasn't enough (the meat was also charred). While there were plenty of vegetables in the bento box, after finishing, I was still hungry. The maki roll contained cream cheese and smoked salmon, however the balance was off. There was too much cream cheese and it drowned out the flavor of the roll. Lastly the noodles, while were ok, was basically just a bowl of noodles without any sides. It was underwhelming. Would not come back.

My stomach is growling just from looking back at the pictures and writing it about it haha. And the mango sticky rice! The mango was so fresh and juicy. And the sticky rice had the perfect sweetness level. I wish they gave more sticky rice in proportion to the mango because there was much more mango compared to the rice. That's my only qualm with our dinner. For all the dishes though, food presentation was beautiful. When our server set our plates down, I was so impressed. I'm pretty sure I said "wow" every time she brought something over lol. We had a great experience and a fun girls night. I would definitely come back again, especially for the sushi. It's a solid 4.5/5 for me.

I wanted to give a full review of my experience and provide pictures that showed the whole place, so this might get a bit long... I ate here on a Sunday at 6PM. Like most buffets, its all about the timing when you go on the experience you will have. The restaurant was fairly busy and the food was pretty well stocked. I was greeted and shown to my seat by a friendly employee. I ended up trying as much as I could, taking a small portion of many items, 3 plates + dessert! They also offer plastic gloves so that you don't have to touch the community spoons and tongs that everyone is touching, so that was nice. I went up to get my first plate and was impressed by the selections they had. There were 6 food bars, a hibachi station and a sushi station. By the time I got back to my table, the drink I ordered was waiting for me. On my first plate I had Beef and broccoli, Chicken and broccoli, white noodles, sausage, shrimp, onion rings, an eggroll, sweet and sour chicken and pepper chicken. The sweet and sour chicken had just come out and it was delicious. The onion rings were old, so I didn't eat them, but everything else was surprisingly good! I had finished most of my soda by the time I finished my plate and when I returned with my second plate, it was filled for me again. For my second plate, I had another egg roll, some more sweet and sour chicken (they were yummy!), a cream cheese wonton, fried rice, green beans, a pot sticker, a fried corn cheese ball, fried fish, pepper chicken, chopped pork, curry chicken, orange chicken, sesame chicken and egg drop soup. Nothing too experiential on the dessert front although they do have a pretty good selection, just not many items that I was interested in. You can see the full selection in the photos. I had some orange slices, cantaloupe, fried donuts with sugar, a rolled cake and soft serve ice cream. The fruit was fresh and cold. The sugar donuts were pretty fresh and tasted good. The soft serve ice cream (well, non-dairy vegan friendly mixture) was cold and held up without melting right away and had a decent vanilla flavor. By the end of my second plate the waitress had already given me my bill and fortune cookie, but I didn't feel pressured to hurry up and finish and she even refilled my soda for a second time when it started getting low after giving me the bill. Speaking of the bill, under $16 for the Sunday buffet with a drink was very reasonable. I would definitely come back again and would recommend this Chinese buffet. Just make sure to go around the busy lunch or dinner times if you want the best chance of getting fresh selections.

There was an excellent selection of sushi. Buffet tables were kept fully stocked despite the low attendance tonight because of the exceptionally cold weather. Their servers did an excellent job in attending to our needs. On the negative side the whole place needs a major upgrade. Many of the booth's upholstery needed to be replaced and the walls and woodwork definitely show their age. The restrooms also could benefit from some attention. The ice cream Scoops were placed in one container that should have been replaced or replenished with clean water hours ago and someone needs to tell them how to make proper shrimp cocktail sauce. We enjoyed their better variety of items but we're somewhat turned off because of the condition of the inside. I'm not sure the better selection of items outweighs the overall condition of the inside.

The seating is collective in the sense that there are very few private tables. The front area seats about 30-40 people and then there is additional seating in the back 21+ age restriction. They have purchased some space next door to expand so I would imagine that will help since it gets pretty crowded later in the day. We enjoyed the panko fried mushrooms and the pickle plate which had Daikon radish, carrots and mushrooms. The ramen was really good and flavor was full. We go to a lot of ramen places and would say that this would be in the top. The only disappointment was the temperature. Some of the ingredients were still cold like the egg and the pork. Not sure what the cause of that was but the broth was not as hot as we expected. I would definitely give it another try when we are in the area.

I loved everything about this restaurant. The food was delicious, the Bubble tea was delicious, had a veggie crunchy spring roll and it was amazing, nothing like any spring roll I have eaten before. Tonight we celebrated a birthday with a large party and were wonderfully accommodated. On our way out we realized we locked our keys inside our car. Sean, the manager jumped into action helping us search the restaurant and the parking lot. As we waited for someone to unlock the door he offered cold waters and said he was so sorry we were inconvenienced. Hospitality like this in a stressful moment changed our entire evening. He continued to look for our keys just to be sure and checked in several times. We’ve come back often for the food, but we’ll come back again and again for that hospitality. Thank you, Sean!
