We had a lot more questions for the front desk than I've ever had at a hotel with navigating the ferry schedule, parking, renting a boat and getting around in general. Their staff was an absolute delight and SO helpful. A god send with getting around as Lake Como isn't as 'walkable' as Rome/Florence for example. Since you're high on a hill, the views are incredible from your room, pool and during the most delightful breakfast buffet - everywhere! I'd highly recommend renting a car. We just grabbed one in Milan then dropped it off when training down to Florence. It's cheap, easier to get to the hotel with it being on a hill (they have free parking! Can skip taking a train, ferry then taxi...), and we used it a surprising amount since the staff kindly directed us to free parking near ferries (limited, but an option if you go early). Lastly, I felt like the price was a steal, especially considering the value (views, nice room with A/C, pool, free breakfast, unmatched service) Thank you, Hotel La Perla!
