My wife had a grilled chicken dish in a bun which she said was cooked to perfection and delicious. Unfortunately no room for pudding probably on another visit we would share a starter as the portions are very generous both starters and mains. Service was very attentive had a young lady serve us who was relatively new to waitressing and she did a great job. Really enjoyed our Saturday evening at the Kings Head in Holt great food, service and value for money. We will return....

The staff were really helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble, after they checked us in and showed us round, we also were treated to a welcome drink. The room was very roomy, well decorated and had a fully equipped kitchen as well as tea, coffee, and biscuits supplied daily. The bed was very large and comfy and had lovely Egyptian white cotton linen which I love. Our breakfast was served over the road at Byfords and it was honestly the best breakfast I have eaten anywhere and would go back for that alone. We were only there two days for our trip but would definitely go back and stay there again.

Fantastic service. Beautiful stay. The service was second to none, all of the staff polite and worked like a well oiled machine making service absolutely seamless. Hands down best dessert I’ve ever had. So many wonderful and well thought out touches outside of the food including the where the cutlery is put for each table. The room was gorgeous, very comfy bed and pillows and extremely clean with everything that you could need for a relaxing stay. Everyone was very accommodating, I’m a pescatarian and they adjusted the menu accordingly. We had a last minute emergency resulting in a bit of a delay for us being able to make dinner and the whole team were wonderful and very understanding. Greg has thought about every detail and each dish has it's own story. From last season's cucumber, to the trout caught in a very specific location, at a certain time. Each dish is heaven and it's a tough job at the end to decide which is your favourite. Save yourself for dessert because that's an event in itself. We were made to feel welcome and enjoyed the atmosphere so very much. The Feathers is the jewel in the crown of Norfolk and dare I say Sarah is the princess of Holt, this was our second visit to this amazing establishment and we will always stay here when working in the area. I trust that the owners look after Sarah and Ella in the restaurant and bar area as they were excellent and on a busy Wednesday night of service they delivered to a professional and perfect standard. The rooms are clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable, I spend so many nights a year in hotels all over the UK for work and The Feathers feels like I’m coming home.

As we hadn’t booked I was quite surprised when I popped in at 3 o’clock that I could book a table for Sunday roast for anytime we chose from 3-6pm. The roasts were delicious, not large in my opinion but very tasty (and I’m always happy when you are given additional gravy in a small jug without having to ask; along with all the condiments). First off food - a great array of skills and styles on show, all of the dishes we had had great depth of flavour. It’s very rare not to have a signal negative comment about. It came to £50 a head but we did have 4 courses and 4 drinks. Service - very attentive and friendly, food came out quickly but didn’t feel rushed at all. What an honest, hard working, lovely, professional person. He catered for our wedding, serving canopies and a 3 course meal for 150 guests in September 2024 and let us tailor our own menu together exactly how we wanted. He also brought all the staff for the day but worked with us to keep things within budget all the time. All of the staff, headed by Charlotte, were amazing on the day and everyone who attended the wedding commented on how attentive and kind they were, which made the whole day a massive success. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were generous which is something that was important to us. Every dietary requirement was dealt with seamlessly. Overall it was an amazing experience and we feel very lucky to have had Michael, Charlotte and their team as part of our wedding day! They really were fantastic in every way. We were warmly welcomed by a lovely young woman and were given menus and shown to our seats. The bistro is very stylishly decorated and classy without being snobby. The wife ordered smashed avocado on toast plus a latte while I went for the full English and a decaf tea. The drinks were very nice (tasted like proper Tea). When the breakfast arrived we both tucked in and what a delight it was. The wife loved hers and my breakfast was one of the best I have ever enjoyed. The mushrooms were flavoursome, the sausage was not your normal fayre and the bacon actually tasted like bacon. We both said how much we enjoyed it and as the service was so wonderful left a small tip. We went to Michael's Bistro in August 2025. I chose the restaurant as I am a vegitarian and want more options than just 5% of the menu. We shared a couple of starters and I can highly recommend the sweet potatoes with Cajun and dill sauce. I than had the courgette tart and my partner had the Ramen. We were both super happy with our choices. The service was brilliant. The only reason I gave it a 4 for atmosphere is because people in Holt eat really early and we were on out own in the restaurant, but I should add the staff never made us feel uncomfortable. Initially staff seemed very friendly and polite. Quickly offered a table and offered water - sparkling or still,when I replied tap the attitude seemed to change. We liked the pub layout its ambience and decor. We went through to the bar to have a drink before our dinner and asked for a cocktail. The bar attendant told me three she could do but nothing I reliahed so.asked for a dry rose. A lovely glass of Sancerre but goodness when our bill came and we saw the price we were shocked £13.85. My watercress and goats cheese risotto was relatively bland had it not been for the five pieces of goats cheese scatteted on top. The risotto sat in the middle of a large plate congealing around the edges and it was quite stodgy. No slippery shiny smooth risotto gracing my plate sadly. The gentleman taking our order enteted into conversation after we ate but no mention of the meal we tad eaten. How odd not to want feedback. We would not return or recommend sadly

We stayed for a few days to audit family nearby. The room was great, well appointed. Everything was supplied toiletries, even q-tips and cotton face wipes. A make up mirror too. This time we visited with our dog who was greeted very warmly by all the staff and he loved all the fuss he received! The in room spa facilities are brilliant, so relaxing and the rooms themselves are stunning. We particularly loved the hot tub and sauna. We also had treatments ('Mind & Hoggy') with Jemimah and Emilia, this is such a lovely, relaxing treatment and I thought really good value too. We chose to eat in the restaurant each night of our stay as the food is so good. We enjoyed all our meals but a special mention has to go to 'The Pig Event', our favourite meal whilst there. Brunch is consistently tasty also, we've tried pretty much everything on the brunch menu between our two visits I think, and we've never been disappointed. The Pigs really is a home from home, with a friendly, welcoming team who can't do enough for you, amazing rooms, and lovely food. My only complaint - you're too far away! We chose the tasting menu, and every course was outstanding – you could tell so much thought and care had gone into every detail of each dish. Although the food was all locally sourced some of the dishes could have been a bit better we feel as the canopies had so much lovely flavour that some of the other dishes lacked that and were too simple, but that’s our opinion. The whole place is spotless. The food is outstanding. The staff are all amazing, so passionate about giving guests the best experience, they care and nothing is too much trouble. Our room was lovely and very comfortable, the fridge was very welcome feature due to the warm weather, allowed us to have cold bottles of water. The toiletries are of a high standard and the Dyson hairdryer was lovely. We will recommend to others and we will definitely be back, thank you to all.

The hotel is close to Holt, Fakenham and Thursford. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was large and mostly wheelchair accessible. We ate in the main restaurant and had plenty of space for my wheelchair. The table legs were well spaced out so the wheelchair could get close and comfortable. The food was amazing. Very well thought out menu done to a high standard. The portion sizes were very generous as well. Breakfast was a buffet for cereal and toast etc but they cook fresh choices of full breakfast and other dishes. All the main parts of the hotel are on the level and wheelchair accessible. The front doors are heavy but staff would help us if they saw us. Would highly recommend this hotel and the dining area. It is rated 4 star and would certainly say it's worth it.

We parked at the back of the building and walked 3 mins down the road to check in at The Feathers pub where we had dinner that evening and in the mornings as this was where breakfast was provided. We had been given an insulated container from The Feathers pub which they initially filled up with milk. There is a living room, conservatory and benches on the grass outside. Was nice having a TV in the room that we could load up with our Netflix account. The only real issue we had was that we were visiting during a heat wave and the room was very warm. A floor based tower fan was provided but wasn't much good when the bed was rather high up. Being on the ground floor we didn't feel safe leaving the windows open at night as they were sash windows which began at ground level and stopped at the ceiling. Nevertheless, the bed was comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts provided at The Feathers. We went there for dinner one night too which was also lovely (albeit very warm in the restaurant - even with all the doors and windows open). So whilst I may not recommend this accommodation in a heat wave or if you are looking to stay 'within' a pub, I'd definitely consider coming back in cooler weather.

The staff serving are attentive and helpful. But this review is for the Pizza takeaway. Having ordered at 6.04pm (yes, I am that into detail) they took our money, gave us a buzzer so we would know when to collect. Absolutely brilliant place to eat. The bar area and beer garden have a nice rustic feel. It's a dog friendly pub. Young staff were friendly and professional. The food was so good, a significant improvement from previous years. Portions were generous, flavours spot on, and service was quick. We were a group of five and ordered two Sunday beef roasts, the burger from their menu, and for the kids, scampi and chips and cheesy tomato pasta. For dessert, we shared an Eton Mess. All of it was delicious. The pub itself is cosy, with a lovely beer garden out back that’s perfect for sunny days. We sat outside, which was great, though it’s worth noting that if you’re outdoors you pay as you go rather than running a tab. I imagine they’ve had some bad experiences in the past, so fair enough, but table service would have made it even better. It’s also very family-friendly, with a children’s menu, a playground in the beer garden, and a selection of games and books to keep little ones entertained. All in all, we’re really happy with the improvements this year at this lovely little village pub. We’ll definitely be back before our holiday is over

This is the best I have found in Norfolk. What's amazing is the beef is quite thick, but not chewy at all, and I have been more than once so its not a co-incidence. Also, the beef has a really nice flavour, almost like chargrilled, its not bland at all. Likewise Greens and other veg, not chewy. Horseradish sauce nicely hot and perfect accompaniment. Other items on the plate, fairly standard, but plentiful. Its quite expensive at £23 - but it does include a cauliflower cheese separately which you often pay more for. I counted 5 different vegetables - gravy was a bit thick, but its a lovely pub and service is great too. We will be back soon, guaranteed!
