She's rude, hates having families there and consistently shows disrespect to people who visit. We've been going to this pub sporadically for the past 3 years, since then we've had a daughter and whenever we take her the service is bad. I don't know what the problem is, we are always respectful. I'd recommend making a reservation if you choose to visit, we didn't and got promptly spoken to while looking for a table 'we have a table for 10 coming in soon' - as though it was a nuisance for us to have even come in. Been to what was a gem of a country pub a few times. You may have noticed the past tense. Went there today, the clue was the menu of burgers or flat breads, or a "small cod and chips". No starters or much else. The cheese burger I was served was similar to one served at a fair ground, I kid you not, all that it needed was to be served in a paper napkin as opposed to a bare plate. The chips were also trailer quality. The pictures on the website depict a luscious gastro burger, nope, just a 10p plain white bun, 2 grey tasteless mass produced patties and a bit of cheese and lettuce. The side of onion rings, not worth it. My partner had a panko chicken burger, similar quality ingredients. Lack lustre. So two poor meals, two pints and a coke. Just shy of £50, only keg beer too despite the Adnams blackboard. The young lady that served us was nice enough but was obviously embarrassed when we commented on the decline in standard. The fact it was nearly empty on a Saturday night is not a good sign either. If this pub is still in trading in its current form in six months time I'll be amazed. It's a real shame.

On holiday in the area so was quite close by. Difficulty getting booked up generally for restaurants because of the eat out to help out scheme. Thankfully we got in at Turkuaz possibly because they weren't participating in the money off offer. The restaurant was clean and tidy and most tables were occupied. A friendly lady seemed to be the only person serving but she managed to keep on top of orders. We (family of 4) had starters and mains and our boys had deserts. Food was quite delicious and fresh. I had a couple of bottled beers at about £4.50 per serving. No wine ordered as my wife decided to drive. There didn't appear to be any draught beers available. We quite enjoyed our meal but it was probably more than we'd hoped to spend. Food was nice though. The bill came to about £95. Would visit again..

Came across this pub after scrolling through Google, reading the wonderful reviews and also looking to see the vegetarian options on the menu as one of our party is vegetarian and can be hard to find places that have a nice variety the menu was very inclusive for them too so I was instantly sold! Walked in around 12.30 and was informed to sit wherever we liked and showed where there was more seating, found a beautiful table just by the window with a lovely view of the village! Greeted very quickly by a very attentive staff member who allowed us time to get seated and look at the menu, I asked if there was anything she recommended from the food menu and gave the options I was stuck between, she was very informative and helpful even though she said she hadn’t worked there long it didn’t seem that way! There was a bit of a wait for food but that was to be expected as we were in the early and everything appeared to be homemade! When the food did come out we were amazed at the presentation and even more taken back by the taste! There was clear plates all round which is amazing as I’ve never known one of us to clear a plate completely! After we were finished we were given time to think about desserts which was nice to not feel rushed and give our main meals time to digest, we all decided on a dessert which was brought out in good time and all were amazingly presented and tasted just as good as they looked! Unfortunately I didn’t get the girls name that served our table but she was amazing! Overall we are extremely happy with the experience we had and will definitely be back in the future as well as recommending to friends and family!

Onion bhajis were really nicely cooked, lovely sauce, bhajis just lacked a little bit of salt. The special fried rice was the star of the show, absolutely beautiful, nice mix and amount of veg, chunky bits of egg and overall pretty perfect. The aloo gobi again pretty much spot on, nice flavour, nothing spectacular but good all the same. The garlic naan, let’s just say it’s so refreshing to have a garlic naan which actually tastes of garlic! This was really lovely, perfect flavour and exactly what it was supposed to be. Then came the chicken tikka dupiaza, which unfortunately just didn’t match the quality of the rest of the meal. Whilst the chicken tikka was moist, tender and lots of it, the sauce was the let down. It was an extremely thin, runny sauce, it needed thickening but the worst issue was how much it was over salted. Now I know I said the onion bhaji’s were lacking salt so some may read this as me being really picky and reasonable but I know my flavours and this dupiaza just wasn’t there tonight I’m afraid. This along with the really mushy over cooked peppers and the amount of cooked tomato, which made it seem more like a rogan josh or a bhuna this was just really disappointing compared with everything else. We all have off days, and I’m not going to slate the place for this. I’m open and honest, the rest of the meal was beautiful, it was ready when I arrived to collect, a great price and the guys in there were nice and friendly. If I’m in or around Diss for work again I won’t hesitate to give them another try.

A truly great experience. Upon arrival we were made to feel so welcome by the friendly staff. There's a great choice of beers and wines in this lovely timbered village pub.
