The Italian Job pizza was tasty and looked fantastic. The Aylsham Mule cocktail was nicely presented and very refreshing after the pizza. The espresso was good but the profile of the coffee used was not to my personal preference (not a fault - I'm a bit of a coffee geek and so I have preferred roasters, roast profiles, etc.). The desserts sounded good but after my pizza there was no space left to try them this time. Well done on the beautiful food and great friendly service. It's a lovely building too and, while I never visited it when it was a post office, it's very nicely set out inside and has a relaxing atmosphere. I must be honest and say I don't generally head for "trendy" bars, in some part due to preconceived ideas. But this was great. At a very fair price I thought!!!!! The only issue with my visit was that one person who didn't seem to appreciate the bars small and intimate surroundings, instead being loud enough to be heard across a Weatherspoons 😂. Some of the dishes, such as the shashlick bhuna, were good and the meat cooked well. However some of the dishes were not as the website described, with different flavours. One of the dishes, the passanda, was disgusting and we had to bin it unfortunately. We thought this would be a relatively standard dish but it was tangy, acidic and not good. I would recommend avoiding this dish. We also had the King Prawn Bahari, but the prawns were hard and rubbery, and not nice. The sauce however was flavourful - another example of the hit and miss of our takeaway here. The nawabi raan dish was very good, and if you do eat here I would recommend this. The Akbori chicken was also a good dish. All in all, it was a reasonable experience, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

We visited on both Friday night and Saturday night. Friday night we weren't overwhelmed as the lighting was a bit too bright for our liking but there were no major issues in any way. The beers were good and also the service. We went back on Saturday as we wanted to watch the football match that was on and the pub has a large screen and the table by the screen was unoccupied. The lighting was still too bright for our liking but after a while (we didn't say anything!!) the lighting got dimmed and candles set up!!! It created a lovely atmosphere within the pub and we didn't really want to leave. We had a great chat with some of the locals and it felt like a safe place. We didn't get to use the pool and darts facilities but if we visit again we'll be sure to!!

As it’s really old the building has lots of character. They welcomed our dog Betty which was lovely. The room we had was really clean and all linens beautifully white. The weather was really lovely so we ate our main meals outside in a large heated type of gazebo/marquee which had its own bar. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the food was beautiful and please be warned, quite large portions! Breakfast was just as good with plenty of choice. We loved the village where we could walk Betty around the church yard where we met some lovely people. We then discovered about half a mile down the road was a park where Betty could do her zoomies! No fast food just lovely cafes, bakeries and places to eat. We loved it so much we’ve booked again for next year.
