This place is magnificent, the food is incredibly fresh and expertly prepared, cooked to perfection, plus all of it is done in a quirky, cool, very tasty way! We followed that with a fisherman’s board, 1 each. We chose a great Chablis, which was the perfect companion to the most perfect ending to a gorgeous day out ! A special mention to the staff, from the very kind manager that let us start our dinner a bit earlier than the time we had originally booked, 20.15, to the waitress who really looked after us throughout the meal, and everybody else we interacted with. Such a warm, nice device is very rare to find, especially when the place is heaving with people. The whole experience was very special, the food is delicious, we were extremely happy. A gem of a place that needs to be visited again and again. Thank you guys you are really fantastic !

The fish (Haddock) was fresh, battered was thin and crispy. Scampi was equally great. Very generous portions. Great price. They also do a Lite bite Cod and chips portion for £5.95! This is the chippy that partnered with Fortnam in the summer and known as Fortnam-on-sea. So there is certain standard. They also sell Fortnam labeled water. Then we sat by the sea on outdoor tables. We ordered £30 worth of food last night through Just Eat, only to discover hair inside all of the fish. I’ve attached a photo, and I also have videos showing me lifting a piece of chicken by the hair 🤢 (though videos can’t be uploaded here). We immediately called the restaurant, who apologized and said they would refund the order and redo it. However, Just Eat later refused the refund, so we contacted the restaurant again this morning. I explained I didn’t feel comfortable eating from them again anyways and asked if we could have the £30 value in cash instead of a redo, but this was refused as the manager was on holiday. That’s why I asked for cash instead of food, since I no longer feel comfortable eating from them. but the woman was shocked at me even suggesting the idea. we didn't eat anything we had because if one thing is contaminated how can we trust the rest isn't? may not be hair but if we've found hair what else is lurking. I could have asked for a lot more. these were children's meals aswell, just thankful they weren't actual for the kids because that's not only vile but a choking hazard if not noticed. Overall, very unhappy with both the hygiene and the way the situation was handled. I will never order from here again and strongly recommend others avoid it.

The restaurant was basically empty when I got there, so no excuse for delivering wrong food. Would not recommend, did not even get a sorry or anything. KFC is the one fast food chain that consistently gets orders wrong, and are the least apologetic about it. Normally with my reviews I like to go back to the location after a few months to see if it has improved but I am unlikely to visit Morgate in the future as this was just a spare of the moment kinda day trip but I do wish the people working and running the store, all the best!

Dinner time and it was a struggle to find something open that wasn't a big fast food restaurant (Like McDonald's across the road from this place) because we wanted to support something local to Margate. The shop: Looked absolutely amazing!! The lighting and signs was great, seems like a great vibe. The bad things were some of the tables, including the one we sat at were not cleaned which is minus points in my book. If the store is not busy then I do not see a reason as to why the tables would not be cleaned. The restroom at the back, defo one to avoid unless you *have* to go. The food: Horrible. We ordered the boneless bucket and the chips were nice as they were still hot but the chicken pieces were... not good. The chicken bites were decent. The chicken nuggets were kids meal size and tasted like they were from frozen foods at your local supermarket. The worst thing about the food was unfortunately the chicken strips. I am a BIG fan of chicken strips but these had NO flavour at all and tasted like they had been out for a while. It is such a shame!! You can even see in the pictures, they had no colour to them and they tasted as bland as they looked. And on top of that, we were missing our one side (baked beans)! On the upside, we did get some milkshake from here too which were not pictured but they were nice. I hope in the future the food will taste as good as their shop looks because the shop definitely gives of a good vibe and very photographic but the food man. Sorely disappointed with the food.... Might have been better off going down the road to the place I spoke about at the very beginning of this review... Nevertheless, wish you all the best!

Can’t say if it was good or not as I haven’t experienced one before, I was expecting something a little more sophisticated not just a blog of mess. It tasted okay, but will reserve judgement till I try another one from a different establishment. So 10 out of 10 for local service to the local community, 10 out 10 for their customer service.
