Our party of 6 (3 couples) very much enjoyed our food and it lived up to its reputation. We've tried to get reservations in past and it was booked up so this time we booked several days in advance for a Friday night. Fringe festival was going on so there was a fun vibe directly outside. We loved the location in the exchange district and the beautiful old building. The menu was not extensive as menus with real food and real chefs generally are not, but there was something for everyone from gluten free to vegan, to carnivore. Everything here is locally and ethically sourced and made from scratch. Our waiter was very jolly and double checked with the kitchen regarding various allergies at the table. The Beef Bourguignon was disappointingly sold out but everything else was available. Note that the menu changes. The reviews were full of pictures of pasta (and pictures of a previous menu with lots of pasta options) but there was no pasta on our menu. That was not disappointing for us but something to note if you are hoping for something specific on the menu you see in the reviews. Refer to the website for the latest menu. Not sure if the menu changes seasonally or daily or what. The menu we enjoyed had loads of meat and fish options. The pork chop and chicken paillard were delightfully tender with tasty sauces. Our group enjoyed many entrées with no complaints. (all pictured). Also the desserts were perfection and a nice size. The carrot cake surprised as being both gluten free and vegan, the expectations were low but it wowed. The lemon pudding was perfectly tart and sweet. I didn't taste any others but there was satisfaction all around. We would all recommend this restaurant. The food was impeccable. The atmosphere was simple but classy, traditional, with just enough historical feel to be cozy and quaint. While I'm sure kids are welcome, I wouldn't recommend bringing kids here as the prices are high. Not sure if there is a kids menu. Parking is typical of downtown. Be prepared to walk if you want street parking, though there is also a parking garage DIRECTLY across the street. Very handy.

Located in the strip mall there is eay more parking than ever could be used. However there is a limited amount of seating inside so it would be prudent to reserve well ahead of the date you want. They have decent sized menu starters, pasta, pizzas and salads etc. They had 11" wood fired pizza and 15" stone baked pizza, which we could have had thin crust or the regular (we chose the regular). Both pizzas were cooked right, neither being doughy/undercooked nor charred/hard and dry. Our loaded pizzas were just right. The regular crust on the 15" was awesome. The crust wasn't greasy. The crust light and airy. It was cooked but neither doughy or tough. Even the edges didn't get hard or crusty, just the right amount of chew. The wood fired 11" was very good, the dough handled the toppings without getting soggy and the crust wasn't burned or dried out. The quality of the toppings were very tasty and the pizzas were very filling. Everything we saw that came out of the kitchen looked really tasty. My friends and I sat outside on the patio and our server barely came to check in on us and was a bit too busy attending to what seemed like his friends at the table beside us. The lack of good service definitely made my friend’s birthday dinner not as enjoyable as usual. I was wanting to order another drink for about 30 minutes but a server who was a male, although I cant remember his name(lucky for him), did not even ask us if we wanted more to drink or how our food was tasting. Due to this I didn’t get another glass of wine and none of my friends ordered a second drink or desert. To be honest we were ready to leave. I am all about service and if it isn’t good it definitely does not make the overall experience or even the food taste any better. I was also a bit disappointed in my pasta. I understand it was a busy night, but if our server wasn’t so focused on talking with his friends then maybe we would have been able to have a better experience. I am not sure if I will be back anytime soon. I for sure think the management needs to have a chat with the servers to make sure they are attending to their tables properly and checking in.

The bottoms look charred but taste soft, almost like the color was painted on - I know it's not, but it still looks that way. Then there's the vegetarian ramen... It's bad. It's bad enough that I can call it the worst vegetarian ramen I've tried. Truly no flavor and it's so unremarkable that I'm struggling to describe it. While not unreasonable for a date night out, the quality of food and service simply didn’t justify the cost. I left wishing I had chosen Frankie’s or Alena instead. We did were there for a birthday, one person has a very specialized diet vegan cardiac. Asked the server if the food was prepackaged or fresh, was told it was fresh. The fish was not crispy and puff pastry on the pot pie was undercooked. The pizza was soggy in the middle and had to use a fork to lift it. The only time we really saw her was if we flagged her and then it was a long time for her to return. So she tried at the beginning and at the end the middle wasn't great. We also tried the fried rice, the noodles and the tacos. Everything was good, the tacos are a bit expensive for the quantity but it was good. I got the ‘Mayor’ burger but substituted the ranch for tzatziki sauce which I recommend as it suited the gyro in the burger better. I also added pickles. I ended up getting the Crown and Coke burger because it was a tossup between getting the brisket on the menu or a burger. And there is a piece of brisket on this burger so I get the best of both worlds. The burger was thick and juicy, and had a lot of flavour coming from the dried onion as well as the way they braise the meat in the crown royal and Coke definitely infuses it with a unique taste. The bun was a little bit greasy and seem to have soaked up a lot of the sauce, which I didn’t really like. I had a poutine on the side, and I couldn’t finish it because I thought that the gravy was pretty salty. I ended up getting a child size mac & cheese for my child and it was actually very decent portion. It was cheesy and delicious.

First time was great, and we were looking forward to our second time. I don't normally write reviews but this disappointing experience was a lot of money for what we got. We spent like over 50$ for something that was almost brought out incorrect, and a brisket my wife couldn't eat because it was old and chewy. I'm also disappointed we had to pay full price for a replacement meal for my wife when they had the audacity to serve her that brisket, which they admitted had been sliced the day before. The waitress was nice and apologetic, she seemed embarrassed which I empathize with because she is just the waitress, but the chef coming out and deflecting blame while also trying to see if we were happy was off putting. We won't be back but I don't think this place deserves a 1 star because the poutine was good at the very least.

My friends and I stopped by in Friday evening, so I understand that services may take a bit long, we waited for at least 10 minutes for someone to notice and take our orders. We order Pad Kana with beef, Massaman (curry) with shrimp and papaya salad, all with spice level 4, but papaya salad was much spicier than the rest of the food. The presentation is nice but portion is very small, the large steamed rice is medium size at best at other places. The Massaman has the richness and aromatic of coconut milk, but it was bland. The shrimp was hot but the whole plate of curry was room temperature. I guess they cooked the shrimp, pour the room temperature curry base on top and serve without heating the whole thing up. The pad kana see the same faith, room temperature. But this time, the beef was not even hot and a bit chewy. And it’s also bland and submerged in too much liquid sauce. Yes, the sauce was runny and lacks flavour. The papaya salad seems to be the best part of the meal, it has balance of flavour, sour, saltiness and sweetness and a bit spicy for my friends so if you cannot tolerate much spiciness, may order it at spice level 1 or 2.

I tried the watermelon sling that tasted light, I would've maybe preferred it have more tangy/sour flavor, but it was still good. My friend loved her margaritas. Our waitress was quite pushy to make us leave when the restaurant was practically empty 🙃. However, another waitress made up for it when she brought us shots for a life event we were celebrating🎉. I'd definitely come here again and try more dishes. I'd highly recommend the fully-loaded potatoes. The menu surprisingly had many gluten-free and vegetarian options.

Interaction with staff on the phone and in person was straight forward and pleasant. I've had the rice dish Cambodian Chicken Panang Special a few years ago, which was tasty. These dishes however were just okay. The tamarind wings had a nice seasoning. But all of the wings were over cooked. The sauce in the noodle dish was very watery, so it didn't cling to the noodles, making them taste plain. It also wasn't put into an appropriate take out container. They used a flip style lid, which caused a fair amount of sauce to spill into the take out bag. I would give this spot another try, but definitely ordering something else. Probably a rice dish if there's one with a thicker sauce, or different appetizers.
