We booked ahead for a larger sitting arrangement. So I think if you’re going as a group better book ahead. Ambiance is great you can really enjoy your privacy. All their staff wears Japanese Kimono which adds up to the atmosphere. Their service is top notch too they make sure everyone is attended to. I recommend to order immediately after sitting in especially if you are going as a group as it will take a bit of time to accommodate everyones order. All the food Ive tried so far is really delicious especially my Pink Panther Sushi the best I’ve ever had here in Bahrain. Each food that we order comes big portions so I was able to share some of my orders with my friends. If you want an authentic Japanese experience this is the best restaurant to go to. They've been known for their great quality in food with affordable prizes to cater to everyone. That is NO LONGER the case. I’m really disappointed with the food quality at India Gate Restaurant. Yesterday night, we had dinner there — mushroom gravy, paneer dish, and the vegetable platter. Unfortunately, everything was extremely oily. The papad was served with chutney that had a bad smell, and when we pointed it out, they replaced it, but even the second one didn’t seem fresh. The paneer was very hard, and overall, the food tasted stale and not freshly prepared. We all felt uncomfortable after eating, and by the next morning, all four of us had an upset stomach. You may not know this but Kozhikode Star restaurant has a special parking for guests. So once you reach the restaurant, inform them that you would like to park your vehicle. The one on right is open only after 5pm. After parking our vehicle, we headed to the restaurant, chose our seats and the best part is upon ordering biryani and meals we were served on banana leaves. We tried their mutton bamboo biryani, chicken leghorn biryani, their signature style beef biryani, ghee rice and beef roast. Talking about their date-chilli sweet and sour pickle, it was a bomb. I've tried their Mixed Fried Rice, Chicken Momos, Crispy Crunchy Chicken, Red Curry with Prawns and Mutton Kathi Roll. All of their dishes are a wonderful mix of spices and some decent heat, even though I requested Extra Spicy I know that spice levels vary and they did their best to accommodate and not overpower the flavors of the dish. The curry is creamy but not too thick and had hints of coconut milk. My only disappointment with the curry is it lacked an appropriate amount of prawns for the amount of curry. The Chicken Momos were very delicious and had great texture and were filled nicely with meat. Their fried rice is delicious and has nicely cut vegetables and vibrant green and red chilies. The Kathi Roll was bursting with delicious flavor, very well seasoned Mutton and vegetables that still had a crunch even after a 15min drive home. The customer service is very friendly and accommodating, and the Kathi Roll was since they wanted feedback on a new menu item. I will definitely be recommending this location to my friends and look forward to exploring their menu. Their extensive menu leaves you wanting more than just one dish, so more than one dish I had. Their papaya salad (medium spice) was a perfect comfort level for me but in fact complimented their Pad Thai (shrimp dish). If I had to give one area of improvement is that I wish to see larger tofu and prawns to reflect the price they are charging but still, the money was worth their dish. At the end you are given freshly slice oranges as a palate cleanser as you sit there wondering if you should try another dish or regret the fact you just devoured potentially a meal for two.
