Was looking forward to a nice cup of hot tea with my meal, but unfortunately, the cup of tea they served tasted more like hot water than actual tea,
a bit disappointing.
On the plus side, the food was really good and the service was excellent - our server was friendly and attentive.
One minor suggestion would be to pay a bit more attention to table cleanliness and upkeep, and the washrooms could use some extra cleaning.
Overall, great spot, just maybe work on the tea quality.

First gastronomic experience in Saskatoon. Came because of the reviews. Well, it’s not as good as the reviews say. The tempura in the dynamite roll tastes like old and from the box. The sushi rice was not soft and fresh. I ordered a tonkatsu ramen but I was served a dan dan ramen. Anyway, the ramen was decent to me, as opposed to the many reviews which said that it’s the best ramen in town. Maybe because I came from TO and been to many good ramen/Japanese restaurants, hence my critical review. Overall, it was ok, but won’t go out my way to come and eat here.

Saw this on some Reddit reviews and decided to check it out.
Parking in a lot, can be cramped but we found a spot.
We walked in and were able to get a table no issue. Greeted by staff. We were told to choose our seating.
Menu has good selection of options. They have a large ramen variety with customization. They also have quite a few specialty sushi rolls to choose from.
I got the tonkatsu ramen and we got some rolls to share. The ramen broth was tasty, I loved the noodles and the presentation. I’m not personally a fan of pork belly but they didn’t have chicken options. However it was good and I would likely get it again.
The sushi was great. Fair portions and fresh, not too much rice, good filling ratio to rice. They don’t cheap out. Good flavours.
The service was attentive and pleasant. Food was quick to come out. We didn’t wait long.
I’d say it was priced fairly.
I will return with my partner to show him a good ramen time.
My friend mentioned the hallway and the bathroom were a bit old and grungy looking, so she wondered if the kitchen would also be dirty.
Either way, great tasting food! Would return.

If you are asking yourself where to go for sushi in Saskatoon, this place is sugoi (amazing). Let me tell you, the nigiri pieces are well done and the rice is cooked and packed well. The Dragon Roll was the best roll Ive had with the crispy bits hitting so right. This place competes with some Toronto places and I am so surprised we have a place like this in Saskatoon. One of my friends who goes to michellin places thinks the presentation id on par with this. So take that for what you will.

My partner & I travel a fair amount, always trying new sushi places, but few have held a flame to the sushi & ramen from Sushi Raku (and that’s GLOBALLY). To have such a treasure in Saskatoon is something special 🥲🍣.
We live in the neighbourhood, and have dined here countless times — so many times, in fact, that it’s almost criminal that it has taken me THIS long to give these folks the big 5 stars that they deserve.
So the question isn’t, “What have you tried that you’ve liked at Sushi Raku?” The true question is, “What haven’t I tried?!” 🤭
This is what keeps us coming back over and over again. Whenever we want to go for a FAST, great, sit down meal (and can dine for under $45-$50 for two people), we choose here 9/10 times. 🍜

And our NEWEST favourite is their Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen 🤯. We used to think another establishment had the best ramen in Saskatoon — we were wrong. This is the best in the city hands down.
The staff here is amazing. Every time you walk in, the Sushi Chefs greet you, and always say goodbye when you leave.
Coming here feels like coming home. Good food. Good people. Great time. 🥰.
But takeout is also equally as good. So there are no excuses not to give this place a try.

I have eaten here twice! Both experiences have been very enjoyable and the food and service excellent! I am a big fan of the Oshi! The Lychee Lemonade (tastes like a Mojito!!) and Honey Yuzu Iced Tea are fantastic! Highly recommend! The prices are on the higher end of my budget, and I would only eat here occasionally for that reason. Best to go with a few people and share a few things to experience more options and keep the cost down if you are wanting to try something other than a bowl of ramen.
**Update** Third visit during Happy Hour, prices are budget friendly! Chicken Karaage and Ebi Mayo were recommended by Kevin and were delicious!

I've been to the North and South locations. The location in the south is a newer building. Both locations have excellent food. It is a buffet style sushi. You order on your phone/tablet and they bring the food out to you. Lots of options with even steak and chicken dishes. They also have ice cream as well.

We decided to take our daughter turning 14 to try an AYCE (All-You-Can-Eat) Buffet. For some reason she added that (and going to a grill house) as part of her birthday gift wish. We decided to look at reviews online for all the major AYCE Buffet places in Saskatoon. Best Asia had come recommended by other Africans/Nigerians as well. Online reviews were varied making it difficult but we decided to give it a shot. So this is solely based on our experience on 19th of August, 2025 from 4:49 pm - 8:00pm.
I had called in earlier about the number of persons coming (5 in total). The Hostess/Receptionist who received the call was polite and told us we could come in without reservations (Scored points). Arrived at about 5:00 pm that day and we were quickly moved to a patio type table. Had a discussion with the hostess about the fact that we would prefer a dinning type sitting arrangement and immediately, without fuss, she politely asked us to pick anywhere we felt more comfortable (scored more points).
Usually we expect that for such a place, us being Africans, we would be treated poorly. E.g. in many places, everyone eats before they pay, but we are usually asked to pay before we even sit; we are usually sent further back to a corner in restaurants where we will protest this and take our business elsewhere, etc. So we expected a little ''drama''. But we were treated very nicely. In fact the waitress that attended to our table was polite, informing us when she was coming to clear used dishes and cutlery. Apologized for bringing the POS Card machine a bit late, etc. (Scored more points).
Food options include rice, pastas, pizza, salads, desert, fish, chicken of various preparation and presentation styles, and desert like ice cream and pastries for everyone. They had sushi. Various types. These were good too. Seafoods, fried and baked pastries and lots more. Platter sizes are large. In fact, there was little to no control of what you could have. No mean looks and frowning expressions from the servers and host/hostess like in many other buffet places. (Score more points). Some people who eat spicy foods like we do might find their meals not spicy enough. Just ask for their hot sauces/spices. My wife usually brings a little of her home made spice when we go out to eat just in case. So we are always good.
Desert was good. That was where my kids dug in, creating and mixing ice-cream with various cakes as toppings and drizzled dressings.
Atmosphere was busy but not noisy. My kids were allowed to watch the fish in their Aquarium until they started getting in the way of servers, and workers. Then they were politely told go back to their seats. We didn't mind this. When you walk in you might prefer the Right Hand Side sitting area as you get to see outside events a bit more (more points).
We had a great time, and evidently, seeing the kids all doze off on our way home, I knew they had all dealt a ''good blow'' to the ice-cream machine and desert section (more points). My final recommendation is when you go in, plan your meals. Walk round and see what they have a make a mental map/plan of what you would be trying and in what order. Then dig in.
Our experience was pleasant from start too finish. Many of their meals are not spicy, but that is something that can be fixed. Besides, eating spicy food is more of the exception in Canada.

The desserts were delicious, it was a clean facility. They politely asked each guest to sanitize their hands each time they go up to the buffet which is great for keeping the communal utensils more sterile than other buffets I've experienced.
I've read other reviews on this restaurant having bland food although during our visit today that was not totally the case. There was an ok stocked buffet, but not as much to chose from as others I've been to. My partner in meal eating tried the spring rolls and she gave a 5/10, I thought the Greek ribs were tasty although maybe a bit more greek spice could be used 7/10. The rice, chicken chow mean were ok, but the items that really spiked our interest were the desserts, delicious! Some were sweeter than others which is why its great that they cut them into small portions. Overall the experience was nice, service was pleasant with many drink refills. Adult buffet is $22.95 each. Regular Iced tea $2.50 with unlimited refills.

We'd heard good things about Fuzion and saw some decent reviews, so we decided to give it a try for a family order. Notably, we ordered the large Maki sushi platter, Salmon Roe Nigiri, and a Coconut bubble tea. I was aware that this is not traditional sushi going in, and as such, my expectations were adjusted for a broad experience. The food we received exceeded the boundaries for what I would define as broad. Technically, the food we received was the products we ordered. Technically it contained the ingredients advertised. Technically it was edible and, as of an hour afterwards, hasn't given us food poisoning. These reasons are why we opted not to make a complaint and just take the 'experience' as a learning lesson. On to the nitty-gritty.
I have included some pictures of the products we received with this review, mounted on a white plate for clarity. Some bullet point thoughts.
On the Bubble tea.
-Although there was ice in the bubble tea when we received it, the product was noticeably warm.
-The Bubble tea was extremely watered down. It clearly had coconut milk in it, but diluted to the point of sadness and disappointment.
-The tapioca pearls in the bubble tea were overcooked and allowed to sit for too long, rendering them mushy, clumpy, and literally dissolving in the drink. Simultaneously, they clearly had not been stirred enough while being cooked, and the massive clump we received (picture included below) somehow managed the ignominious achievement of being both dry in the middle of the clump, and having the pearls literally falling apart on the outer bits.
On the sushi.
-The sushi was warm. Not cold or room temperature; warm. The rationale for why warm products involving raw fish should be alarming is blatantly obvious.
-The rice in the sushi was wet to the point of being mushy.
-The Nori wraps on the sushi were exposed to too much water and were chewy.
-The sushi rice is noticeably pink (See the pictures). Our running theory is that chili powder was added to the rice as the rice itself also had a bitter flavour.
-The rolling and cutting of the sushi was sub-par, resulting in inconsistent flavours across the pieces. Insufficiently tight and uneven rolling, especially in the tuna maki rolls (see picture below), resulted in the rice separating from the fish, and pieces of sushi falling apart as they were picked up.
In addition.
-The ginger provided with the meal was sweet. Sweet enough that one member of my family compared it to candy.
-The 'wasabi' provided with the meal was definitely not fresh wasabi root, nor the dyed horseradish commonly used. It had very little flavour and mostly tasted of disappointment and the cries of small children having their dreams crushed. I am over exaggerating, but it should be noted that the product Fuzion uses here is sad.
My overall review and recommendation? Do not eat here. The prices are comparable to other, better sushi places, and the quality is disappointing and alarming. We had our meal delivered, and in the three minutes of driving time the delivery driver spent between my house and Fuzion, I wish I had the foreknowledge to cancel my meal.

For a Saturday date night, it was absolutely amazing! This place really leans into the variety component of being a fusion restaurant- Viet, Thai, Japanese- and the non-vegan options were so good, I bet the vegan ones are just as amazing (also super varied with plentiful options).

We had the salad rolls, ginger beef and Spicy ramen with roasted rice tea.
The ginger beef was actually crispy(!!!) and had so much flavour. It’s wild how much beef came with this dish. I was a little unsure about the price, but the value was absolutely there.
The ramen took us right back to Japan. The noodles were fresh, the broth was so rich and full of umami.
The waitress was very friendly, attentive and we enjoyed the experience so much. What a gem!!

We stopped in for dinner while passing through Saskatoon and we have been completely blown away! The vegan options are vast, and PERFECTED, so much yum!!! We were able to easily find something for everyone (2 adults 1 teen 2 children all vegans)!
The food was beyond any and all expectations, we had the vegan combo for one A x2, and vermicelli bowls X2. The thoughtful and kind woman working gave the kids S&S CHK ball appetizer as a complimentary treat!
After all this amazing food we were full but couldn't resist a chance to try their vegan desserts! They are absolutely delectably divine!!!!

Unfortunately this place also falls on my expectation of authentic ramen. My search continues... I had the Spicy BBQ Pork Miso. No miso flavour was present and soup was not rich and it was on the sweeter side, that's different. Also I should have known BBQ pork meant marinated pork my first time seeing that as topping. The marinated egg and noodles are the only passable thing on this bowl. It also had heaps of lettuce, carrots and never ending onions, confusing. I don't recommend the Ramen but the rice dishes look better.

We wanted to try something new, and Diane’s Kitchen did not disappoint! To maximize the amount of food to try, we ordered a few dishes and shared family style. The highlights were the Korean fried chicken (SO crispy, breaded and cooked to perfection), the udon, and the Tteokbokki, which was served with sautéed cabbage and vegetables. I could’ve eaten a whole plate of that cabbage and tteokbokki sauce alone! Our meal was served with sides of kimchi, pickles, and vegetable pancakes which were great palate cleansers between the different foods. I had a terrible experience at Malabari Shack & Rock N Roll Diner. I ordered the Kerala Biryani for $12 and Chicken Perattu for $9, and both were a complete disappointment. The Biryani was just plain white rice with a few tiny pieces of chicken—no masala, no flavor at all. It was unbelievably bland. The Chicken Perattu was slightly better in terms of spices, but the chicken did not taste fresh at all. To make matters worse, I found a hair in the rice, which is absolutely unacceptable. One and only aithentic or homely food point in Saskatoon. Yes, its not a hotel or restaurant type food. Its homemade kind. They started it as a take away joint but people like me prefer to dine in there as the ambience is good. If you’re ever in Saskatoon and feeling too happy with life—go eat at Malabari Restaurant. It’ll bring you right back down.
We ordered onion uthappam and plain cheese dosa—comfort food we grew up with and know like the back of our hands. What we got was an insult to South Indian cuisine and possibly a health hazard. The uthappam was so oily it could’ve lubricated a car engine, and the dosa? Imagine rubbery sadness with a slice of cheese thrown in for good measure. Flavor? Missing. Probably still out looking for parking.
And the sides? Oh boy. The sambar and chutneys were cold, clearly defrosted like they'd been pulled out of a freezer during a fire drill. The sambar tasted like someone whispered "tamarind" into a bowl of water and called it a day. The chutneys had the personality of wet cardboard.
We politely (yes, politely) gave feedback, thinking maybe they’d appreciate knowing something was off. Instead, we got hit with the classic, “This is the first time we’re hearing this.” Really? That sentence alone deserves a place on the wall of denial. No apology, no ownership—just attitude and defensiveness. It was like arguing with a wall, if the wall could roll its eyes.
Overall, this place served bad food with worse service, wrapped in a thick layer of arrogance. If you're craving South Indian food, drive anywhere else. Literally. Go to another city if you have to.
We left hungry, annoyed, and genuinely concerned for anyone who thinks this is what Indian food is supposed to taste like.
Would not recommend. Would not return. Would not wish this experience on my worst enemy

Update: Upon my second visit, I am happier with the food here. I ordered the Kobe Burger, and I liked the way they fried the beef strips to give it more texture. Ultimately though I am still disappointed that there is so much bun compared to filling in the burger. Though by no means do I expect any restaurant to provide food that exactly resembles their advertisements, I do wish Japa Shack, as a local business, would try more to align what they claim with what they sell. Their online menu display of a burger overflowing with filing is simply too discordant with reality, a burger that is seemingly shy to reveal it's contents, and so hides within its buns.
Came here on their opening day and ordered two recommended menu items, expecting the best they could offer. However what I received was rather average and well below my expectations. The deep fried pork cutlet in the katsu burger was incredibly thin, feeling almost non-existent within the buns. The volcano fries came with a measly amount of chicken on top, and overall was a very small portion at the given price point. The fries themselves somewhat redeemed the item, as they were fried well and were coated in a cheese powder. Taste wise everything was ok but nothing particularly unique or interesting. You can order ahead online which is nice. Frankly this place is closer to a 2 star rating, but I think it has the potential to be much better, and I am hopeful they can turn things around in the near future.

The restaurant space is renovated, but pretty boring and very little character. Our server was very friendly, highlight of the visit. I had the shahi paneer and my partner had an Indian lamb dish, both were quite spicy, but had little flavour. We both also had intestinal distress later that night. Naan was dry, not very good. Other partner had a burger that he didn’t enjoy. Toddle liked her soup of the day; cream of potato, I think. Men’s washroom (which is shared with the gas station) was too dirty to use. Kicker was the $100+ bill for three adults and a toddler to have a not very good meal in a lackluster location. Not worth the convenience if you’re out that way.

We stopped by Goodearth today while wandering Lawson Heights mall - I've been getting a lot of Apple Butter Latte ads lately, so we had to try it out! We were greeted by a lovely woman who was extremely knowledgeable on the product and gave me the opportunity to try the apple butter syrup prior to ordering to ensure I'd enjoy my beverage! I had the Apple Butter latte iced and the chocolate-berry scone, my partner had the iced coffee with vanilla syrup. The coffee and pastry were DELICIOUS! Have been here numerous times over the years and never left disappointed.
You are always greated with a smile and warm welcome from staff when coming in. Ladies serving the tables are polite and friendly. Last time it was Mila and she was wonderful. She has worked from the opening and can see why she is still around enjoying what she does. It was a pleasure to be served.
Food is always delicious. Ramens are some of the best i ever had. Sushi is exquisite and taste very fresh. Some meals definitely fill you more per $ than others which is totally okay. Not all restaurants should make you filled up overboard. Bibimpap is my personal favorite. Korean food is just very unique and these guys make it in the best tradition of the country.
Design has a great taste and open kitchen is cool, ability to smell some food even before getting to it (if sitting by the kitchen). The bar and the area around look beautiful.
Thank you for all the times we enjoyed food and drinks here, would definitely be back!

The ramen: the main outstanding feature is the egg. I was pleasantly surprised with how it tasted. If nothing else, the egg's uniqueness is the hook. The cocktail: "Salty Seas" Its ingredients are definitely of East Asian influence. It beautifully comes together to form a cocktail I would indulge without remorse or reservation. Delicious! We always leave happy when we eat at sticks and stones. There menu is limited, however everything on the menu is amazing! We had the pork belly steamed buns: UNREAL! You need to try them, they are a must have! We also had the chicken karaage, which was fantastic! The flavour was very authentic japanese, but the texture had a modern twist on it-- it was super crispy. As for the ramen, it was delicious. We had the shoyu ramen and spicy ramen. Both were fantastic, and the broth was superb. We could tell they used real bones to make their broth, and the pork that came with it was to die for. My only complaint was that the noodles were slightly soften than I care for-- not a big deal tho.
Drink selection was great; there are so many fun cocktails and authentic asian spirits.
A wonderful place to get eastern asian food.

The food was decent but everything else about this place was atrocious.
Our servers seemed so overwhelmed by our one table and the rest of the restaurant was empty. We were there for 2 hours and we still didn't receive everything we ordered. We ended up just telling them to stop bringing food because it was taking too long. Servers didn't ever check on our tables. Our water was never refilled. Ordering drinks was a nightmare. We had to flag people down just to order beers and they were out of half of the options. Order were mixed up and given to different people. We had made a reservation for a group of 12 but it felt like we crippled their entire kitchen. Do not recommend for larger groups espescially with many other "all you can eat" sushi options out there. Staff were friendly but just seemed very overwhelmed.

Never been here before, finished an exam early and needed a lunch. $14 for a bento box with a very generous amount of food. I went around about 2:30 when everything was made to order and it was amazing.
The reason for the three star rating is the service. I have never seen such poor customer service in my life. I greeted the workers warmly and explained I had never been there and asked if they did lunches and all I got was "Yes, what do you want?"
I almost walked out right there based on that service but I am (somewhat) glad I didn't because the food was pretty decent.

I've always liked Edo Japan, and this restaurant does not disappoint. My go-to is the Beef Yakisoba sumo sized. Lots of fresh veggies and beef. I also tried their Boba Milk Tea, which was good and at a great price compared to places that sell only Boba drinks. Also ordered their Tempura Sushi, which I didn't care much for only because it had shrimp, which I don't particularly like, but my husband devoured it.

My favourite thing to order is bubble tea, but when I ordered from the midtown location the worker was very unhappy to have make my bubble tea. When i tried the bubble tea it was not sweet at all and just tasted like water because he had not made it correctly. It was very disappointing for me, as I love this drink and bought six of them and now I don’t even want to drink them. It is annoying too because i feel like this was an avoidable issue and was on purpose due to the workers dislike of making bubble tea.

My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate our one year anniversary.
we did book a reservation online but when we arrived it wasn’t busy and they didn’t need to look it up- we weren’t asked our name.
The entry is a small little shop door out front below the sign but the restaurant is upstairs. You check in on the first floor though where it must be a take out desk?
Staff brought us to our table.
VERY attentive staff and super polite and professional.
we ordered the Korean BBQ option for two. Picked beef bulgogi and the Denver steak.
The menu is a bit weird and hard to navigate. They don’t list what the sides are- you just get what they’ve decided is listed as a side. They will tell you when you ask- but they do not have the option to select from a list.
We added side rice to our dishes, we also ordered sushi.
The sushi was fantastic. It tasted fresh, the rice to content ratio was perfect and the flavours were spot on. We got the half dynamite half cali roll and the sweet wasabi sauce was lovely. It also had perfect presentation.
The bbq experience was great. He set us up very tenderly & even arranged everything in an aesthetic manner.
At one point I dropped my fork and the employee must’ve been paying attention as he quickly grabbed me a new one without me needing to ask.
The flavours were perfect. The bulgogi beef was probably the best and we highly recommend it. We also enjoyed the side of the chicken balls & the onions and carrots had nice flavours.
It’s served with sauces- I only really used the soy sauce. They give you flavoured salt & romaine leaves so you can make yourself little dragon boats with the meat you cook.
You need to ask for fork or Utensils as the standard fare is chopsticks.
The heating induction dish is not dangerous or scary- they adjust it at the table. From time to time you’ll experience smoke in the air that may be a problem for people with breathing difficulties despite the industrial fans they have in the room with you.
Didn’t feel there as any risk of burning ourselves or Injury which was nice.
The tables are large and accommodate lots of items.
We really enjoyed our social round table style meal and we would return. It is a bit pricey but it was perfect for what we did get quality wise and made a great anniversary dinner experience.
Note: no parking lot. Must find street parking and adhere to signs for if payment is required.

Stopped in for all you can eat hot pot, was a great price so didnt expect too much. Was blown away, all the sides were so fresh and tasty, the meats were well seasoned and delicious. You have to order things in small portions they dont let you order a whole heap of stuff which is really good because you tend to not waste. You can order unlimited of everything but only a couple dishes at a time which I actually appreciated. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the decor was ok, but the star of the place the food did not disappoint. I wish I lived in Saskatoon this would be a regular spot.

The food was good. I like how tender the chicken karaage. We got the hot pot with beef broth, which has a nice flavor. The sukiyaki was too sweet for us. Pork cut was too fatty, while beef, I think, was a better option. The gyosa/dumplings were tasty.

My family came here for dinner to celebrate my Mom’s birthday. As it was our first time eating there, we had an amazing experience overall with their excellent service.
My sister and I ordered nigiri and sashimi - we were surprised and satisfied at the portion of their fish:rice ratio compared with other sushi restaurants.

Our waitress was phenomenal. I have been to the other hot por in Town and they are totally different experiences. I had seen posts about the service here and they were not wrong. My wife and I had a date here and it was well worth it. The homemade Kimichi was amazing. We had about 5 servings of it. The Kimichi was an after thought to order but it is so good.
