Cute restaurant with delicious food. I've never seen curry served in a soup so I was surprised by that. It was good but I didn't want soup, and the shrimp still had the tails on them. Had to ask special for fried rice which isn't on the menu, instead of the jasmine rice which we were previously told was bland. At the end of the meal we waited at least 10 minutes for someone to bring us our check before we finally asked for it, and were told to go to the front, where we had to give our order all over again so that they could find it. Ridiculous on a busy Saturday night. Overall it was an OK experience but we probably won't be back.

With any hibachi restaurant I’ve ever been to, rice is standard and included with the meal. I’m not sure when the change was made, but they now charge $1.00 for steamed rice. Fried rice is $2.00 extra on the menu — however, on the final bill, we were charged $2.25. The steamed rice seems like an odd up-charge, especially considering rice is extremely inexpensive. Why not just raise the entire base price of the meal itself? The menu also states dessert was included, but we were not offered any dessert. We were a party of 5 and were charged 18% gratuity that was included on the bill. The wait service was fine, not bad. We would have probably tipped 18%, but I don’t love when it is included on the bill without notice. I’m glad we were paying attention and didn’t double tip. Overall, we would probably come back, but I hope the management can update their menus to match the prices they are ultimately charging on the final bill. Once seated in the noncovered tables, unlike yesteryears cloth cover, the service was excellent. Selena provided top notch service. Very fast and great followups. The food was averagely good. Dry without the previous juicier dishes. It you visit the Old Mikata Japanese Restaurant, you will not find it, it no longer there. Only in name. RIP If you are looking for a decent size serving of average quility food, you will find it fairly favorable. If you looking for a Japanese Restaurant Experience you will need to look elsewhere around town. There are several better options currently.

I really appreciated the thoughtfulness of the chef and the servers to let the Blondie/brownie cool down a bit so that when they top it off with ice cream, it won't melt so fast. Eating it with the ice cream and the caramel drizzle tasted amazing. Service: -I thought the food was delivered fast enough. We definitely weren't kept waiting too long. If you order a bit of each type of dish on the menu, it keeps a constant flow of food that you'll never be starving. Our servers were Ashlyn and her trainee Maria. Both of these ladies were excellent! Very polite. Ashlyn wowed me with her 110% upbeat attitude, attention to detail, and her professionalism. When I made my reservation on Resy, she asked immeadiately about my partner's onion allergy (which was actually more of an intolerance, his throat just gets really itchy when he eats foods with onions or onion powder in them). She took it so seriously that I was very impressed by Ashlyn's concern and hospitality to make sure that my partner would be able to enjoy the food. We also appreciated that she noticed my partner and I's Straw Hat pirate shirts from One Piece. She has such a wonderful personality and really knows how to engage guests. A wonderful hostess! This was my 2nd time eating at Kinjo's. The first time, I had only ordered food for delivery. Dining in is definitely the way to go, it's the best way to enjoy all the food fresh! Looking forward to my next visit, definitely one of my favorite dining locations in Macon now!

We had such a great date day today and ending it with Shogun was the night topper! The cook was amazing and funny! The portion sizes were enough for 3 different meals. But the Bruce sushi roll was the best sushi roll I have ever had! Now being it was was just me and my husband it was pricey but with that said I'm one to look over the receipt and they had charged us a 15% gratuity prior to check out so there was over a ten dollar tip added to our bill before we ever received it and I dint really think that's fair to force people to tip you and one not make it known that's it being done and two I see if it was a party but 2 people we tip well anyways especially if they do good but our server never refilled drinks or bussed our table so it was messy and we were left thirsty but being he was going to make ten bucks off of us reguardless he wasn't too concerned if we left more than that or not so he was barely seen. So hopefully the cook got the gratuity tip because he was wonderful! So if your go just know your tip is included at the end already in the price at 15% without making you aware it's there unless you look!

We were recommended by the staff at the hotel to try the Japanese hibachi restaurant down the street. Googling it brought us to this place.
