A quick look at reviews on Google Maps showed the coffee shops had pretty average reviews and then I spotted this comment “at last real coffee in Devizes” and it referred to the Tea Inc. Tea Inc is a specialty tea shop selling a great many different teas and some coffees in a cosy downstairs and upstairs emporium. If you can't eat it all, they have a box for you to take home the left overs. You need to give at least 24hrs notice for a cream tea and let them know your dietary requirements. There is seating both on the ground floor and 1st floor and a toilet upstairs. They have a sales room upstairs with a variety of goods, tea bags, teapots and much more. There is no wheelchair access. It is a very busy place and was fully booked when we arrived for our booking. Parking would be in the market place. I gave 4 stars for atmosphere as there was a woman sat near us on her phone the whole time not really using her inside voice. They have a variety of teas to choose from and they come out in a tea pot with a timer for best taste, you can do less or more depending on how strong you like your tea. I would highly recommend visiting Tea Inc.

The staff here are great, very polite and greeted with a smile. We had not booked but they accommodated our request regardless. All of them were exceptionally good. I believe they have a new French chef who's only been there a couple of months but is certainly making his mark. Every time she ordered something she double checked that it had no alcohol. She ordered a mocktail, and again double checked that it was alcohol free, and the server said it was. When she got it she took a generous swig and she then tasted the alcohol in it. The server apologised. And said dont worry the alcohol is at the bottom. We spent the rest of the night and until the early hours of the morning in A&E in Salisbury. When you are allergic to alcohol it slowly effects your breathing and slows down your heart until it stops. Its not a joke or someone messing about, its really serious, and depending on the amount of alcohol thats drunk depends on how quick the reaction takes effect. I emailed the peppermill via their contact us page to let them know of our disappointment and to let them know what could have happened, and they couldn't even spend a couple of minutes to give us a reply. Just think how much worse this could have been if my wife hadn't of tasted the alcohol and we hadn't of got the treatment we needed as quick as we did. Shame on you Peppermill

It’s located right at the heart of the Wiltshire market town of Devizes, right on top of the market square and boasts to be one of the oldest extant buildings in the town dating back to the 15th century. It’s a Grade II listed building reflecting its architectural and historical significance, the hotel retains much of its original features like the low oak beams and uneven floors that’s contribute to charming, characterful atmosphere today. I stayed in room number ten which was stunning, stylish and very comfortable. Hosting all what you would expect to find in a decent hotel, like your usual teas and coffees, TV, local information, an iron and board, it was actually nice to see a Bible in the drawer as per old tradition. Power points were well situated for charging your gadgets and the best bit was the A/C. Coming here in the mid of July was hot so a decent A/C unit was very welcome. The hotel offers 16 boutique rooms, including a Bridal Suite with a four-poster bed and a two‑bedroom Family Suite. All the rooms are individually styled and I’m told all but the single room has A/C but all have en‑suite bathrooms. The bathroom was a highlight. Very chic yet retaining its grandiose style blending vintage elegance with modern luxury. There’s a large walk-in shower, a lengthy bathroom sink, but it’s the claw-footed bathtub that’s forms the centrepiece of the bathroom - the kind that demands a long, revitalising soak. There’s staff there were very welcoming and helpful, and they will tell you that access to the hotel at night is restricted, and you’ll have to gain entry via a coded door at the rear of the hotel found off of Castle Lane. I did a little pub crawl as you do so got back after hours. Finding the door wasn’t a problem but it’s advisable to have a look first if you’re planning on staying out late. It’s then navigating yourself through the hotel to find your room that can be a little disorientating. It was actually a nice surprise because you find these cosy snugs for socialising, relaxing and playing classic games like chess. I honestly thought I walked into someone’s lounge initially before realising it was safe to venture through. The entire hotel has this classic yet comfortable ambience, even the bar and restaurant, and cocktail lounge has a certain ambience that’s both trendy and vintage. The 2AA Rosette award-winning restaurant is quite large and was busy during my stay, serving a British menu with fresh seasonal ingredients sourced locally. Being the venue for the wedding reception, we were upstairs in a private, moderate banquet room which had its own bar and toilet. There’s A/C in the room but I did feel for the bar staff who were sweltering, but they never complained. The buffet food that was served was of high quality and a decent range to suit everyone’s tastes. The honey mustard sausages and Mini Yorkshire Puds with roast beef and horseradish were amazing! This also included a range of sandwiches and quiches, salads and range of small dessert plates. If the buffet was anything to go by, I can only imagine the main menu downstairs being excellent. They have very limited parking isn’t but there’s plenty of very local options. Just be mindful if staying mid week as parking in the market square is prohibited on Wednesday evenings due to the market on the Thursday. Just expect a short walk of you can’t get in behind the hotel. The local car parks are payable via MIPERMIT app and quite cheap at that. You get a scene of pride here, from the team, the service and the food, this pairing with the overall ambiance of the venue sets a perfect luxurious place to stay should you ever come to Devizes. It’s a great location if exploring the little town of Devizes or neighbouring attractions like Stonehenge, Avebury, the Kennet Canals and the town itself. I would certainly stay here again.

The food is fantastic and to be honest I have never left a plate empty. You have breakfast served all day and the menu caters for vegans like no other. We were greeted by a lovely gentleman called chippy, as we walked from our parked car and he asked if we were having lunch & showed us to a terrace. Very impressed by the menu, we all chose to have a roast. We had warmed bread and dipping oil after we were seated. The roast beef was lovey, red wine just was amazing. A fabulous offer is a 3 course Sunday lunch for £35. Also an a la carte menu with lobster making an appearance! If you’re ever passing through Rowde, this lovely establishment is definitely a must to visit. The landlord (Chippy), and his wonderful staff are so friendly and welcoming. On finally getting home I was shocked to see what I actually received for £9.10 8 pieces of chicken floating on a watery soup of tasteless onions ...I now relised why I had to wait 10 minutes at this joke of resturant , that's exactly how long this dish took to cook . Absolutely terrible, worse curry id ever tasted , sorry I can't even call it a curry because it had no curry taste what so ever ..just watery onion soup. This is not a professional restaurant it's the front room of someones house who definitely can't cook indian .food ..Im leaving this review so I can hopefully save someone else some money . Avoid this place, don't end up paying £9.10 for 26p worth of onion soup soup ...Avoid , terrible place terrible food .

There was enough rice for the two of us and the Nan bread was huge so split between the two of us. However, everything was just….exceptionally slow. It's off the beaten track, a little, but well worth a visit. It's not the largest venue, but there is outside seating and more will be coming as they have only been open a couple of weeks, at this point. We had a couple of coffees with a cake each. Coffee was good, and the cakes were amazing! I had a vegan, don't let that make you not try one, chocolate cup cake which was rich and moist with smooth buttercream. The husband had a brownie, pictured, also delicious and gooey and just right. All cakes are made by the owners. It's dog friendly too, so a good place to bring the four legged friend. If you're in Devizes and looking for a place to grab a coffee, that isn't a massive corporate chain, please go here and support these great guys in their new venture.

The staff were so genuine and friendly, one explained they had been down a team member but we didn't notice, service was excellent but we did want to give a special mention to our waitress (Nicole I think her name was) who suffered our fussy, mind changing and awful joke making table with incredible grace and good humour! While we had seen the reviews mentioning high prices and small portions, we hoped the flavours would make up for it.
