A person above described it as a moment from faulty towers !!! I was also about to say this. But without the humour. It seemed that we were making a nuisance of ourselves for being there. We found the whole experience laughable and only saved by the amazing food we ate, once they took all the dishes back because it wasn’t our order. And made us feel it was our fault. Nothing about the experience would make me return, the food was another matter. The food was delicious so compliments to the chef ! I hope Memsaab is still there when we return, but I seriously doubt that unless there’s some customer service training ! We usually buy takeaways, but occasionally eat in the restaurant too. The food has always been delicious and cooked well, and the service is polite, friendly, and efficient. After having tried other Indian restaurants in the locality, I would elect Memsaab as the best Indian restaurant in the area. Lately, I have seen and been quite concerned by a few disappointing online reviews from other diners written during the earlier months of 2023, interestingly being submitted on mobile. We dined at Memsaab for New Year’s Eve 2023, and as well as having a very good meal, we observed other diners, and the waiting times for a few customers collecting takeaways, and noted precisely none of the problems described in the aforementioned reviews. Our meal worked out at roughly £25 each, including drinks and service (at 10%) – this restaurant offers great food at good value! We had a very good evening with excellent food, promptly and politely served. When we arrived, we were promptly shown to our table, noticing the manager was absent from his usual spot. The kitchen and front of house operated smoothly, and he later appeared in chef's whites, explaining he had assisted in the kitchen due to a surge in orders. Our drinks and papadoms came very quickly, with generous quantities of four relishes. For our meal, we ordered eight dishes, which we shared between us. The time from ordering to serving at the table was around 25 minutes (the order was freshly cooked). We ordered a range of dishes, starting with the chicken dhansak, which was very tasty, coming with freshly cooked pilao rice. To join this, we ordered: a vegetable korma (delicious creamy sauce, with a good variety of vegetables, all gently and subtly spiced, and plenty of coconut); a chana masala (gently spicy, well-balanced flavours); onion bhajis (generously portioned, freshly cooked and pleasantly moist and crisp); saag paneer (deliciously creamy, very vegetarian friendly); brinjal bhaji (not actually on the menu, but the chef made a very decent effort, considering it was only cooked in less than half an hour). The service was comical from start to finish. When we arrived, the restaurant only had one couple inside. We mentioned we’d booked and the waiter huffed like it was hard work to find our table. Ordering online and the wait times were fantastic. Super fast. Get home and it goes downhill rapidly. Upon unboxing we were already beginning to doubt our choices of takeaway we had used. Tikka masala had so much food colouring that it almost glowed. My wife’s biriyani rice looked bland and soggy. Regardless we pushed on. Still hopeful of a miracle. At this point I will add we have recently returned from 15 years overseas. A good healthy portion of that time in the Middle East where we had daily experiences of fantastic authentic Indian,Pakistani and south Asian foods. Tikka masala is quite possibly the worst I have ever eaten. I have no explanation for how it’s possible to make a tikka masala taste like a piece of chicken in water. (That’s glowing red) there was no taste. I even waited and waited hoping for even a hint of aftertaste. Nothing! To cut a long story short we know have a bin full of 1/3rd eaten Indian from a takeaway that we sadly won’t be going back to. Save you money and go buy a masala in a packet from Tesco. Probably more taste. Probably less food colouring. Attached pics of tikka and the keema nan that had no meat until you get the last 3rd of it. (No it’s not in a thick pile at the back. It’s a thin layer but just short 2/3rds of covering the entire width of the nan.

Restaurant is clean and presented in subtle lighting makes for an intimate dining experience. Staff here are attentive and very welcoming. We had booked for 6.00pm as buffet should finish at 5.00pm. Booked for a party of 8 people and were given two separate tables of 4 which we moved together ourselves as staff though this was fine and were hence not very attentive. 50% of the food we ordered was very nice however there were some very disappointing dished indeed. Sparkling soft drinks were generally flat as it seemed previous;y opened bottles were being used up. Staff were also not attentive in asking if we would like further drinks, so we just kept waving them down. Took an age to receive the bill after asking three times, and no one bothered to open the door for when we left or even a thank you. Worst of all is that myself and my wife who shared a particular chicken dish which no one else in our group had were suffering extremely upset stomachs in the early hours of the morning and continuing through the next day. We both commented at the time on the chicken, and if I didn't know better I just wonder if left over chicken from the afternoon buffet finds its way into some of the evening meals. I sure I am wrong here, but having been so unwell one just questions these things. Never felt so unwell ever before after eating a curry, and I've been eating them for over 40 years.

Service was great didn’t feel rushed at all even when the restaurant was busy later on during the night (around 7, we got there at half 5.) Mrs had the chicken tikka biryani I had the chicken tikka masala both really nice. Peshwari naan was amazing. Atmosphere and vibe was good too they clearly are liked round the town as restaurant was busy and lots of takeaways/phone calls. Only complaints were the portion sizes were a tad small, my chicken tikka masala only had around 6 bits of chicken and the vegetable curry for the biryani was in a small dish. Other than that very nice restaurant would come back, staff very friendly and helpful too. Good pricing considering we had a fair bit to drink.

Butter chicken with little bits of shredded chicken and again sweet with sugar. Look up recipes for these dishes and none of them are authentic. Do not recommend! Atmosphere was awkward and food horrific. We sent our main back because the sauce was lumpy and the pineapple was so sour it made it inedible. Each ingredent was just cooked perfectly, car park is a huge draw. Easy to get too, park up easy, quick service on the front, 10-15mins later food to feed 7 people followed by us all looking at each other asking to try each others. Prawn crackers cooked right, not oily,didnt leave a weird taste and the right pop. Chilli beef is green chilli so you can actually enjoy the flavours rather than burn yourself. Perfection !
