Service was fast and friendly, and the food was fantastic. The Thali consisted of a mini lamb dansak, mini chicken masala and a mini vegetable jalfrezi, naan bread and rice. There was plenty of food without any extra sides needed. The restaurant itself is fairly small and intimate, not that many tables so I'd suggest booking especially if you're a group larger than 4. It's somewhat dated but authentic and has evidently been a part of Rayleigh highstreet for many years. Highly recommend!

We have been getting our Indian take away from The Dpuce Hut, Rawreth Lane, Rayleigh. We are at the moment working our way through their quite amazing menu. We have actually discovered that the take away from the Spice Hut is actually tastier than some of the more expensive Restaurants we have been to. It’s Friday/Saturday night, you want to relax with a great meal, you will not get better than a take away from The Spice Hut Rayleigh. My only regret is, they don’t have any of the numerous Indian sweets that would make the finish to my evening meal. Enjoy your Spuce Hut experience.

The menu looked good, but the food itself was very poor standard. Crispy duck was very dry and chewy. Very dry char sieuw which was inedible as it tasted like it was reheated and very difficult to chew. Never had a portion of char sieuw served swimming in a very sweet sauce which tasted identical to the chicken hong kong style sauce! No vegetable with the chicken hong kong style apart from one small piece of carrot. Prawn fried rice had no flavour and again very dry, although there were 9 good sized prawns. Prawn crackers were the saving grace! Very disappointed and would not recommend. Most of the food went in the bin. The delivery lady was very friendly 🙂

We ordered with a 40 min delivery time due at 8pm. We received our food after 9pm. The delivery driver was polite and apologetic offering us a discount next time we order. Sadly the food was just not good enough that we would want to order from there again. The naan bread was stale and inedible poppadoms were shop bought not fresh. The ‘hand crafted’ samosas were no such thing just shop bought again. Lastly the curries we ordered themselves were tasteless and very oily. Most of the food went in the bin we only had a couple of tablespoons of each curry to try before giving up. If you are on a diet and want the anticipation of ordering a takeaway as a ‘cheat’ day but have to stay in your calories then go for it!! I went to bed hungry and disappointed. Next time I’ll Just get an M&S meal deal. Shame as we like supporting local businesses where possible.
