They were able to accommodate our large group in the bar area. We went at a perfect time, there was literally zero wait. Everything was great. Like a non-Indians first attempt at tikka masla at home, from a recipe they found on an online blog posted by someone who wasn't Indian. It was thin, with big tomato chunks, unmarinated strips of chicken instead of chunks, the wrong flavor profile from the spices, wrong color, and the saddest naan I've ever seen that would have been better from Walmart. It was also accompanied with plain white rice. Not even basmati. I've been to every corner fo the USA, and I've ate Tikka Masala in more cities than I can count. This was the worst by far. BY FAR. Also, at $21, it was one of the most expensive tikka masala's I've ever had, and THE smalles5 portion I've ever had. I took 3 bites, pushed it to the end of the bar, and 10-15 minutes later the bartender asks: "Do you want a box?" I laughed and asked for the check.

Their food is so good and quality. I’ve never had a complaint about service either. I’ve been going here over a decade it feels like. However, yes I understand inflation is a thing and understand the economy blows, but in the last couple years their sushi prices have DOUBLED. And yes I remember what they used to be lol. For only a couple years, I don’t think they should have doubled. It used to be pretty affordable, although still higher end compared to others in the area. The lady taking orders was friendly and spoke good English. There was a lunch special that included a plate with rice and either 1,2, or 3 items. I decided to get double General Tso Chicken and beef and vegetable with fried rice and an egg roll. I also ordered a separate appetizer of crab rangoons. My order was fulfilled very quickly and at a fair price. They do have some tables there, but seating is limited. When I got to eating my food, I thought it was a mixed bag. The General Tso chicken had good flavor but the coating was bad; it was like eating a weird emulsion. The beef and vegetable was mediocre and lacked good flavor. It was Lansings best kept secret. I loved it. No more. Must be new owners and they don't know how to cook. General Tsaos chicken was like eating the soles of leather shoes. Sauce was awful. Then there was the hot and Sour soup. All three of these items went in the garbage disposal. And the worst part, this is strike three. So it's my fault for going back. The old staff was kind, generous and talented. This staff is rude, doesn't know the basics about cooking and doesn't care. And yes the portions are greatly reduced this year but it doesn't really matter as you wouldn't want to eat it anyway. They should leave while they still can because it's pretty obvious no one is going there any more. Feathers and chicken skin in my soup? Really? They must think we are idiots.

But, they charge an EXTRA $3 to actually get the fried rice, which would be fine if it actually tasted like hibachi! For birthdays, they give you a dressed up pineapple with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. I know this from my first birthday here. It was a nice treat then. However, on my second birthday here, the server was way too quick to leave our table before we could even bring it up. But, she literally looked at my ID for me to get a beer (while taking other people's orders) which they could've made the realization that it was my actual birthday if they actually looked at my DOB. So when we finally got the chance to bring it up, they said that they had already closed up the part of the kitchen that makes those treats, even though it was still within their open business hours. So that was a bummer. They also did not have the beer that I had ordered from their menu so I had to get an alternative beer. The other half of our table got asked what they wanted for desert as I guess if you get the more expensive hibachi plates, it comes included, which wasn't clear to us from looking at the menu. Looking back at it, they have two sections: "Complete Dinner" and "Special Dinner"--this one is where dinners come with desert. But the special dinner section is marked up with fancy names, so we just went back and read the section that made the most sense to us non-Japanese readers, which was the "Complete Dinner" section. Anyways, it was awkward because our half of the table wasn't even asked if we wanted any deserts regardless. I was later told that they should have asked, because even though it would've been extra, a scoop of their ice cream only costs a $1!! The chef also had his little order slip right in front of him, on the emergency sprayers, but he still got it wrong; he gave someone else at our table my steak, when they had ordered the chicken. If I wasn't drinking and the other person wasn't cool about giving it back, we would've had a big problem. The steak itself was mid. My wife got the salmon which was only good with the sweet glaze that they put on it. The only food rating star that was well-deserved was from the Tyson Sushi Roll. Which was very delicious. We got it both times, but we forgot that we ordered it for my first birthday, so it was kinda funny that ended up picking it out again. If you find yourself coming here even after reading my review, know that this sushi roll is really good! The food was amazing, great show and friendly staff! Since covid, this place has truly gone down hill. My husband and I went tonight around 8pm and had 'steve' as our 'chef'.. he did a decent show, but butchered our food. He mixed our meat with teriyaki sauce from someone else's meal, burnt the shrimp, and over cooked the lobster. Portions were way off. I hardly had veggies(which is the best part imo). They have some kids food and soft serve ice cream but I think hibachi grill had a leg up with chicken nuggets. I will say the tables and booths were better maintained than the grills. Things have changed though, and not for the better unfortunately. They do have dining in now but it's kind of strange. You have to order your meal 1st at the counter, then you can be seated. You are not offered any soft drinks; only hot tea or water that are in jugs in the dining area. The food is served on Styrofoam plates, and if you want a straw you have to ask. Unfortunately the food was below par. The chicken did not taste like chicken and the fried rice was extremely salty; almost inedible. The food itself was greasy but good. Orange and sesame chicken were very good but VERY dried out, as though they had been sitting under a heat lamp or boxed up hours ago. Very little extra sauce at the bottom to counter this problem. Made the experience of those two items disappointing. Bourbon chicken was my favorite. Fresh or leftovers, it had the perfect amount of sauce, the perfect flavours. It was amazing. Beef and broccoli was okay, absolutely packed with food, not as flavourful as some places. The pepper and onion steak was SOO good. Wish they offered a full serving. The braised pork belly was far too sweet and had too much gelatinized fat on it for my tastes. The lo mein and Vegetable Cantonese Chow Mein both tasted good for what was on offer. I did not care for the egg roll that came along. All in all, I will make an return visit for their bourbon chicken for sure and if I ask for orange or sesame chicken I'll be sure to ask for extra sauce to counter any dried-out issues.

We had the BBQ and the portions were good sized, flavors were excellent, and the cost was as expected. We had brisket, pork belly, and the sweet marinated chicken, and the chicken was the standout. The kimbap was really tasty and I like the rice they used. It's not something I was familiar with in this setting but it worked! The Korean fried chicken was really tasty but I did find one that wasn't thoroughly cooked all they way. The cuts of pork belly were pretty lean. Would have loved a bit more fat on them! And I wish we didn't have to use the parchment paper on the grill. I feel like it loses the chance of getting the meats to be crispy, but I do understand that it helps the clean up process. We were VERY VERY disappointed. We were in the car for 8 hours the day we ordered and were looking forward to a yummy sushi dinner. The delivery driver was great. Unfortunately, we couldn't finish 1/4 of the meal. I always look forward to a good ginger salad dressing on my salad - this dressing was sub par. I ordered the hibachi steak. The entire meal (except the rice) was BOILED. I had boiled steak and veggies that were in a take out container full of bland liquid. OK, so let's fill up on rice - nope, even the rice was nearly inedible. It tasted like it has been sitting in a crock pot since earlier in the week. On to the sushi - my husband ordered a roll and some fish sushi. The individual fish pieces were edible. However, we each took a bite of the roll and it went straight into the trash. It also tasted like it was made at least the day before. We spent $95 on what we thought was going to be a yummy meal and it was a complete disappointment. Of all the food, we were only able to eat the miso soup and half of the sushi fish pieces. Thankfully we headed to Horrocks after and were able to get a few treats to fill our hungry bellies.

I ordered several different dim sums as well as the 3 course Peking duck. Everything I ordered was delicious. I also had a tonbof left over which were just as delicious the next day. First the Peking duck was excellently cooked. It was priced the best out of places I have gone to before with some restaurants charging around $100 in other areas for far less food. On top of the Peking Duck itself, it was served with a duck soup and duck cooked with some veggies. It was a lot of food for an incredibly low price. With each of the 3 courses tasting just as delicious as the last. The duck soup is rich in flavor with lots of chunks of duck meat. This by itself is enough to feed 2 or 3 people. As for the dim sum. I ordered several different things most of which I forgot the names of at this point. But everything was so delicious. I ordered these friend pumpkin filled ones that where definitely my favorite. I also ordered beef tripe which was cooked to perfection. I think I ordered about 8 or 10 different dishes. The staff was amazing. Everyone was so nice and kind and they even helped me pack up my leftovers. I was checked on several times and made to feel everything welcomed. This place is well worth the visit, the food is excellence with prices that are just as great. I will definitely check them out again when I am in the area and I very much look forward to returning.
