However, the Pechuga de Pollo Adobada con Escabeche de Calabaza was a disappointment. The grilled chicken was drastically overcooked, probably because they used really lean breast meat. The accompanying Caribbean pumpkin was interesting, but too small. The other side of rice and beans was perfect, though--great bean texture and lots of savory flavor. With tax and tip included, our meal came out to $33. $33! You can't even get lunch for one person for that price at 90% of Manhattan restaurants south of Central Park. I could've cried with wonder at the bill. Time travel is real guys--at least financially. Just hop into El DeLorean and come to Chango.

Security at the door asked to check my ID. The music was so loud I had to shout my order to the bartender 1.5ft away from me. The yuzu smash was delicious. I got a glass of Pinot noir to finish which was just OK. I also got the tiramisu to-go. Probably the worst tiramisu I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t call it a tiramisu but more like a cream cheese mouse pie with “slight” coffee flavor. Couldn’t finish after the first bite. The worst of all - this place charged me more than what they advertised. I’ve posted photos of the menu that night plus my receipt. They charged me $17 for the Yuzu smash and $17 for the glass of Pinot noir but the menu states the cost of $16 each respectively. Will not be going back. I don’t respect a place that doesn’t hold to what it claims.

I recently passed and decided to try out their lunch to see if it still held the crown. The first thing you notice here is that this restaurant is combined with a bar. The same lady answered the phone and after telling her I was the same person who was just on the phone and asking if she hung up on me, as per her bervatim, she tells me that she doesn't have the time to do this, and said so in a very unkind and unprofessionad way. The curry sauce was great but I don't normally love braised beef because it tends to be chewy and/or dry. Sitting down in the booths and chairs everything has a lot of wear and tear to it. Some of the cushions I think have been taped to be held together.. The cutlery didn't appear to be all that clean either shown in the photos, and the menu was taped together. The food overall was okay. The soup had a weird taste that I couldn't get past, and the sauce on one of the chicken dishes we ordered was just so watery. The service was great and they were very attentive and super friendly. Definitely a spot to maybe get take out from, but not the first of my choices to dine in.

They are slow and not accurate. Today we asked for spring rolls for our appetizer, after all the food was served the lady came to our table with something else and said we are out of spring rolls but you can try these. We were like we don't want these we want spring rolls but she said you should try these instead and thinking they were complimentary because they didn't have the spring rolls we accepted it. Then when we wanted to pay for our food the lady charged us for the thing we didn't order and when I said we didn't order them she said you had them!!! I was with a friend and I didn't want to argue so I ended up paying for the stuff but that was unacceptable! I'm so disappointed that such a great place has such a bad service! I recommend this place, but be careful about what you order and what you are being served!
