We started with the barbacoa stackers which were absolutely delicious!! My favorite thing I tried there! I’ll have to take his word for it ‘cause, you know, “fool me once…” LOL For entrees, we ordered the fried shrimp & fish platter that came with homemade French fries and also ordered the scallops & risotto. Honestly, the fish & shrimp were perfectly coated and not overcooked at all. The breading was just crispy enough to compliment the tenderness of the shrimp and fish. The fries were skin-on traditional style with a touch of sea salt. As for the scallops and risotto, I have to say that I felt the basil parmesean risotto and arugula overpowered the scallops. While the scallops were perfectly seared, their sweetness was only uncovered if you ate them by themselves. I think the underlying basil flavor is what made this dish less than perfect for my taste. The bitterness of the arugula was also a bit of a distraction to the pallet, so I just pick it out and pushed it to the side. If I were to order it again, I would ask if the risotto could be prepared without the basil and would ask the cook to leave off the arugula. Overall, it was a very nice meal, and the next time we drive through Round Rock and are in the mood for seafood, we’ll give it another visit.

The parmesan truffle fries are just bursting with flavor and the truffle sauce they are served with, is incredible, I'd put it on everything. They use thin cut fries which are not my favorite but the flavor makes up for it. If you're a fan of goat cheese, the magic shroom burger is a must try. Absolutely delicious. I'm not sure how I'll try anything else on the menu bc I'll want to order this every time. Goat cheese is definitely the dominant flavor. My partner ordered the doddy melt, gave it a thumbs up too 👍. My son spilled his water and they were there within a few seconds and 4 different people were cleaning it up and getting him a new water. Really incredible how they worked so quickly and fluidly, it was really impressive to watch and that doesn't happen in customer service very often nowadays. Unfortunately, the food is just meh. The server said it was sausage gravy. That is all over the menu but the sausage is barely obvious and it's pretty bland. I can help with tweak that recipe because it should really be a shining star since it's all over the menu and a staple. It's a missed opportunity I think. A few other dishes were just okay and the grits also were bland, but if they can get the food on par with the service, they'll really shine. You've got to do the biscuits and sausage gravy better though!

Food's pretty good and service were stellar and their meals are decently portioned. We appreciated the person we were ordering with gave us a heads up that the sandwich didn’t come with the fries. Unfortunately the cakes were pretty dry towards the end of the day on Sunday, so get them when they’re fresher or maybe they would need to use a different container for them that’s less vented. The area around the fountain drinks could also use a little better cleaning since it was super sticky around that area. Bathrooms are clean (though they are solo bathrooms) and I like the decorations on the walls. The menu is pretty big, so I’d love to come back and try more of their options!

My consigliere and I tried two choices - The Bonnie & Clyde Cheesesteak and the Italian Beef Sandwich. The Bonnie & Clyde has an Italian sausage on the bottom of the roll with a full Chicago Cheese Steak on top. They use a very generous amount of grilled sirloin piled high with peppers, onions mushrooms and melted white American cheese. It is a delicious beast of a handheld. We have been on a roll lately, pun intended, tasting great cheesesteaks across the region including R&Bs, Mum Foods, Hoodies, Grata's and Litttle Deli. RIP 1776 and Way South Philly. Delaware Sub is up tp try next. Wiseguys' version definitely should be in the conversation for Best of Austin (Overall Cheesesteak, but not a true Philly). The Italian Beef is technically a sandwich. However, I chose the wet version of it, where their homemade au jus sauce is poured over top. It is served in a little foil shell. This is key, because under a huge handful of seasoned roast beef, and sweet peppers there is a bun. The foil on the bottom allowed the au jus to soak into the bread and create soft mouth-watering bites best accessed with a knife and fork. Did I mention I added fresh gardinia and melted cheese on top? I was told by the manager if you can only get one sandwich, get the Italian Beef. Now you can see why. I would be remiss if I did not tell you about their hot dogs. I was personally in Chicago two weeks ago for my daughter's wedding and stopped by Portillo's & Barnelli's for an authentic Chicago-style dog. It is considered one of the top places to get these treats. I know, it's very touristy, but my point is, it set the standard for what a Chicago-style hot dog should be. Wiseguys buys their meats from the Windy City. All the toppings are done the same way as my frank was dressed at P&Bs down to the really green relish, tomatoes, and sport peppers. With no disrespect to Midway Dogs (south of Austin) Mad Dogs (near UT) or T-Loc Sonora (off of Burnett), Wiseguys makes a real case for best hot dogs in the city. About 3 PM. The place is really dead. There’s nobody inside a few people on a laptop and that’s about it. I got the two hotdog combo which is two dogs of your choice. I elected for the chili cheese dog and a plain mustard dog with ketchup, french fries and a Pepsi. I believe it was about $14 with tip. The cashier was very friendly and inviting. I was given a number got my drink and found a seat in the corner with ESPN on and waiting for my food. What about five minutes later and the server brought up my food and looked awesome. The fries were fresh. The first bite of the chili cheese dog.was awesome , that snap that we all love with hotdogs was delicious. I only wish I would’ve got two chili cheese dog versus the other one with mustard, but that was just as good. The hotdog bun was soft and fresh and had poppy seeds on it. No complaints here very filling lunch and for the price well worth it. I will definitely be back to try the dipped beef sandwich which I haven’t had in years as well. I had to order an additional shot of Kahlúa to actually give it that flavor that your custom of seeing an espresso martini. From a food perspective, I ordered chicken tenders and got chicken nuggets. The chicken tenders at Chick-fil-A was more hearty than what I paid for at this restaurant. The Parmesan fries were good. The mac & cheese was got awful with no taste. It was truly awful. I had the salmon with broccoli and rice. The salmon, cooked just right, not dry, moist and wonderfully tasty, the broccoli was excellent and the rice was good. I call it good because while it was warm, I felt it could have been warmer to match the temperature of the salmon or broccoli both I felt were at very good temperatures. NO ROOM FOR DESSERT. To cap off the day, Brendan (sp?, the front of house manager) and Fabianna, General Mgr. stopped by - nice touch. We talked about the changes in the CEO and leadership teams and the fact they can see the work paying off.
