The food did not live up to the standards of the tv show whatsoever. His eggs were soup and my hash browns were completely underdone. His steak was rubbery, small and fatty. The middle of my hash browns were mush. The hollandaise was disgusting and tasted like no other hollandaise we had ever had. The first waitress that came over acted like it wasn’t a big deal, but did apologize. Our actual waitress was nice enough to take my husband’s meal off of the ticket. I just want to warn everyone who saw Somebody, Somewhere that it is nothing like the tv show makes it out to be and you will be disappointed. It’s very overpriced and underwhelming.

The potatoes seemed definitely old and very soggy Ontop of all this, almost no apology for the burger situation, we weren’t angry, it happens we just asked to have it made again so it could be safe for him. This bar/ restaurant is connected to the Holiday Inn that sits parallel with Kansas State University. This first time trying it here, years ago, wasn't the best first impression. I had their fettuccine alfredo and the noodles itself were a little tough and with the calamari I felt like there was a lot going on for a simplistic dish. Or maybe I just didn't enjoy the peppers. Recently, I've given it another go when I stayed at the hotel every so often. Not every dish was a winner, but I had my favorites. My favorite would have to be the Lemony Chicken Piccata and their butter Cake. The noodles that came with were better and the chicken was cooked perfectly, all the right seasonings. And the dessert featuring the butter cake, delicious, warm and topped with vanilla ice cream. I liked the caesar salad as well and with the polenta, ups the game. The only real problem I had this go around was I ordered the chicken caesar salad to-go online, they forgot the chicken. I mean it's in the name, haha. The parking is a decent size, it is shared with the hotel so you shouldn't have a problem and the interior is clean and decent location size as well.

That being said, while I would normally give this place a better rating, I must address something else. We had been checked on one time by another server as we finished the onion rings. By 5:15 the hostess took my partial water glass away and never did return with a full glass. At 5:40 I asked our server how long it should be to get a burger. She went to ask the manager. Incidentally the manager was constantly at a register 15 ft away and would not even look over at us. I asked another server to please get a manager as our food was no where to be seen. Finally at 6pm the food arrived. My daughter had a hot dish of chicken Alfredo, my wife received a wilted salad that had sat on a counter for 30 minutes and I received a burger and fries, with the fries cooler than my skin temp, the burger was cool inside and no longer even warm. I kept my cool and when our server came back 12 minutes later I asked for a manager for the second time. When the manager finally came to our table, she asked if we were the table that had a slow turn. Duh... Sunday night and there was no way I was eating cold fries and a cold burger. She did offer to take the plates and not charge us. After 90 minutes of my time you offer me only to take away the food? Oh, and take it off the bill. No offer to fix it, remake the burger or provide something different. At this point I'm so pissed off at Applebee's that I'm just not even going to have anything for dinner. Sunday night with my family and we get to watch a lot of others eat. The only excuse was that the burger and salad got made and sat there because the pasta didn't print out. You failed from the server not checking on us. You failed from the manager who had to see us in her field of view right behind the register every time she was at the station. The kitchen failed for not asking why was that food sitting there for 30 minutes. Then knowing it sat there that long you had the nerve to serve it to me. Now if you were running a packed house I could sympathize some with you. But remember we came in before 5, you didn't even have 10 tops seated in the whole house. There were 14 when we left. After the manager had offered to take the plates off the bill I calmly stated no, you can comp the whole ticket. She said she could and never came back to our table. Never bothered to say sorry we screwed up your dinner, can we send something home with you since you had one bite of a cold burger and a couple like warm fries. This was the worst dining experience I have had in decades. Hopefully your corporate reads the reviews. As a GM for other businesses, I can tell you you get one chance to make an impression. When you fail on multiple levels you go out of your way to do whatever you can for the customer to make it right. You don't send them off hungry after one family member gets a good hot meal while we had to watch, and you stiff the others. I would give you zero stars if I could. I ordered the Big D with half fries and my partner ordered the Urban Cowboy with the white cheddar cheese curds. 2 medium cherry limeades as well. Total came out to be around $40.00 But the burgers oh boy those burgers were filling and delicious. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. My mouth is honestly watering just thinking about them. Whether you get it plain or with the toppings of your choice it will hit the spot. Partner got the bacon and egg with their burger which were additional charges. The egg was cooked over medium so you didnt get the yolk running all over your hands. The bacon was soft with a crunch on the outside. The fries are beer battered and were perfectly crispy and soft. They were also salted enough. The white cheddar cheese curds were so freaking good! I definitely took one or two from my partner. Food came out very quickly! We didnt have to wait long at all and they will call out your oder at the window to pick up or bring it to you. You can get the food to go or they have three tables outside and limited seating inside. If you do sit outside there's going to be some flies(as expected- they are next to a gas station and again you are outside). But it was a really nice day out and we enjoyed our time sitting and eating. Highly recommend this place if you just want a good burger and maybe some fries or cheese curds. I will definitely be back to try those onion rings and one of their sandwiches or sausage dog.

We had around 6 other family members join us. Our server Tyler was very attentive and kept up on our drinks. The food took a little while but it was understandable since we were such a big table. Many would say oh Kansas huh, what did you have mashed potatoes and biscuits and gravy! Well the first outting has proven this could not be further from the truth. Honestly it didn't matter, it was incredible. Flavors and spices were present in ways never practiced on a potato with a red sauce that could nearly be eaten and enjoyed by itself. Hers came with a steak, a fine cut potato below it and grilled cauliflower. I never realized potatoes could be cut that fine and the steak had a flavor that can not truly be described other than saying it was delicious and had what felt like a shadow flavor that was unknown as well. She absolutely loved the cauliflower and said the texture was perfect instead of a typical squishy vegetable. We finished it off with the chocolate cheese cake topped with marshmallow and an orange sauce. It was so soft and rich in flavor. Not too hard yet not too soft either. The orange flavor is faint yet present and the marshmallow compliments the cake extremely well. If you want a treat, this is the place to go. It is fine dining in an unexpected location. Big city flavor in a small town vibe. Could not recommend any higher! Amazing!
