The ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium rare. I ordered the rosemary butter to add on top which was good but not really necessary. The steak was delicious on its own. The seared ahi tuna was delicious, and the brownie in our dessert was warm and fudgie and oh so good. I was a little hesitant about the baked Feta, but I actually quite liked it. My only complaint about the food were the mozzarella sticks. I'm not sure if they were meant to be served like this or not, but I'm not particularly fond of mozzarella stick and are completely solid where it's feels like you're just biting into hard cheese rolled in breadcrumbs. Outside of that the food we got was delicious. Oh! I didn't get a picture of this but the bread they serve with the garlic confit was yum yum good as well. We also got 2 martinis. I personally wasn't a fan of them, but that's not fault to the drinks. I think I just realized that I might not be a martini girly. 🍸 As far as the atmosphere, it's a casual dining atmosphere with dim lighting and mellow vibe, or atleast my experience was. I don't remember what our waitress' name was but she mention that they were short staffed. I honestly couldn't tell because she did a great job tending to our needs and making sure to check in with us regularly. Overall this was a great experience and I will definitely be stopping by here again the next time I'm in town.

Marcos provided exceptional service and took time to answer our questions for our first trip to Pelicans. We wanted to try someplace that wasn't on our usual rotation for our anniversary. The taste of the Pizzas are GREAT - but this time they were not warm at all - and the soup my wife had was barely warm. Not a great experience. My major complaint is the bathroom. It smells like a sewer plant. The only thing about that is, if am owner allows a place the public can go to get in that condition, it makes you wonder about the kitchen where the customers can't go. Got 2 for $30 meals with appetizer. Spinach-artichoke dip and chips was great. Got 2 half orders of ribs with BBQ sauce and garlic mashed potatoes. Potatoes were also great but ribs were obviously left-over from previous day. They were not hot, texture was dry and leathery. Since it was very early in the evening the ribs should have been juicy and tender but they weren't. Told the waiter but I doubt anything will be done. We were celebrating a personal triumph but this meal was not the right one for that. Corporate responded that the location would contact us. Manager of location did ask if a digital gift card would be ok. I responded sure. One month later nothing. Don't go to this restaurant if you want something good for your hard earned money!! I 've travelled extensively throughout US and this Applebee's is rated lowest in my opinion!! Checked back 6-24-25, no response from Wichita Falls management. Even though main office said to reach out, there will be no effort to correct poor food or service. DON'T GO THERE!! BTW - no gift card as of 11-9-25. Just because they respond doesn't mean you will get anything for bad service. They must hire the worst mgrs of the worst!! Sray way away, including Veterans' Day. I'm a vet!

In my humble opinion, it is without the a doubt the BEST burger I've had in Wichita Falls and definitely in the Top 5 Best Burgers in Texas. We ended up visiting with the owner before we left and he informed us this location has been here since the 1960's but it was originally established uo the street a ways back in the 1950's. There isn't anything fancy or out of the ordinary when dining here, and maybe that's what works so well. Maybe it reminds me of a simpler time when going in here. Just sitting in a booth, visiting with the person across form you, and enjoying an out of this world, juicy cheeseburger and hand battered onion rings. There is a large selection of "main foods" as well as sides and desserts. My stomach was already out of room by the time I got to desserts, but the dessert of the day was peach cobbler and I was sad I had no room left. There is also a handful of flavors if you are craving a good, old fashioned milkshake. The owner said the customer base was mainly folks in their 60's, however, I can't stress enough how many people should try this place despite their age. The location to some people may seem "sketchy" to some, but don't let that be a factor and keep you from eating here. We felt perfectly comfortable while dining here and enjoyed every minute of it. So... Bottom line... If you want a burger that will make you full from a meal and an enjoyable, affordable lunch/dinner, then I HIGHLY recommend Gene's Tasty Burger. You will not be disappointed!!

The place is small but cozy - nice decor. The menu has all you need in a BarBQ restaurant. They also have the deal of the day, which seems to be a good deal. We were four persons dining this day - so we ended up tasting just a small portion of the menu - we all wanted the brisket and/or sausage. We just loved the brisket (Chopped and sliced) and the polish sausage. We tried out the regular as well as the spicy barbecue sauce. Both were very tasty. I loved the jalapeno beans. Even though we have tons in Ft Worth I gave never tried it. It was absolutely delicious. We had the pulled pork on a bun one with spicy sauce and one with sweet sauce. We loved it. Sauce was great. That's right, JUST the burger, for this much. Fries will run you $3, and if you get the combo, you'll save a maybe a buck. Bringing the total per person, per meal, to say least $12. That's almost upscale restaurant prices. Sure the food is great, the custard is superb. But in this day I'm age, in this economy, I'm not sure that most families can justify spending this much on just a regular burger meal. Other than that, great place in the Wichita Falls area
