The reason for it is they have mastered perfectly what smoked beef brisket should be. It is not too salty, it is delicate almost like a fine steak, it has a minimum of fat and it never has a burned crust, it is not over smoked and it has no off or strange flavors. It is delicious by itself. If I could order a plate of nothing but a half a pound of this meat that is all I would eat. It does not need sauce, although their sauces are excellent you have four or five different house-made sauces and they are truly fine without being overwhelming. This particular trip, my party also had the smoked chicken wings and the pulled chicken sandwich which were both also excellent. Don't judge a restaurant by its appearance you'll see what I mean this is not the perfect venue, but the food is top notch, always definitely recommend! I LOVE BBQ and I am also gluten intolerant, so this was an oasis in a sea of McD’s and Taco Hell’s 😜 Try the Spicy Sweet BBQ, so good! All sauces and seasonings are made in-house and gluten free 🙌🏻 Gluten free buns weren’t dry like I usually encounter. Tator tots were crispy bites of perfection! I can’t say one bad thing about the place. Our waitress was so sweet and attentive! Offered multiple refills and to-go cups… that’s unheard of in Chicago! Definitely coming back next time we’re in the area! Thanks for a great meal!! Note: I got the BBQ pulled pork and topped it with coleslaw. I got the 3 meat sampler with half rack of baby backs, brisket and pulled pork with baked beans and added a side of potato salad. See pictures. The brisket portion was small (a few small, thin strips of the flat side) which looked like shoe leather and tasted very bland and old. The pulled pork was also very bland. The ribs were no more than ok but needed help from the sauce but also looked pretty dead. The beans were like Bush's with a little sauce added and the potato salad was underwhelming. I was not about to waste my time and more of my money going back to your restaurant to tell them how horrible i thought it was. You should stop getting so defensive and petty when someone leaves you a review and trying to deflect something negative back on to your customers. If you can't handle some honest feedback on the product you put out, then you shouldn't be in business. What you should be doing is using any feedback you get to improve your product. What would you say to Chef Robert Irvine if he said your food was garbage? Would you call him names like a little kid throwing a tantrum or would you take the constructive critizism and improve? I have my own ideas as to which it would be. I don't like restaurants that put out horrible food, horrible service or a bad customer experience all together because we customers work really hard for the little money the goverment doesn't take from us and when we go out somewhere and spend it, we want it to be worth it. It doesn't matter where in the world it is. Yours, in my specific experience, was not. Period. While shocked, I politely said again that I only have a couple of bites remaining and may I please just have a moment to finish my meal. She said "no, you're leaving now". My friend and I stepped up from the table to walk to the door and she followed behind us as if we were children. I told her that this is no way to treat customers and she again said "you're leaving" as she pulled the door closed and immediately locked it. I am not one that normally complains, but this was disgusting and disturbing behavior, especially coming from a member of the store's management staff. That Assistant Manager should be ashamed for her attitude and actions and I sincerely hope that action is taken to ensure no one else is treated so rudely and disrespectful at this restaurant again.

Music levels were good and they didn't play Christmas music thankfully! The only thing that was woefully behind is the bathroom! The single toilet is super short, the paper towel location makes your hands drip on the toilet when you wash your hands and there is no warm water. Also it is unisex and seems to be the only bathroom. Long line to wait for the facilities.

When I asked, after being ignored for 10 minutes at the counter, whether this McDonald's just prefers you to use the drive thru for orders I was more or less told that I'll be waiting till it's ready either way so I might as well use the drive thru. So I leave the store to wait in an understandable slow line only to literally see that same employee who was mopping go behind the counter and grab another door dash driver their order! I was literally sitting in the drive thru long enough to see at least a couple people at 11am use the ordering screens and pickup their food while I sat in a drive thru for an order id already went inside to pickup. It's beyond frustrating, and I absolutely will never be walking inside said store again unless they literally make me when I inevitably have to go through the drive thru. The only reason I'm not willing to give them a 1 star is because I do believe that the employees are nice, but for the love of God if you don't want to interact with in store employees on the night shift then just say so. Make a sign that says drive thru only, or use the drop off shelves you clearly have. Obviously my main frustration is other McDonald's in the area have literally told me I HAVE to walk inside for door dash orders even at 12-2AM, but this McDonald's will just literally ignore you until YOU feel the need to bother them.
