I've eaten here twice, both for lunch: first experience was fine (4/5) and the second experience was rough (2/5). I'm not looking to unfairly rate this place two stars or below since some dishes are cooked and seasoned well, mostly the small plates. Other than for the possibility of finding egg shell in the tiramisu's custard, I'd recommend to skip it because it varries between fine and some bites being extremely bland. It's also topped with Cool Whip. Overall (on average): service is fine, atmosphere is nothing special, and the food is a miss with some ok dishes being the best case. If you must go, I'd pick something that can't be undercooked (pasta, sandwich, etc.), stick with small plates (e.g. calamari), and skip dessert. We were never asked if we'd like coffee with our dessert which is generally standard for a restaurant. Overall the service and food is not great. Also watch out for this; I just looked this up and in MA it's illegal for a restaurant to charge you a surcharge for using a credit card. This restaurant does this so beware and report. I was charged an additional $5 for using a credit card (almost everyone uses credit cards). Make certain that doesn't happen to you.

Our July wedding was held outside the old Union Meeting House. It was a warm day in the mid 80s. After the ceremony there was a wonderful outdoor set up of snacks with an open bar. We moved inside the Carriage House before the bride and groom returned from their photoshoot. The Carriage House was air-conditioned but not quite cool enough on this 80+ degree day. When we entered the building we found our name tags with our assigned table. The table was adorned with beautiful place where we found a small glass of water. The water was gone in a quick sip and we were never offered another glass for the next two hours. We found we could go to the bar for a refill. I saw the staff bringing out ice water to some tables later on but we still waited a while for our table to receive some. We were all parched so it was gone in an instant. The food arrived and looked amazing but my prime rib was the toughest and fattiest cut of prime rib I ever had. The garlic mashed potatoes were cold and the green beans were hard as if they were picked from the garden and served raw. After dinner there were side tables with dainty desserts. They were delicious. Coffee was help yourself style in a small pot on this side table where they finally installed a jug of water. The wedding was fun and beautiful but the service and main meal could have, and should have been a lot better.

The food came quickly which was nice but unfortunately the fries that came with the sandwich were barely warm, like they had been sitting a while before they served them to us. The salad had red onions on it that were soft and not crisp, WAY past their prime, they should never have been put on the salad. I love onions on my salad so that was a disappointment. I had one soft wilted looking onion slice and the flavor was fine but the texture was hard to get over so I tossed the rest of them. The grilled chicken was completely cold so also not made to order. It probably comes frozen and premade with grill marks on it and they just thaw it and put it on the salad which is super lame and which is why I’m giving only a 3 star review. The portions were big which was nice because I only ate about half my salad and took the rest to go. My friend said his sandwich was great and very filling but it was a shame the fries were barely warm. He asked for a side of blue cheese and they gave a big amount. So no issues with the portions but the quality was not great. I liked that they had pepper and salt grinders on the table, I liked both freshly ground on my food so that was great. The waitress was nice but she initially only brought us 2 napkins, not sure if that is some policy of theirs but it looks like they are being pretty cheap. The sandwich had a ton of sauce on it and it was dripping out all over so pretty messy and would take at least 2 napkins for that so we had to ask for more and she brought us a few more which was nice, but we really shouldn’t have had to ask, I mean come on. Not super expensive but also not super impressive. I would definitely come back and maybe try the tacos next time but if the next time the food is also sub par that may be my last time coming here.
