We arrived on time for our 7:00 reservation and we were seated promptly. The dining room was relatively busy when we arrived, but not full. Only one of us ordered an app which was received pretty quickly along with the bread. By 8:00 we were really hungry and were told by our waitress that the food was coming right out. After another 30 minutes went by with no acknowledgment that the food hadn’t arrived yet, and watching people who arrived well after us finish their meal and leave, I flagged down the hostess to check on our meals. They came out shortly thereafter, 90 minutes after we sat down. All food was hot so our table was clearly forgotten even though we were told it was coming out after an hour. The food was excellent. The pork chop was so moist, yet had a crispy char on the outside with a fantastic herb butter. The potatoes and Brussel sprouts were also excellent. The other people at our table also enjoyed the food once it arrived. We were offered an additional glass of wine on the house but at that point we wanted to finish our meal and leave. I would have thought the wine we already had may have been comped instead but this didn’t happen. Five enthusiastic stars for the food, one disappointed star for the service.

We had to ask bussing staff to put in drink orders because our Server could not give us any time of her day. They have a great drink menu with an outstanding selection of tequilas. The food was terrific. The bar is small but suits the place well. We had wings for starters they were brined, smoked, and then fried. They were delicious great smoke flavor but not overwhelming. We enjoyed our first visit to the Cape this week. With all the places to choose, we were so glad we chose the Winstead. We stayed at the Inn off Parallel so we could use the pool. When we wanted to go to the beach, we were able to use the facilities and private beach at their oceanfront location a short drive away. And the free breakfasts in the morning was a great perk. We stayed at the Beach Resort and were in heaven from the time we arrived throughout our entire 6 night stay! This is a TRUE HIDDEN GEM! The staff members were amazing, caring and attentive and the private beach was heavenly! 5 Stars is not enough ********** at least! The Inn is a relaxing and quiet place, of which we also found to be hassle free. The staff is knowledgeable and ever so polite and respectful of your space and time. We enjoyed the Beach Resort, with its private beach and make such good use of the available chairs and towels. For those looking to get a true New England and Cape Cod experience the Inn is the perfectly located Mid Cape location. The inclusion of breakfast in the morning only adds to the value of your stay. Well worth the trip, and looking forward to return on our next visit.

The beach resort is fabulous. We had never been to Cape Cod and we had an amazing time. We would definitely come back to the Winstead Beach Resort again. Truly beautiful! Only suggestion is that we would have loved some guidance on where to go, etc. usually when we stay at an inn the proprietor is available to offer restaurant suggestions, things to do, etc. the front desk was never really staffed. As other reviewers have stated this inne clearly deserves more than a 2 star rating. The rooms are clean and spacious, the staff is extremely attentive and the location is perfect! The owners were on the property a few times and they clearly take pride in the place. I even overheard a conversation about making sure that one of the staff members got a proper day off which I found quite endearing in the current state where it seems the whole world is understaffed!! It was our first visit to Cape Cod and we thank the Winstead Inne for making it so special!
