Having never had a bad chicken parmigiana experience I figured I'd give it a try. I picked up the order and things smelled good in the restaurant. The Lentil Soup was quite tasty and the bread was soft, warm and good so I had great expectations for the main dish! I opened the container and saw very dark edges on the chicken! I further investigated and discovered the chicken was burned. I tried the middle and found no cheese anywhere and despite a great deal of red sauce this dish was dry, over cooked and tasteless other than the burned taste of the chicken! I'm never one to need the salt or pepper packets you get with plastic ware yet after using the entire packet this dish was tasteless and just plain nasty! I have no clue what they think chicken parmigiana is supposed to be but THAT WASN'T IT!!! Sadly this was a waste of $27 at the end of a very long travel day!

I've been eating at Pasta Villa my whole life, and it’s hands-down one of the best Italian restaurants in Rochester, so choosing it for my shower felt like the most natural decision. Shauna was incredible to work with - responsive, fun, and so accommodating. I got to customize the menu (which was a hit), and they let us decorate the private space with signage and games. They even took care of table linens, which made planning so much easier. The food, of course, was outstanding, and they allowed us to bring in a custom cake and cookies so guests with allergies had dessert options too. The staff was kind, welcoming, and kept the energy up all day long. By the end of the party, everyone was up and dancing to our playlist, truly the best vibes! I ordered one of the specials, and it was not described accurately. The first error was that the server incorrectly stated the type of fish being served - which was no big deal to me, as she caught it after I ordered and came over to clarify. When my meal came, I tried to push through it - but it was inedible for me due to the extreme heat. I am usually quite tolerate of spicy, but this dish was loaded with hot peppers. Once we were finished with our meals, we waited another 30 minutes for the check - even though the server said she would be right back with it and then went by our table at least a half dozen times before arriving with the check.

Honestly, they were also just okay. They are crispy and tasty. But I felt that for the price they honestly weren’t worth it. The service was great, the wait staff were always checking on us and were extremely friendly. For large groups a service charge of ~20% is applied automatically, which I took to be the gratuity? We made reservations a day or so before and were seated within 5 minutes of arriving. Our waitress was attentive and took our drink orders immediately, though the restaurant was a bit busy at first and it took a minute before we got our drinks and basket of bread. We had the sangria (photo 2) and it was great, on the sweeter side, but definitely one of the better restaurant-sangrias! For appetizers we had the fried artichokes (not pictured), fried calamari, and the bruschetta board (photos 3-4, respectively). The fried starters were cooked well and not too oily like some other places; the artichokes came with a delicious garlic aioli, but the calamari came with a horseradish sauce that we didn't like so we asked for marinara and preferred that instead. The bruschetta was great as well and the only thing left was the wooden board once we were finished with it. I appreciated Benucci's detailed menu as each dish was accurately represented with seasonings and sauce compositions. For dinner we had: pollo formaggio (not pictured), eggplant parmesan, shrimp scampi, pasta ravioli with grilled shrimp, and chicken limon (photos 5-8, respectively). One notable aspect of the dishes is the spoon that came with stringy pasta, which is appreciated as it makes twirling with a fork much easier. On top of that, everything was absolutely delicious and each dish was seasoned well, having an ample amount of sauce and protein. Everyone in our group either cleaned their plate at the table, or took the rest of the dish home to eat later! For those of us that still had space for dessert, we each enjoyed espresso to drink and tiramisu, creme brulee with raspberry, and italian chocolate cake to share for dessert (photos 9-12, respectively). The lemon peel that came with the espresso was a nice touch; I would recommend rubbing it on the rim of the cup where you sip from for an interesting flavor! Benucci's has an interesting take on tiramisu (still tasty!) in that it is more like a pie/cake with a chocolate crust bottom, covered with the mascarpone creme filling and ladyfinger layers. The creme brulee was great with the sweet raspberry sauce though it was not the most intense vanilla flavor (there were no vanilla bean flakes in the creme). The chocolate cake was good, I don't normally enjoy cake but this one was moist with a smooth/rich chocolate flavor. Our group agreed that you can't go wrong with any one of these as your choice for dessert! All in all we had a great experience that came from the good service, great food, and fun atmosphere giving us a birthday dinner celebration to remember! I would definitely recommend Benucci's to anyone looking for a place to have a nice date-night, or dinner celebration!

I had the Italian Margarita and it was pretty delicious. Never had kiwi syrup in a drink before. We started with the fried risotto, which is basically arancini. The blush sauce paired with the pesto on top really made this dish. The risotto itself was well cooked, and had cheese stuffed in. Great appetizer to get the meal going. Entrees were the vodka penne for the wife, and I had the mushroom ravioli and added chicken. Wife said hers was good, but it wasn't spicy as mentioned in the menu. She was saving room for dessert, so didn't eat as much. I, however, couldn't stop, and joined the clean plate club. The ravioli themselves were tender and so flavorful, in the light pesto cream sauce. Mix that all together with the spinach, artichokes, and tomatoes, and this dish was spectacular. Our waitress did not get it wrong when she recommended it. For dessert, I got the apple crostada, and wife got the creme brulee. This was the only negative of the night - way too much caramel sauce on both. The creme brulee literally had a pool of it on top that she scraped most of it off. Similarly, mine was swimming in it. It really took away from both desserts. Also, the bread and butter was fantastic. Our server was very friendly, and did a great job balancing all her tables. Sorry there aren't more pictures.

It definitely a senior restaurant and their portions reflect that. We ordered clams casino and we were shocked. The clams were the size of a quarter and there was barely the tip of a teaspoon in it. I totally understand the food prices have gone up however for $15.95 it was a total rip off. I dont know how they can serve that with having a good reputation. They charged us a $3.00 dollar up charge for romaine lettuce for the side salad that was skimpy too. I will never be back again.

It was about 18%, but with how well the service was we tend to tip more than the 20%. I went there yesterday ordered two pizzas roughly around 130$. Which seem excessive however I do food reviews and I don't mind giving places business. However this place the customer service was a turn off. The girl at the counter acted like we were nothing her by simply placing a order. (Which is odd considering that's what you do with a cashier). The pizza had zero flavor the pulled pork BBQ just tasted like it had a overwhelming amount of spice to be BBQ sauce. I plan to try other locations trying different pizza's and letting you guys know. But this location about the bland food and terrible customer service is correct. The white pizza is delicious and a go to every time we visit. Every item we have tried has always been great, the classic Italian options are delicious. The French fries are great as well! Will definitely be back to visit!

The clams and mussel appetizer was very good. The bread there was so fresh and soft but crispy on the outside. It was cooked very well. We also got the French onion soup which was very flavorful. Food was meh and not hot. Staff not very friendly. Was there on a Saturday night was by no means crowded. A "Karen" (by Karen i mean i believe it was the owner)shot the nastiest looks because my grandson (2 years old) was standing up looking out the window and just bellowed asking if we needed a high chair. There was only a couple near us and didn't seemed bothered he wasn't banging on the glass or screaming. We left our food and walked out. Not a family friendly restaurant. Won't go back or recommend.

Dinner can be had fairly cheap if just sticking with pizza, but there were some great sounding specials and steak options as well that I'm sure would make for a little fancier meal. As for our experience, we walked in on a Thursday night and were sat inside with no wait. Some of the tables are setup a little close, but they let us take a 4 top against the wall despite it just being the two of us. I really appreciated the extra space as a bigger guy. For the food we ordered a white pizza, meatballs, and chicken parm. They had no problem subbing alfredo sauce on my chicken parm and it came out fantastic that way. Gotta love the pasta from the pasta shop, and the sauces (including the marinara that came with the meatballs) were fresh and didn't feel heavy or greasy. The pizza was unique and left us with some good dipping crust.
