I was not a fan of having made reservations and still not getting a table due to high volume of customers. We arrived before our allotted time 7:30pm and didn’t get seated until 7:50pm. Once seated we got a different set menu for restaurant week to order but we weren’t able to put in an order for another 20 mins because of the rush so we didn’t get to eat until about 8:45pm. He brought the brownie a la mode along with a container just in case we didn’t finish we wouldn’t have a soggy brownie to take home. What a thoughtful waiter. The ambience of the place is conducive to having a great meal and it felt upscale at what we believe were very affordable prices.

If this is your 1st visit and you see many tables with bread just a heads up it is not complimentary. It is listed as an appetizer on the menu and is worth paying for. The bread is soft and is topped with parmesan cheese and olive oil drizzle. Other appetizers we chose were the creamed spinach and mac & cheese. The spinach was tender and combined with a creamy béchamel sauce and topped with parmesan. The macaroni was cooked al dente so it was not too soft the blend of cheese was tasty and coated the pasta evenly. The main dishes we chose was the Redfish Pontchatrain and the Broiled Salmon. Each dish gives you the option of the petite plate or full size. Both dishes we cooked well offering a variety of flavor that satisfied our appetite. The wait staff was pleasant and made sure we were taken care of but let us enjoy our meal without hovering. The venue is setup where you make a line and order from the counter, then find a table. The coffee, tea, and water station is self-service. The Texas Pecan coffee was excellent, although it would have been nice to have an assortment of creamers versus just the plain half-n-half creamer. We ordered drinks as soon as we sat down and about 8 minutes later (at an almost dead restaurant) we finally get part of our drink order. The kids to-go cups were filled to the brim to the point that they had overflowed down the side. I asked for napkins to clean the cups and the server walks away with the cup for another 5 minutes. The cup comes back with slightly less coke on the side forcing us to use one of our cloth napkins to wipe it up. After about 15 minutes the server comes back to tell us that the they were out of frozen Bellini mix for our drink…once appetizer comes out we realized that the meal would be complete garbage. The fried mozzarella tasted like a combination of oil and water not cheese. The meals took forever to come out and again I’m going to say there were maybe a handful of tables with patrons. By the time the meals finally came out our expectations were so low and Macaroni Grill did not disappoint, food lacked flavor and honestly we were over it and just wanted to rush through it so we could get the check and leave dinner purgatory. A couple other things I want to point out…horribly uneven table and disgusting dust on the blinds dividing the booths. Skip this place and go to a real non chain Italian restaurant.

But no problems, so we just waited for a while since this place was told to be good. We didn't mind that. We were greeted with excellent staff members and seated pretty quickly after our 25 minute wait. I would give more stars but they have terrible hours, they don't open until 11 am. I would sort of understand if we were in a lazy beach community but with them being a great healthy option and located right next to a gym, it just seems a bit more logical to be open for those who start their mornings early at the gym. The food sounded delicious but that was not the case at all. While waiting for our food, I noticed that the restaurant was filthy. The air vents that are directly above the tables where people eat, had a layer of dust that clearly has not been cleaned in months, maybe even years. The restroom was so gross, the grout on the tile had a layers of dust on it as well. As for the food, they portray to be this healthy restaurant, but the portions of food is ridiculous. We tried Pure on a suggestion from a friend and were very disappointed. The orange smoothie we ordered was basically orange flavored milk and my kids thought it tasted like medicine. Thought they were just being picky so I ordered a peanut butter and jelly smoothie. This one was more a smoothie consistency but flavor was lacking.
