We were immediately greeted and shown to the bar area as was told other areas were booked. We could see some reserved signs. So happily sat down. But would have preferred the lounge if offered as is nicer. Other walk ins arrived after and two couples were seated in this area so a bit frustrating. I ordered the prawn cocktail and the beef dinner. My partner ordered curry. The menu stated curry with poppadom, plain or garlic nan, which suggested you get both and choice of nan. But was told you just get one. We know the pub and have been before as we do like the food generally. Its homecooked style gives it the edge over bog standard pub fayre. The prawn cocktail was nice, lovely bread and salad. The beef dinner was nice too. Lovely thick beef, veg, mash, stuffing and gravy. The Yorkshire was a bit pale in the middle, almost uncooked. The roasties the opposite they had the colouration and taste that they had been sat around a while and reheated. The curry was nice enough, but wife was not that keen but this is opinion I would say. Chunky chicken pieces and pepper made it look appealing. Small things do make a difference would have preferred to give 5 stars but it wasn't quite there. I would recommend.

As we were heading into Abergele to pick up some Christmas presents from a gift shop we had booked in for lunch at The Harp Inn. We arrived just before our booking (12:30) and were greeted by two lovely young ladies behind the bar. After telling them of our booking one of them showed us to the table and we order our drinks. After looking through the menu we decided on Fish and Chips (Julie) and after seeing one go to another customer I opted for the Steak Sandwich. The meals arrived with no extreme delay - probably around 15 minutes (20 tops) and was served hot. Both meals came with usual chips… not skinny fries or clumped pieces but proper chunky chips - done to perfection: soft and fluffy inside and a slight crisp to the outside… not overdone. The Establishment: Typical standard pub with an old-style feel to it… on a traditional level. Felt like we had been given a warm welcome and did not feel crushed or cramped. When we arrive a few people were there. One guy with his dog were on a week break, staying in his caravan locally. The Meals: I would say the portions were just right, with more leaning towards generous. The chips were in little frying baskets (nice touch) and to be fair was an all-round good experience. The Staff: The two lovely ladies on the bar and serving the meals were extremely welcoming and attentive throughout. Both pleasant speaking and willing to help. The chef - Andy - came out and as Julie knew him from working together in a previous job he came over and had a chat with us. The Facilities: All seemed very clean and tidy. Overall: We were both extremely pleased with the establishment and the meals. We are already planning to grab the Christmas Lunch at some point in December when I’m on annual leave from work. I will say to anyone who is looking around for a great pub in the area of Abergele to give The Harp Inn a try. You will not be disappointed I’m sure. Just make sure you book as the place did get busy whilst we were there. Thank you to Andy for cooking the meals! And thank you to the two young ladies serving. The landlady is warm freindly and accommodating, explained about special deals they have ect.. THE FOOD Was expecting the usual pub food. How wrong was I!!! The only nice part of the meal was the gravy, that actually tasted really nice. When we got the bill they had over charged us by 2 pounds for the roast dinners, which made me laugh. The restaurant is very nice looking and they have a large garden at the rear for eating and drinking aswell. It was extremely spicy and it’s meant to not spicy it’s meant to be mild. The mint sauce used to be yellow now it is orange with a kick. The interior is traditional with charming decoration and large open fire place. The staff greeted us in a very welcoming way. We were offered a table near the fire in a cosy corner. We also have had the lunch & the desserts & cant fault it, would defo recommend a visit if you are in Towyn and as we had the dogs were able to sit outside with them as it's still under cover. It seems to be that a lot of the Chinese takeaways in this area have a thing where they include rice or chips as part of most of the menu options, and this place is the same. I did enquire if it was possible to "upgrade" further from the fried rice to special fried rice, but was told it wasn't possible. Therefore I'm not sure how they ever sell any special fried or similar rice options, but it is on the menu if you just wanted rice! I was a walk in order, and it took about 15 minutes on a Friday night. Bar the chips, the food was piping hot AFTER a 10 minute walk back home, so the containers they put it in certainly did their job. Portions were reasonable, and certainly plenty of chips. Price wise it was more expensive than I'm used to back home, although accept they come with rice/chips included for meals, however I would prefer to pay less per item but then get to choose rice etc myself. Would visit again if in the area. Photos of current menu attached, which is different to the website version. For info, they are cash only, but there is an ATM a minutes walk away at the post office.

I then waited an another 15mins, 30 mins after making the complaint now, to recieve a mediocre burger wrap which left me feeling anxious, disappointed, and intimidated as they would stare at me every other second and then shake thier heads, mostly the chef, like it was somehow my fault I was served cold food. Im not usually one to complain or write a review at all but this was a whole new level of dissapointment. Overall, I left feeling let down. Poor food quality and inadequate service make Jack's Cafe a place I won't be returning to anytime soon.

Expensive and really poor. We had a very basic order that took 15 minutes to arrive and the shop was empty. The food itself was garabage. Some who the chips were a mix of over cooked and under cooked. As others have mentioned i think some stuff was thrown in an re fried. Lots of chips bith black bits through out. The chips i had were just a tastless greasy mess, the fish my wife had was almost white and flavourless. For me i just dont get how you can have a business and turn this garbage out, this food isnt hard to make well. Have a bit of pride in what your doing.
