Booked the week before and noted that we were bringing a dog and they found us a quiet area in the restaurant. Service was excellent and balanced attentiveness to not being too in your face. I like the fact the menu was actually quite restricted which means they’ve focused their energy on making everything delicious. My wife and I had the slow cooked beef bowl which was amazing. However chips were swapped out of my meal. I had gammon and my fellow diners said the lamb henry was delicious. The portions are generous. I came with some mates and immediately ordered our drinks and popadoms specifically asking for two each, which was charged individually when it could have been 2 of of the 'poppadoms for 4 people' offer but nevermind. The lime pickle that came on the chutney tray was probably the best I've had in a curry house! So tart and spicy. We ordered a good mix of curry and rice with a mixed grill and somd bhajis. Everything was amazing in terms of flavour and taste which was all polished off in short order. The only dish that perhaps didn't work was the mango peswari naan. It felt more like a dessert as the naan had been drenched in mango puree making it soggy and overly sweet which wasn't what we expected from the description. Definitely won't be ordering that again! We were waiting to board our train and happened to find this cafe by chance. The breakfast was so good, that way we decided to extend our time by an hour, and board the train later. The portion size is quite big, so if you are a light eater suggest you share or go for a kids meal. Overall service was excellent as well, the staff were prompt to get our food. The toilet was maintained clean as well. Would say it’s a great brunch or breakfast spot in Ulverston.

It is only a small cafe so it's pot luck as to whether you will get a table as a walk in. They do advertise that booking is recommended by phone or email in advance. Food is excellent. You aren't rushed and the service is good. Also caters for food intolerances. Some might find the prices expensive, but my view is, if the food is good enough, I'm happy to pay for it. I walked into town and came across this place. The couple who run this shop and cafe are lovely. The chef in particular is very gifted. The waitress was really polite and friendly. We had the Garlic prawns as our starter and we both agreed it was one of the nicest starters we have ever tasted, the flavours were insane, the textures of the prawns were amazing like it had been cooked to perfection. We enjoyed it so much we couldn't help but eat the sauce a swell. I had a spaghetti Bolognese. This is and always has been my favourite food so as you can imagine I have eaten it at lot of different places. This was by far the nicest I have ever had, I really could not get enough, it had a different flavour to the other Bolognese I have had. This unique flavour was an absoloute delight to taste. My Fiancé had a a carbonara (her favorite) and she had a similar experience as me in regards to the strong flavour it had. I too tried the carbonara and can confirm it was amazing. The prices are reasonable as well similar to other Italian restaurant. I would recommend this to anyone, I would even go as far to say I would make the 3 hour journey from Shropshire just to eat here again.

This is a proper cosy local pub and we got a lovely welcome off landlady Joanne. We sat in the bar area and ordered spaghetti with olive oil, chilli, capers and olives and a funghi pizza. The food was fabulous, the pasta dish was excellent and full of flavour... Joanne's partner makes the sourdough pizza base which was spot on and the pizza was scrumptious. The bonus of the evening was locals who play folk music coming in and playing for the evening. What an enjoyable evening we had, totally unexpected entertainment, fantastic food and a wonderful host. Easily the best pub in Ulverston and if you're vegan or vegetarian you will get well fed. Will definitely revisit.

Not just a little bit at the bottom, it was to the point of filling the entire bottom of the container with oil which was clearly visible when flipped upside down on the lid. On our return we ordered 6x Big Daddy burgers meals. First issue is that there is a few takeaways with similar names closeby and becomes rather confusing especially when your hungry and have limited time. Once the malarkey of the takeaway name was concluded, we were under the impression that the burgers would be part of a meal especially paying over £80 for 6 burgers and a pizza sounded extortionate.
