They add in orders and gaslight you when you point it out. The chef is clearly talented but everyone else needs to have their eyes tested or go to accountancy school. Lunchtime meal with grandmother and wife; they said two people got three course set menu when only one had. Side dishes we didn’t order turned up and then we got charged for them. We assumed the vegetable bowl came with the main course otherwise we would have said something immediately. A drink got added we definitely never ordered. In summary: they added two extra sides, an extra drink and an extra course to our meal and charged 12.5% onto this inflated bill. So ordered the spiced duck starter from tandoor and rajasthan lamb curry and Malawi monk fish curry The menu was very interesting trying not to be just a typical Indian restaurant. Duck can be very badly done by Indian cooking. The duck was soft and perfectly cooked. With a light spicing. We had similar from Benares with pigeon. Which was just as memorable. The lamb curry was excellent in flavour and spicy. I do think you need be aware that you need to make sure it’s mild. Even if it C doesn’t say it is spicy. For me it was perfectly spicy. The Malawi curry with non fish was great. The monkfish was tasty. We had a reasonable priced Pilau rice and Kema nan. Which is more more a roti. Not a nan. Service was charged. All in all the choice was excellent to be different. I read the other poor reviews and didn’t make sense to me. Taste being boring and portion sizes. The portion of the fish and lamb curry was at least 7 pieces. Not small pieces. So portions were large enough for the price. The curry was more authentic to regions they have mentioned. Rajasthan tends to be deeper flavours and spicy. The fish curry was heavy with fish sauce flavour with curry leaves. I’d personally try the Chettinad curry next time as that should be strong with curry leaves and tomato. Service charge is included. If you didn’t like the service. Don’t pay it. We had a real good experience and the 3.9 stars does not accurately reflect I feel this restaurant trying to offer a better regional choice of curries. I do think the lamb was overcooked. But that was my main criticism of a good curry house. Recommend a try.

And not your big standard 60w jobs. The expensive ones that cast as much light as a wet match. I can only surmise this is why it is so expensive. I sat on my own trying to make friendly conversation with the staff but would have for more response from the lightbulbs. My curry was ok at best - it was £19 and I have paid more for worse. But the dips for my popadoms at £1.50, bread £4 and plain rice for a fiver really do screw as much out of you as possible. The £8 for a Cobra I guess bought another lightbulb. And so the unwarranted service charge of a fiver. Could have had another bowl of rice for that! Of course I only had one dish so can only rate that and being a Tuesday meant the restaurant was deader than a dead end, the atmosphere wasn’t as good as I’m sure it can be. But then if the prices were more reflective of the product then there may have been more people in the place. Overall I’d not recommend this place unless dim lighting really is your thing and you’re keen to separate yourself from a good few quid. As good options at a much cheaper rate are available 2 minutes walk away.

This appears to be a family run business by a lovely & welcoming South African family. Excellent location, cosy and authentic Italian food with very attentive staff. The blonde lady who I assume is front of house there was particularly warm and welcoming when we arrived and made us feel very well looked after throughout the evening. We had the focaccia bread to start which we saw was freshly cooked from their pizza oven in the restaurant which added an even more authentic feel to the restaurant. Both had the beef bolognese which was perfect, very hot and the beef was really good quality. Wide dessert menu, we had the cheesecake to share but will be back for the hot chocolate sponge!

Doors opened at 12:00pm, we shot in and our dinner was on the table at 12:20pm. Succulent beef and chicken, was opted for my plate. The Yorkshire puddings were so light and fluffy. Cauliflower cheese was perfect and super tasty.veg was cooked to perfection and the red cabbage was AMAZING. Highly recommend this place. Our booking was for 1pm and we were greeted with friendly faces and shown to our table. There was no menu but, we were shown the blackboard with all of today's choices written on it. There were a few choices if you did not want a roast. After getting drinks all four of us chose the roast lamb. When our food arrived OMG it looked incredible. Large dining plates with a great selection and portion of mixed veggies, roasties, cauliflower cheese and a large (but not football sized) Yorkshire pudding. All this covered and swimming in gravy. The Yorkshire was surprisingly moist and tasty for its size. I am not a fan of the huge ones as they are usually dry and crunchy but, this was perfect! The lamb was delicious and so soft and flavoursome. The selection of veggies were perfect and not overcooked. The roasties were fantastic and with the gravy were demolished with enjoyment. To cut a long story short. We finished our main courses with smiling faces and 4 completely empty plates. Pudding choices were 2 Sticky toffee Puddings with ice cream and 2 crumble and custard. Again four very contented diners having had what we all agreed was the best pub Sunday roast and pudding that tasted like it was home cooked! Thank you Grace and Mike for your hospitality. I believe there may have been an upstairs, but we sat downstairs. There didn't appear to be enough staff for the amount of guests. I am glad we booked as I am not sure we would have been able to eat here otherwise. The food was very good. We had Dough Balls starter and then the BBQ Burnt Ends Romana Pizza and Carbonara Pizza Express Al Forno.. the food was really lovely, other than some ends of the pasta being burnt. The service was slow, we had to ask a couple of times for our jug of water and it felt a while to order and get our food. It was a bustling busy place which caused it to be rather noisy. Luckily I checked our bill as we had been charged for an item we didn't order or have. When I pointed this out the girl said she had realised she had done this and then forgot to remove it.. Overall, worth a visit for the food, but be prepared, you may have a wait on your hands.

Food was delicious and service was friendly and reasonably timely. If you're in a rush for a train, then be warned that most of the food appears to be cooked fresh! It's a simple menu, one headline option per choice of meat or breakfast option, with a wide range of extras and sauces that you could add. Don't miss them, the baseline beef burger is delicious as is but you can mix it up a lot with just a couple of additions. The bun was plump with a soft bite, the onions were freshly grilled and the beef patty was moist and flavourful. It tasted freshly cooked and that care had been taken to choose quality ingredients for even the smallest garnishing. The Halloumi fries were expensive at first sight of the menu but deliciously rewarding when they arrived. Warm and gooey centres with a slight crisp on the outside that didn't feel greasy or deep fried. Quantity was OK but i felt that I got enough value to recommend them as a side. Service was friendly and the food came in good time. One thing to note, it didn't look like it had socket plugs, if you're thinking about charging a laptop to work while waiting, this doesn't look like the right place to do it.

While located outside of Reading it's easily accessible by the local bus which is ideal if you fancy having a drink with your dinner. We were looking for a Sunday fine dining experience in a relaxed, comfortable environment and this filled the brief entirely. We had pre-dinner drinks outside, then moved inside for a highly impressive 3-course lunch, with accompanying side dishes and wine. My only suggestion would be to use something more robust like gem lettuce. The accompanying hash browns were delicious, hot, crisp, and well cooked and not too oily. A few tweeks and I would have given a 5 star review as rhe location is great, the staff where attentive and friendly the hot chocolate was fantastic as was the hash brown just the wrap that sadly wasn't great, IMO. My dog loved the ice cream too! I will be back, though, to give them another try.
