Our group of five showed up with one more than our reservation allowed, but Elaine handled it with ease and got us seated quickly without fuss. We mentioned that we never got the bill and she apologised and left. 5 minutes later my grandfather goes up to the bar to pay the bill as still no sign of anyone dropping it to our table. After the bill is paid my grandfather returns to the table and briefly gathers his things (in his late 80s) before the manager comes over and asks us to leave again? Just left us with a sour taste in our mouths. I will of course be returning to naughtons as I have since I was a child with hopefully better communication between staff management and customers.

We stayed for a weekend with friends, and could not rate it highly enough. We had the most amazing breakfast both days, and we ate in the bar 1 night which was also excellent. The standard of food here was as good as any 5* hotel! The staff were very accommodating and seated us straight away. The food arrived relatively quickly after ordering. There was a good selection and of very high quality. We tender and juicy steaks, fresh scallops and prawns which were cooked with skill but without pretentiousness. I would have given the hotel 5***** but for the lack of a bath,the paper-thin walls and the tired "side-salad" at dinner and "fruit-salad" at breakfast. However, these are easily-fixed oversights. My husband and I with a group stayed for a wedding the night before and two nights after the wedding. The small cottage accommodation beside the pub was lovely, perfect for a group as each room had its own bathroom. Comfortable, clean and cosy. The welcome and service from Aisling and her team/family throughout was second to none. We had dinner in the pub the night before the wedding and breakfast the morning of. The food was hot, plentiful and tasty. The team couldn't do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Great pints of guinness. Great spot if you need a place to stay or good food and a pint of Guinness in a lovely part of the country. Huge thanks to Aisling for looking after us so well and being so welcoming.

A real nice place to sit. The coffee is the best in the town hands down, propper Italian blend , great flavour. The desert.....OMG .... the desert. Have the Amaretto with ice cream, expensive at €15 but you do get an espresso shot and a shot of Amaretto included (you can have it with or without) What a treat, trust me. The attention to detail is really next level with even the sugar cubes being individually wrapped so no worries if the person before you had good hygiene.
