ATMOSPHERE: The place was VERY dirty. They had a sign stating that their AC was not working….. Take a look at the pics of their vents. Below are pics of TWO DIFFERENT vents. They probably don’t bother cleaning their coils either and therefore have AC problems (see pics). Dirty plates served. Their tables and floors are absolutely disgusting and it appears it has not been cleaned in years (see pics). FOOD QUALITY When I say horrible- it’s horrible. Everything tasted pre made and gross right down to the Sushi. We also ordered a seafood curry that unbelievably was burnt AND cold. It had to be sent back. So they burnt it in the morning during prep, packaged it up and served BURNT curry later (barely warmed from the fridge to their guest. Sushi is made with rice that is NOT fresh. You can taste that it has been sitting out a long time. It had ZERO flavor and also did not hold together well when picked up. They either premade this sushi or used oxidized avocado (not necessarily harmful but GROSS!) This is not worth going to for Sushi (see pics). SERVICE: While our server was super friendly (reason for 2nd star) and a young adult that attempted to make things right- she can’t possibly do this without appropriate training. They just lack any level of professionalism whatsoever and that is the fault of management not the young servers. If you’re going to employ them in your restaurant then train them how to serve people. This place needs new management and a health department visit.

This is located on Frankfort Ave in a really people friendly part of town. We ordered the Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura as an appetizer and each ordered a roll. I ordered the Specialty called the "Osaka Roll"! The other two rolls were pretty typical Derby Roll and Earthquake roll. The presentation of the Osaka Roll was fantastic and came out to the table where the server lit the plate and it cooked the cheese that was on this roll with the flames. It's pictured above with a flame along with the other two rolls. The whole flame presentation was very cool and the flavor combination was also very good. Service was pretty straightforward nothing over the top (average experience) and the ambience of the restaurant was relaxed and comfortable. As it stands I would like to give this place a try again and try the Hibachi but I would definitely recommend the restaurant if you are up for a new place to check out.

This place is a 3 star restaurant at best charging for top tier sushi. If your an into rolls I’d still say go somewhere else for quality. That must be what’s bringing the reviews though. The spicy tuna roll was almost sorry drenched in another sauce that might have actually ruined okay spicy tuna. The nigiri is served lukewarm and the sushi rice the cut is over is horrid. You can’t forget to leave out the globs of wasabi that accompanied the rice. I can’t say I’m a professional by any means but I’d like to think the Japanese would frown on the construction of these rolls. Please read my view understanding I can appreciate good food that is not my style. This is not worth what they’re offering and they know that. Hence to why they have no website with a menu to check out. $26.95 for Sushi A that had 7 pieces of Nigiri as well as a California roll included (I upgraded the California to the spicy tuna). That is fairly standard with a nice place that includes soup and salad or atleast one or the other. This place is making a fortune of there poor practice of making sushi and I do not recommend you visiting. Sapporo provides a much more fulfilling experience at a much better value. I’ve tried the vast majority of the sushi restaurants around town. Unfortunately this one was another let down. I’m hopeful for the upcoming places here as it’s really a small market of sushi worth eating, in and outside of Louisville!

So the steak I got medium and it was perfect... The ginger sauce was spot on... The rice was good... I also enjoyed the vegetables (except the mushrooms but I kinda figured they would be there and I just always eat around them... I'm not big into special ordering stuff if I don't have to) This was $14... Unfortunately I'm at a satellite office just for 2 days and this is my last day.. but if this was near my home office I'd be here at least once a week at this price... And I will probably be here EVERY TIME I come to the Louisville office. I gave it 5 stars on atmosphere... I want to pause here... My lunch was $14... Completely met expectations ... But this isn't like first date level atmosphere... That being said... Most hibachi you share a table with strangers and have someone performing...you can't easily have meaningful conversation... Very small room was not expecting that. The owner was visiting with friends which sparked a friendly atmosphere however the man who took my order didn't seem prepared to even greet me but asked if I had a carryout. Anyways I ordered my sushi roll. The new Orleans roll. It was a bit underwhelming. Took longer than expected for such a small roll. But it tasted fine and clean. Sushi can vary tremendously between rolls so I'm in no way complaining. Would go again but maybe with a plan and a different order haha 😆 thanks white Buddha!
