I don’t typically eat carbs, but when I saw the fried rice I could resist a bite. Genuinely the best I’ve ever had. Plus the sauce on the side was to die for. Lastly for desert we got the fried banana with vanilla ice cream and it was fantastic! Just the right sweetness, and again, huge portion (definitely enough to share between us). I couldn’t be happier with my experience here tonight and I’ll definitely be bringing friends and family regularly. Also, thanks Emma for the awesome service! The place is small so during busy times, there may be a wait, but they have an adorable outdoor seating area that helps with the crowds on nice days. They have added a nice sushi selection too that is reasonably priced. The only issue I have had is that it is a small space, so it can get loud. During my week-long stay, I look for new restaurants and good experiences. On my last trip, I visited The Nine which is a Thai and Sushi restaurant. The menu here has a nice variety of appetizers which I tried the Sampler. This consisted of Crispy Rolls; similar to a Chinese Egg Roll Wrapper small fun size, Fried Potstickers, Crab rangoons, and Coconut Shrimp; similar to a Panko or Japanese style bread crumb crusted shrimp that is deep fried. It was pretty tough choosing from the assortment of various Stir Fried Noodles and Rice dishes to the Thai Curry, through the dinner style entree dishes. Ultimately I ended up ordering the Drunken Noodles with Tofu for the protein. Don't be confused with the Drunken part of this rice noodle dish. It has a great flavor the Thai style sauce just lightly covers all the fresh vegetables, green and red bell peppers, nicely cooked with bean sprouts all cooked to retain its flavor and a bit of a fresh snap.  And the addition of the fried egg sprinkled through the dish was a nice surprise. Aromatics of basil and what seemed to be a Thai pepper or Jalapeno just helped to open up the pallet for the slightly on the hot side spiced enjoyment of Thai cuisine. Over all the portion size for one person is just enough, and if your unable to eat it all they will box it up with more of the Drunken Sause for later. I look forward to eating here again and will let others know at my office my meal was great. Check it out if your downtown and are looking for a good Thai meal.

If you have picky eaters that either won’t eat sushi or raw fish this is a good option because they have plenty of cooked sushi and hibachi style options. The sushi lunch special is reasonably priced and you get two 6-piece maki rolls, miso soup, and a small side salad. The two rolls of my choice were the spicy crunchy crab and avocado & salmon. Both were flavorful, however, a few of mine fell apart while I was dipping them in soy sauce. The edamame, as always, were delicious and I really enjoyed the dressing the use on their salad. Everyone else in my party also enjoyed their visit and the server was incredibly nice and prompt with drinks and table clearing. Overall a great visit and I would happily come again!

One of my favorites meals in Memphis was the Ramen after hours @ Hog & Hominy. I was excited to hear that the Chef went out on his on and specialize in that delicious food. The family joined me this time and we ordered a smorgasbord of items off the menu. We really enjoyed sharing a few appetizers to sample a few items. The Pork Belly Boa was a great way to start. It had plenty of the fatty bacon flavor you love in a great pork belly, but the vinegary pickles cut through the fat. It was a tasty bite. I think the table preferred the pork dumplings over the shrimp. The star of both plates was the sweet chili sauce. We ate every last drop of that sauce on just about anything. The family went with the Shoyu, Tan Tan & Chicken Ramen. They were all good, but we really enjoyed the flavor on the Chicken broth the best. I would say we are not miso fans, but it was the perfect sauce for Ramen. The Shoyu had a ton a flavor in the meat and the Tan Tan had some decent spice. However, they both would been outstanding with some sort of pickled items. I don't care if it was just pickles, but mushrooms, onions, carrots would of made both of them outstanding. I ordered the Chicken wings a was happy I did. They were super crispy and moist at the same time. The sauce was sticky and crunchy with the peanuts. I did find my self dipping them into the chili sauce from the dumplings and made for a perfect bite. I would definitely try this combo again.
