We had to get to go containers as we got full FAST. As a pescatarian I am obsessed with the Veggie Ramen, Ebi Curry Ramen, and the Aji Fry Curry. The staff is so sweet, attentive and the cooks really put care into every dish they put out. There is no reason they shouldn't have a steady flow of busy, they are exceeding every mark. 10/10, A++ and we will be back soon!

As for the flavor of the actual ramen itself, it is lacking in flavor. The chashu pork was fine. The broth was not nearly as good as the small city ramen places, I’ve found. There’s ramen broth filled with flavor at other ramen shops. I personally will not be going back to this specific ramen place. I also take my kid with me when I try new restaurants, he didn’t want to eat the ramen and tried to tell the owner that it was bad and I was shocked that he blurted it out (he’s never done this with ramen before). Just to be open, no I don't eat sushi but the celebration was for someone else who I consider family from the islands. The restaurant is som what small with booths along the wall . I ordered teriyaki chicken, something I knew. It also came with vegetables. Our meal also came with a soup. As part of the celebration we split a bottle of sweet Sake. The food was really good and they gave a nice portion. My only complaint was our server. He just seemed like he did not want to be there. Aside from the decor and service the food was a total disaster. Our clear soup had a weird taste and the salad was extremely plain. The salad dressing tasted like straight up mayonnaise. The following part is what makes me most nervous. He was finished cooking the veg, flipped the chicken after 3m on the grille and then immediately plates us our veg. Cross contamination comes to mind and let’s hope tonight isn’t praying to the porcelain deities. Drink went empty before I found the waiter doing side work to ask for a refill. As soon as the chef was done we were handed boxes. The smell of oil/grease when I walked in along with the piles of miscellaneous stuff everywhere was a big turn off but we were already there so we gave it a try. There was no one in there but us so that should have been a clue but we stayed anyway. The ginger sauce on the salad (which was nothing more than a bowl of iceberg lettuce) was basically just mayo. The chef who cooked our food seemed less than thrilled to be there. I did not have high hopes for this meal by that point & unfortunately, my instinct proved correct. The food was bland & the shrimp were overcooked. I vomited in the car 3 times on the way home. Stay far, far away from this place!!!

I initially gave them 5 stars but resulted to 4 because of decor! They need to put more decor flavor, not more stuff but get a interior decorator that will help with there name brand so when the day comes to expand then all the stores will look somewhat the same like the designs on a flag. Overall I recommend this place but make sure you bring $20 that will also be enough to include tip, the Taro bundle tea and a two protein bowl. You will be leaving with some change in your pocket, the pricing is average for downtown Norfolk since property tax is sky high for owners. The shumai and fried rice were the best in my opinion, and even those were mid. I’m sorry for leaving a not-great review, but we were so disappointed with what we received for that much money. The spicy tuna hand roll was some mishmash of old fish, the Yakitori was not individually cubed pieces of chicken but one piece of IDK what kind of sauce but not teriyaki, I asked for a draft beer of Sapporo and received a hot glass with a can, and I ordered and eel roll with avocado and received a bbq eel roll with some unknown sauce on top of it. Obviously I cannot recommend this place. Maybe people just don’t know what Japanese food is around here because their high rating is not accurate. I didn’t even take any photos or videos of the food which I usually do.
