Went during the mud season so there wasn't a wait for a table! We got the house sangria and it was good but needed a little more sweetener. Gorgonzola fondue was a fun app and the salads were a generous size even for the half salads. We got the ribeye and the filet and would definitely recommend the fillet over the ribeye. I was craving all day the meal that can cure any meh week - Caesar salad and French fries - but didn’t see fries on the a la carte and was worried the salad would be too big. We were able to walk in and be seated immediately. No wait and it didn't seem like there were many people. We were able to order our food quickly and our appetizer and drinks came quickly. The special was delicious. The only problem was you could tell the food sat at the pass for a bit. The perimeter of everything was cold while everything else was warm. I'm also disappointed in one of the kids meals coming later by a decent n amount than the rest of the meals. With that being said, the flavors were spot on... I just wish things arrived promptly and without sitting on the pass for longer than necessary. I mean, if you are going to spend a lot of money on seafood in the mountains, then you want it to be warm all the way around and have everything arrive at the same time.

Theses were awful…burned up, overcooked and cost $18. The menu is limited but the nachos and chicken nuggets with queso were decent and did the trick. Amazing views. The staff was also very nice. The rest of my review is not opinion. We waited 5 min to be checked in by host who appeared to also be the only waitress. We then waited 10 for menus, 5 more for a drink order and then 5 more for our food order; she wouldn't take our food order even though we said we were ready. So 20 min at table and we just got our water and placed an order. 25 minutes later our food arrived, I refilled my own water 2 times in that time. Food was not hot which was surprising how long we waited. We ate in 10 min, asked for check, waited another 10 minutes and then went to the coffee counter to get our check - it never was delivered to our table. I saw similar experiences being had while there; 2 different groups of guests left without eating because they could wait that long for menus. We have been here 3 times because my whole family wants to like it. Great location and nice open windows and it's right "in the middle" of the fun open area of Winter Park. My kids ordered some root beer fizz drink that wasn't great. I think it was just under carb'd that day but it had no fizz. They didn't finish it. All the beers my wife and I have tried are fine. Well made but nothing I've just been in love with. The thing that was most detracting for me was the service the first and second times we went. Granted it was super busy, because it's right at the base where everyone goes, but I really think they would do better with more staff. If I recall correctly, it was 1 bartender and 1 server and ordering and paying just took an insanely long time. I'm sure this place would fit perfectly for some people and just be amazing. And I wish I loved it, but I just don't.

It's a bit of awesome in Winter Park. I happened upon Opa Charlie's accidentally because the business was that new! I love finding restaurant gems whilst traveling. All of the flavors were utterly delicious. From the fries to the soup to the lamb burger - the spices and preparation made for a darn fine meal. The presentation was superb. The staff were smiley and talkative. Service was spectacular. The menu extensive. The atmosphere colorful. I see this business providing delicious food to tourists and locals for many years to come. Each item was $15 which I thought was pretty excessive when everything but the sesame chicken was a side. Each item came in a typical sized Chinese takeout box. When we went to pick up the food I had a terrible time trying to find how to get into the restaurant because I had never been to Winter Park before. So when we finally got there I was exhausted and I felt sick still adjusting to the altitude and asked if we could sit down and eat. She refused even though there was two tables in the entire restaurant seated. I told her I wanted to order drinks and sit down and she said it was their policy not to allow take out orders to sit down at the tables. Her attitude was extremely rude and dismissive and inflexible and I would never give them my business again because of the way they treat customers. I spent almost $50 on basically one entrée and they wouldn’t even allow us to sit down. Even after I let them know it took us so long to figure out how to get into the place and it’s freezing outside. Rude. It’s sad but they would never get away with treating regular customers that way. I’m sure they depend on people coming and going if that’s how they treat people.

As we stood in the line and ordered there were 2 young men smiling and trying to help. I gave my order and asked to have it toasted. That’s when the over bearing owner or manager came in and started humiliating both of the workers in front of the customers. I was so shocked he would berate them in front of the public I didn’t say anything to their defense. I don’t usually post negative reviews but in this case maybe the manager can learn that is not the way to teach new workers.

The worker asked the manager, who was filling in the food containers, for more bacon to complete the order.
This is when the manager proceeded to tell the young man he needed to think in advance to request refills on the sandwich condiments in a condescending manner and included he might not be working there if he couldn’t put the sandwiches together. The manager then took over the sandwich order so I told him I wanted it toasted… he then said to me with a smart attitude, “I can’t toast it before I get it set up.” Really? I was trying to bring him up to speed on the order, since he took over. I was heartbroken for the workers and feel horrible I didn’t say anything. I then ordered a soft drink and the manager proceeded to tell me they had “no ice but it comes out of the tank cold.” I didn’t want the drink without ice and he told me 2 more times it would be cold. I said “I just didn’t want a drink.”

The store was too hot so we went outside to eat the sandwich. The picnic tables and seats are made out of trex decking materials and we’re extremely hot. Find another place to eat! This was a very unpleasant experience and wish I hadn’t spent the $27 and just left. I usually don't read reviews on chain restaurants but this teaches me a lesson.... management has a problem and another review said the protein was light and it was.. not like other subways. Take your coupons or check the app or pick another place to spend your money.
