And although the menu was extremely limited and we were the absolute last table being served, it did not affect the level of service and quality of meal. I hadn't made reservations for lunch or dinner here knowing we were here at the busiest time of year, but I was interested in seeing the restaurant. We had reservations for sunset on Cadillac Mountain and decided to stop in for dessert before we headed up. Dimitar was our very kind and warm server and the other staff were also friendly and warm. We shared some lobster bisque, clam chowder, lobster Mac and cheese and lobster roll. Everything was really good. The drinks were really good too. We sat outside and the view was amazing. The regular popovers are light and fluffy and go well with the strawberry jam and butter. The chicken pot pie was one of the best I've ever had, and slapping it in a popover instead of crust was inspired. They have indoor and outdoor seating and we chose first available. Service was fast and the staff was very attentive and friendly. My daughter had the CWT fried bacon and bagel sandwich, we tried the peach pancakes, my husband had a scramble with sourdough toast, and I had a scramble with gluten-free toast. We also ordered a vanilla latte, a milk, and an orange juice. The scrambles are good, but they add up once you add all of the meat and vegetables and become a little bit pricey. The drinks are a bit expensive as well and we ended up spending $81 plus tip on breakfast! The sourdough toast is good and I thought the gluten-free toast was excellent. It was light and fluffy and not chewy. Gluten-free bread can be hit or miss and this was really good gluten-free bread and would probably make great French toast, but I did not try the French toast. The orange juice was good and the milk was good and cold. My daughter enjoyed her bacon, egg and cheese bagel and my scramble was excellent and a very large portion. We arrived quite early since we had a light lunch, thinking around 5:45 and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. For an appetizer we ordered the Rodick Street Corn with chips. The dish was fire roaster corn off the cob, zesty butter, lime, Old Bay crema and tajin (chili spice that was a bit mild). The dish was very good. It’s exactly what we ordered and it was even better than we hoped. We ordered a large (thinking small was personal and large was shareable) and it was huge. How lucky! First of all, it’s adorable!. We dined on the patio. The booths inside appear to be original but are just perfect. It was spic and span clean, with a cute little bar. Now for the best part, the food. This was the BEST lobster roll we’ve ever had. The lobster was fresh (it’s hand picked daily) and the yummy toasted roll was bursting with lobster meat. The food was fabulous as was the staff. We enjoyed a lunch special of 2 smaller lobsters (under 1.5 lbs each) for a fabulous price. The property is stunning! Initially we were a bit thrown off because we were told the property would be ready for our trip and the rooms we booked (and spa) were not complete. That said we were put into a cottage which was darling and I didn’t find any work that was intrusive at all. The general mgr was responsive regarding the delays and extremely nice/accommodating. The only thing that really needs work is breakfast at the restaurant. You will miss a chunk of your morning waiting on eggs BUT it’s new and they are training. Dinner and drinks at the bar was great. Very Lake Como or Maggiori and in time the gardens should mature to be as lovely as any in Italian hotels we know. The decor was very stylish outside with the olive striped poolside loungers and pink tasseled umbrellas very much the latest in Euro style. A photographer was on hand and it made me think of the Slim Aarons photos of beautiful hotels and people brought right up to date. The staff were friendly and found us an early table at the restaurant. The oysters Rockefeller were there with the very best and the short rib was nearly perfect. The only complaint was that it was just slightly cooler than I'd want (just a smidge). The potato was extraordinary as were the vegetables. Layton was tremendously attentive and knew his stuff. Really helped us pick the entree. The desert menu was lacking the chocolate torte sadly. We will return to stay. The snug bar looked very inviting. All staff affable, smiling and friendly. We noted a lot of respect to locals who had been regulars. Very classy. Please organise sailing charters or even a slipway so we can bring our racing dinghies in summer and leave them on the lawn. We wanted to experience hiking Acadia, checking out the carriage roads, and relaxing. This was the perfect location. We could easily get to Bar Harbor, experience Northeast Harbor, and also spent a day in Southwest Harbor. We were able to get on trails right from the Inn, and access the carriage roads with bikes just a short tide away. The view from this place is stunning. The whole Inn is nothing but cozy and comfortable. The decor was perfect in every way. It made me feel like I was staying in a home rather than a hotel all week. When you arrive no one helps you with your luggage or even opens a door - not ever-coming or going. You are on your own. The desk folks watch you struggle with the door 😂 Upon arrival, we waited at the front desk while the desk clerk and another staff finished their flirtation before asking if we were there to check in. We stay at nice hotels often - and even on this trip stopped at several towns along the way and were treated with a exceptional service, michelin star food and accommodations - Asticou did NOT compare and is definitely not worth the price.

This place was open early enough that one of my cousin wanted to grab a quick breakfast sandwich. I did not order anything myself but wanted to check it out. it's actually a very nice restaurant with a market. The one staff lady that was there was super nice and accommodating constantly talking with us as our items were being prepared. Super friendly. I didn't actually buy any food so I can't really rate it but the service was nice and there were a couple groups in there in the early morning but it was pretty quiet. We got back to the cottage we were renting and cooked up the absolute best lobster meal ever. The lobster shells were stuffed full with meat and so delicious. I cannot thank the staff enough for their friendly and courteous service. This has to be the best lobster pound in the entire area. I highly recommended Northeast Lobster Company. To tell us they were making the plain jane sandwich, it has ham and lettuce...5 min later one of the young girls brought the sandwich and asked us if we had everything. Seemed like yes but we were supposed to grab the chips but forgot with all the back and forth. The coffee was good, strong, not bitter. The croissant was good. The sandwiches..not worth it. They do put lots of protein but the breath is the dense kind and the slices while thick were small, see pics, specially for a guy. And in the premade sandwich the bread was clearly old. Maybe go for coffee and pastries? We will not repeat.

Had a delicious chocolate croissant as I couldn’t resist when they said it was one of their baked goods flown in from Paris! My husband had an Americano which he also enjoyed. I’m looking forward to trying the breakfast bread pudding and breakfast casserole which we bought to snack on later during our hike. Will be posting an update later on those. Ingredients are high quality here with a lot of gluten free and vegan options. One of the biggest perks? The free WiFi! Can be hard to make plans in Maine with the spotty cell service so this was a bonus, especially in such a classy dining location.
