I just recently moved to Pakistan Lahore and my new friends took me for breakfast the famous halwa pori. At first it’s a normal style dhaba. When we order food I found steel foil on my 1st pori and. I throw it and continue eating my food, guess what when I took 2nd pori same thing happened I found steel foil inside my pori. The worst thing ka chana plate I was eating have hair inside. If they were in abroad I will definitely file a complaint to shut it down or they will get huge fine.
Price is ok but no food hygiene guidelines. I don’t recommend this place for people who like to eat clean food.

Visited Saqiq Halwapuri on Saturday with much higher expectations but ended with above average taste.
Their "Aata" poori is recommended while "Maida" poori feels too heavy.
"Halwa's taste is fine and not extra ordinary.
Their chicken kachori tasted better than mutton but their crust was too thick that it overshadowed the actual taste of chicken/mutton.
Their staff seems fine but you might not get service like other top brands and it's obvious because of their training and work nature.

So, whenever I waited for speedo bus but in the end decided to take rickshaw I have notices this restaurant. Honestly, it doesn't look like one from outside and more of tandoor and samosa selling place but in the end decided to give a shot. Forget to take pictures of menu SORRY but yeah it seems like they had lots of deliveries not dine in. Because they're on food panda and yeah the place is very cranky not aesthetic especially the washroom 😕 you might not like to use it.

Biryani has a quite mild taste. Chicken piece is also moderately tasty. With a crispy exterior, shaami kabab was slightly on the spicier side. Raita is also thick and proper mint mixed yogurt. For the price they are charging, their seating is quite good, a small furnished hall with fans and AC. It has a seating capacity for about 20 people. Staff is efficient and friendly. Visited Dera Restaurant with friends for dinner and overall it was a really good experience. The ambiance is very lively and traditional, which makes it feel warm and welcoming. Café Hameed holds the status of legendary food item in Lahore. It's one of its kind. It's something that you become addicted to. In actual, it is simply anda shami for a Lahori and bun kabab for karachiite, but it has no chatnis in it. No garam masaley. No mayo. Just simple daal tikki coupled with bun which is wrapped in egg and cooked in butter. I don't remember having just one in any of my visits to this shop 😄 hygiene conscious people should stay miles and miles away from this place. There are no proper sitting arrangements rather only a wooden bench outside the shop. Sanda road where this shop is located is always busy so finding space for a car park is always a tough job. I had heard alot about Khalifa Blochi Sajji from various social media platforms as well as from google maps.
I am a Sajji lover whether it is Chicken or Mutton. The later one being expensive and not very common is a limited option.
About chicken sajji, i have tried almost all famous sajji points like , Heera Chargha, Spin Ghar Shinwari, Sabir Sajji, Rehman Sajji, Ali Shan Sajji and now this Khalifa Blochi Sajji.
In my opinion it is good and is different in taste from others. We ordered half sajji and was take away so no idea about sitting especially for families because boys like us can adjust anywhere with friends.
So about sajji, different from others, they gave us half sajji with two leg pieces that I didn’t expect so make sure to ask them prior what pieces are they putting.
It was cooked quite good. Masala was also okey. I would say light flavours. But chicken was good. Rice were also different from others. They had added very little dry fruits and vegetables. Rice were of good quality (Kachi Basmati) not other so this made the taste good.
Raita was also included. It was mint raita and was really nice but the quantity was limited. No extra masla was given. And the quantity of rice was sufficient for 02 people and they do not give FOC rice like some others.
It is located in a rushy area so going on car at night wouldn’t be recommended.
Overall it was a good experience (food) and would definitely recommend.

I was actually in search of a nice dining place to enjoy some Sajji, and I decided to go there with a friend. We opted for their Sajji dish and also tried a variety of tikka botis. Bashar Darulmahi has been a great name with regards to fried fish in Lahore. Perhaps the best that there was. I still recall standing in a queue for more than an hour to buy fried fish from their original shop in Mazang around 30 years back. Now they have many outlets and we tried their outlet at Hussein Chowk a couple of times.
To say the least, we were quite disappointed. The famous fried fish for which we used stand in a queue was now of quite an ordinary standard..... so blend that we could hardly finish it and I had to confirm it from them that is it the same fish for which they were so famous? The BBQ fish which is a new product was prepared much better.
They have a reasonable sitting place which is quite big with an average furnishing. The standard of service is quite poor. There are just a few waiters who find it hard to meet everyone's requirements. Better to remind them about your order a few times otherwise they will bring an incomplete order and will take ages to complete it.
Various type of fish range from Rs 1000/- to 1600/- per kg. The best on their card was BBQ fish which is basically boneless Bassa fish from Thailand. The original Rohu with gram flour coating is no more that good. They offer Tawa fish also which is fairly good.
